Fears to Fathom - Home Alone

Fears to Fathom - Home Alone

Very nice concept for horror game, I don’t usually like games with jump scares because in my opinion, jumpscares are lazy way to make the game scary, I enjoy terrifying and creepy atmosphere, but with this game, the jumpscares are fine, they are not forced like in other horror games as being part of the storyline, you can play the game without experiencing these jump scares and that is what I really like, however if you encounter any of these jumpscares, they are really well made and will spook you the first time encountering them. The atmosphere is really well nailed as well, I also enjoy the VHS tape feeling of the “screen”, this is someones story and this VHS tape feel reminds me of it. I’m terrible at describing things but what I can say very well, I am more than enjoying this game and looking forward of playing through the next and other future episodes!

Starts off normal enough, you get to kick back and relax- you see a neighbor playing “bark louder” with his dog, no alarms there!! But the true fear comes after… HOMEWORK. Can you find the answers and live to share your story… even though you were already doing it~

Tell Me Why

Tell Me Why

Title is an Overrated Backstreet Boys Song But The Game Is Not!

We all had that moment when we saw the title of this game and sang that song in our heads. It deserves a better title imo and I stand by that. So this game is the pinnacle of pride month for June 2021. So I am extremely thankful for the Devs for providing like literally the whole game for free. Short story goes that the game is very atmospheric, not much puzzle invested and emotionally can be terrifying. It is by the devs of Life is Strange, so I did compare or was going to compare as soon as I installed the game. The two are very different in terms of atmosphere and the creativity. I feel like this game is more of a statement than an actual game. Common factor on both games is that protagonists in both games share an abnormal power of no origin.

Tell me why the music is no good in this game?

Tell Me Why is a new game from DontNod studio behind such masterpiece as Life is Strange and other good games such as Vampyr or Remember Me. Well this is not Life is Strange. I loved both LiS games they made and I liked this one. It’s a good game, just not as good as both LiS games.

The game is about twins and the mystery behind their mother. One of the siblings killed the mother and other one took the blame. After years of separation they finally meet again and go to the old house wanting to tidy up it up a bit and get some stuff before selling it. But suddenly they’re start finding puzzles and secrets their mother left and they start wondering about her past and who their father was.

Sam & Max Save the World

Sam & Max Save the World

I thought I smelled that joke coming down the turnpike, burning oil and dragging its muffler.

Sam & Max almost feels like one of those things that’s self-explanatory at this point, but also it’s totally not since point & click adventures aren’t really as mainstream as they used to be. So if you don’t know, Telltale’s Sam & Max games are episodic comedy games that were part of a (mostly successful) attempt to make adventure games more enjoyable for normal people. Sam & Max Season One was also kind of a proof of concept that showed that episodic games were viable. It’s also very funny.

This game is what you need to start playing to experience point and click adventure gaming at its finest. The actual adventure gaming at its finest is Sam & Max: The Devil’s Playhouse. But before you get to that, you must play this and also season 2.

How does it hold up to the original? It’s great! The visuals are improved. They have altered a few things, but the altered things were elements of polish that reflect society’s growing understanding of how to better talk about things and represent people (actually hiring a black actor to play Bosco, for instance). While it initially took a couple of games for the new Bosco voice to find his sea legs, they went back and updated the first couple of episodes so now it practically sounds like the same old Bosco. (And no worries about the original Bosco actor, he’s still Jimmy Two Teeth so he’s still in the game.)

Have you ever wondered what kind of game the social aspects of Persona 3-5/Danganronpa, combined with the trials of Phoenix Wright, combined with the art and soundtrack of The World Ends With You, would make?

The answer: 1bitHeart.

This downright charming game created by the people responsible for the equally charming LiEat is something that’s definitely well worth the price of admission. As far as difficulty is concerned, it’s easy, there’s no doubt about that. The hardest “case” in this game is about as difficult as the tutorial trial of the aforementioned Phoenix Wright games. Maybe the early parts of the first actual trials.

1bitHeart could use more spice, but remains an adorable and memorable tale. It’s an interactive visual novel that blends in elements of mystery and logic. Nanashi’s adventures in friend-hunting is, overall, quite endearing, but is bogged down by some subpar writing and design choices.

Everything in the game, from story to gameplay to visuals, is done decently, but nothing seems to shine in particular. The aesthetic of the game is cohesive, with characters among the more memorable aspects. However, beyond their designs and quirks, there’s not much underneath. Development across the 40+ friends is spread thin, and while there is a noticeable effort to develop the main characters, I still found them a bit lacking.
