Halloween Forever

Halloween Forever

Just finished the game with all six runes with all 5 characters. Absolutely loved it! Not crazy hard, especially with some of the characters, but it was a ton of fun.

+Amazing environments (levels aren’t just arbitrary tilesets, they follow a narrative)

+Fun moves and control

+Fun, not overly challenging gameplay and boss fights

-Short, but very replayable arcade gameplay

Edit: After topping most of the speedrun leaderboards, I can say this game is well worth the pricetag easily. Plenty of room for optomization for those looking to master the game. The controls are pretty tight and the characters each have their nuances.

Nintendo hard era platformer with holiday charm. I say Nintendo hard because if you die on a level you will restart that level. If you lose your lives, you restart the game. Although this game is best played around Halloween when you are in high spirits for such festivities this game is still a pretty fun game to experience. There are a few flaws which i would say prevent me from recommending at full price, but this game has enough charm that I’d say pick it up sometime when it’s on a sale.

.99 cents is an insult. i would pay 9.99 for this

i wish jungle strike had been this good. i wish nuclear strike had been this intense. holy crap i have no idea where to begin

the title screen explodes into synths that would make kenny loggins weep. the menu is clean and simple and quickly gets you to exactly what you want, all while that music keeps it bumpin. training gets you comfortably and confidently in the air. instant action like raiding enemy bases or hopping from island to island defending yours. free flight that lets you customize the engagement. a campaign to test how many days you can last completing random objectives. a really informative weapons menu that i could not even pay attention to cuz of that sick music

This is definitely one of the most unique games I’ve played. The learning curve it pretty steep initially but not overly difficult. You control two separate characters in a top-down shooter with a single controller. Your left hand controls one character and your right hand controls the other. Think of it as if rubbing your belly and patting your head got converted to a video game. I reccomend either putting both characters together initially so your movements are identical or just shoving one guy in a corner where he is safe.

Great little shooter with a fantastic retro soundtrack!!

I bought this ages ago, but only just played it properly.

I have heaps of games in my library that I haven’t played lol ,,, go figure.

It’s a difficult game, but definitely has that “one more try” quality about it.

The only thing is I couldn’t get my mouse to work properly.

It’s easy enough to play with keyboard controls, though.

Hope to put some more time into this one.

Wow…that was short….

Super Blue Boy Planet is a very short game about a typical hero rescuing his typical girlfriend/wife from a typical villain…who happens to be an alien race completely consisted of CommanderVideo. How short is this game? To be perfectly honest, less than half an hour. It took me 24 minutes from start to finish.

That said, it’s easy with few areas that require precise timing…and other areas where you can expect to die. Don’t let deaths discourage you, there’s normally no penalty for dying since enemies stay dead when you revive at a checkpoint. Do keep in mind that a boss will recover its entire health should you lose a single hitpoint.

I really enjoyed this game. The game’s simple graphics and controls let me actually play like how I would play if I was playing volleyball in real life. Unlike many other “3D” volleyball games I played, I can plan how I will approach the rally and how I will win the point.

The special effects when I spike the ball right and win a point was huge satisfaction factor for me, it was simply astonishing.

The in-game achievements was there to help me with character progression, gacha, as well as costumizaion.

the bosses suck. who ever designed them is mentally retarded.

Overall I liked it a lot but it does have a few (very) rough edges. Shmup combined with metroidvania should be self-explanatory but what drew me to the game was tactical combat where you get slower while attacking, there are timed dodges and there are abilities that use the same resource bar as dodges. That makes it a solid foundation for some good bullet hell. Most of the bosses are very well designed and you get rewarded for exploration handsomely, with equippable accessories that modify your ship in various ways. Unfortunately there are a few issues I’ve had with it:

I got the game on the Halloween sale for 79 cents, and since it was sitting in my wishlist for a while i thought i’d finally buy it. Absolutely not disappointed. The design and graphics are simple but really good, the gameplay is smooth, controls are easy to get used to, the game provides a fair difficulty and my god, the music. I personally put a lot of value in a good soundtrack and notBM did anything but let me down on that one. Real banger. Bit disappointed the soundtrack from the trailer isnt in, or i missed it, though i’ve finished the game before, but either way the game is definitely worth it and fully recommend buying it.

Review:

Tight twinstick frenetic action roguelite that reminds me of games like Enter the Gungeon and Binding of Isaac. Easily recommended!

This game has solid and precise mouse/keyboard controls, a catchy soundtrack, uniformly beautiful pixel art and animation, and most of all, a fun game loop.

You’re basically a psychotic road runner that invades dreams and beats up cute and adorable stuff, which you accomplish with your fists or with one of a few different ranged weapons including a boomerang, crossbow, hookshot, magical orb, and more.
