Gotcha Racing 2nd
I’ve expect a Good TDA Racer. And Gotcha Racing 2nd is one of them. But mixing in Gachapon elements? Might be bad. but this isn’t. Spending gold on gachapons rather than IRL Cash great let alone NO MICRO-TRANSACTION. Game play is how I expected (Even w/o Online MP). Race to win. Speedrun any tracks. And random Mini Games of 2. The key is: Getting the Best Parts and beef’em up to make it confident on Time Trials and show who the fastest. The Multiplayer is limited to Offline of 4 players. and not Online of 12 to 24 players. At least there’s Remote Play and Share Play support. Music-wise is good overall. The soundtrack seems underrated even for ASW standard. SFX-wise is the game hit the rough spot as if the sound mixing is poor. some glitches out, some goes in and out, some are loud, and some are quiet. Overall. The game is underrated, but good. despite my hate for RNG element. I go ahead and recommend this game to Top-Down Arcade Racing Veterans and Arcade Racing Fan out there.

Grade = D. Worth a buy, if you wanted to enjoy racing grinding, split-screen multiplayer. But if you’re looking for a good graphic effect, pretty car, don’t buy it.

Ambidangerous
This is definitely one of the most unique games I’ve played. The learning curve it pretty steep initially but not overly difficult. You control two separate characters in a top-down shooter with a single controller. Your left hand controls one character and your right hand controls the other. Think of it as if rubbing your belly and patting your head got converted to a video game. I reccomend either putting both characters together initially so your movements are identical or just shoving one guy in a corner where he is safe.

Delta Squad
Delta Squad has nearly been out for a year now and I stumbled upon it while browsing the store pages for smaller games. I was visually attracted to the art style for a top down shooter and thought this was a game I could get my friends into after giving it a quick play through.
Art, Lighting & Rendering 5/5
Loved the appeal of the modeling, colors and textures.
Animation & FX 5/5
Music & Sound 5/5
I loved all the sounds the guns made, when they hit their targets or the environment nearby. I don’t know why but I enjoyed shooting the lamp post just to hear that ping sound. Voice overs took me back to the arcade days.

I MAED A GAM3 W1TH Z0MB1ES 1N IT!!!1
I highly recommend this game if your looking for a good twin stick shooter that won’t take much of your time. From playing the Xbox 360 version to now the Steam I can tell you that this game hold up very well. What makes it better that it is a free experience so if you don’t enjoy it you just have to uninstall. When you get a chance definitely take some time into playing it.

FINALLY. This was easily one of my favorite games back on Xbox Arcade. It’s not that it’s a huge game. To be fair it’s a chaotic mess, but it’s so much fun. The soundtrack meshes perfectly with the gameplay too and was well worth the $1 cover charge the game used to require. Hopefully “I MAED A S0NG W1TH Z0MBIES 1N IT” makes it’s way to Steam soon as well since we can have soundtracks now. The only thing that could make this game better is more of it but for a bite sized 10 minute adventure this one is hands down one of the best.

Toodee and Topdee
Toodee and Topdee - Steam Version - v 1.0.0.4.
The metagame is a boom of creativity and knowing on algorithmic thinking. In contrast it is an aesthetic promise above gameplay. The “cutscenes” are more the game than the player’s experience.
Is this an indie game for sure? In fact it is a game made by only two brothers from Palestine (Israel indeed, see below). Despite of this the final game was in partnership with Super Rare Games publisher (based in London) mainly for marketing. In the press kit website content we can get: “The jam version received great feedback, and so Gonen and Ori decided to make it their first commercial project”. I suspected that it was a game jam game, it has many compact features typical of a game jam game. You can search for the original Ludum Dare 41 entry - https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/toodee-and-topdee and play the pre-alpha/alpha version - http://www.gpstudios.com/games/view/toodee-and-topdee .

A wonderful puzzle platforming experience.
Toodee & Topdee was basically described to me as playing Super Mario Maker in editor mode, except editor mode is an actual character that has to deal with their own challenges.
You play as Toodee, the platforming character, and Topdee, the top-down block-pushing character, alternating between platforming and block-pushing to navigate the two to an exit portal. Each chapter comes with its own mechanics and trials to overcome, becoming steadily more difficult as the game progresses. This game has the appearance of being good for co-op, but in practice, both characters are not active at the same time, but instead must be swapped between, like in Donkey Kong Country. This suits the game better to a single player experience, though I do think there is still some fun to be had playing with a friend.

Snaliens
snaliens is a sokoban/snake/circuits hybrid with no timer and unlimited undo, just the way I like it, and yet another game that’s as cute as it is hard (very), so family-friendly in the sense that you’ll need all the family to crack the levels, but don’t think kids would get very far on their own.

Pretty good puzzle game of the sokoban type. It explores a variety of solid mechanics over about a hundred unique levels. Nice difficulty curve. It never gets crazy hard, but some levels can offer compelling challenges

Spell Blaster
We were recently successfully funded on kickstarter!
Spell Blaster is a 2D top-down action game inspired by retro classics! The game is being developed for PC (with a planned release on Nintendo Switch) and tasks players with navigating mazes, destroying monsters, avoiding dangerous traps and solving perilous puzzles!
The wicked sorcerer Agonus has appeared in the land of Meridia to summon dark crystal shards and harvest the life force of the planet for his own nefarious schemes. It is up to brave heroine mage Marza, and her equally fearless sidekick Pan, to set forth on a journey to save the world from destruction!
The player(s) begin their adventure on a World Map, selecting a Stage to play. Their task is simple: find and destroy the Dark Shard in order to win. However, the challenge comes from the monsters standing in their path and the puzzles waiting to be solved.
As player(s) progress through the game they will gain new spells and abilities to aid in their quest. There are Bosses that await at the end of each zone, and mini-games/side activities for the players to gain additional rewards.
Planned Features:
-
1-2 Player co-op multiplayer
-
30+ Stages to play
-
Challenging Boss FIghts
-
Multiple Spells and abilities to discover
-
Additional gameplay modes unlockable

Anstorm
If you like simple top-down twin-stick shooters give this one a try. Anstrom seems to be inspired by Ubermosh and TTV and basically offers a mix of both, though it’s not so much hardcore arcade-style. There is a campaign (story mode) with bosses (ans some are pretty good, classic 2d Contra-like). The campaign alternates between arena actions with different objects (clear area, run, survive x seconds, find something, destroy something, and more) and fewer maze levels (TTV-ish with enemies). And then there is Survival mode which comes in two separate flavors, Maze and Arena, that is more arcade.

A very solid 2D-Arcade-Shooter. It has it’s charm even though character movement can lookt a little bit janky. I helped to translate the game so if you don’t understand something it is probably my fault. The dev is open for criticism so if you want to help improve the game just help him out.
