Fallen City Brawl

Fallen City Brawl

Brawl through the city in hard-hitting pixel art style inspired by arcade classics!

As a brutal battle for control of Fallen City’s criminal underworld rages, four strangers join forces to survive and reclaim the streets! With a ferocious wolf at their sides, these unlikely allies will face impossible odds. Along the way, motivations and past lives will collide, further testing their loyalty as well as their fighting skills. Only by binding together can they reach the final showdown that will decide who lives and who falls.

Inspired by arcade beat ’em ups of the late ’80s and early ’90s, Fallen City Brawl is a story of ambition and revenge told through intense side-scrolling pixel art action. Huge sprites and animated backgrounds breathe life into the dying city streets, while fighting mechanics offer uncommon depth with destructive combos, counters, air-throws, grappling, parries, special moves and “RIOT” supers! Animated cutscenes and a powerful soundtrack by famed composer Daniel Lindholm set the tone for urban mayhem, playable solo or with friends in local co-op!

Features:

  • Fight through 8 stages of arcade-inspired action!

  • Choose between 4 playable characters.

  • Execute combos and specials with deep hand-to-hand combat mechanics.

  • Pick up weapons like pipes, bats, knives, firearms, oil drums, chainsaws and more!

  • Clear the screen with special attacks by upgradeable mercenary backup.

  • Battle it out solo or with friends in local co-op.

  • Command a wolf companion or unleash him and watch the carnage!

  • Get in the mood for mayhem with a soundtrack by Daniel Lindholm.

Hunt the Muglump

Hunt the Muglump

This is a really fun game. My eight year old son really enjoys playing it and begs to get on the computer so he can play it. It has been a great distraction for him during lock down. He especially enjoys tweaking the game settings in custom mode.

I like this game. It’s an ever-changing puzzle adventure that randomizes every time. I’m still working towards the dungeon creator by earning the right achievements, but I enjoy the gameplay. Well-worth the low cost of 5.99.

Good luck Muglump hunters.

AirGun

AirGun

AirGun is another GameMaker Studio asset flip from serial copy+paste infringers, ImperiumGame. All these guys do is rip off game templates and projects from the Yoyogames/GameMaker Studio store, change the name and a few cosmetic details, and try to scam people into paying for someone else’s work on Steam. They have run asset flip scams dozens of times, and this is no exception. It’s nothing but a cash grab.

This time they’ve ripped off a basic template for a 2D retro arcade/SpaceWar game, and slapped some airplane models on it (or the game template came with them, who knows how deep ImperiumGame’s moral bankruptcy goes). GameMaker Studio itself is a terrible game construction kit, and this asset flip shows just how bad things can get when templates/tutorials/demos from that construction kit get dumped on Steam as complete games.

QUICKLY, QUACKLEY! REVIEW

QQ (Quickly, Quackley!) really is the shovel knight of the ZX spectrum, the aesthetic feels like I could be playing the game on the ZX spectrum. The levels challenge you in a way that really makes you celebrate when you reach the interview in time. Each level feels unique and some have multiple routes if you decide to speed-run the game! The movement feels precise and nice to control making it good to play. The story has humour that cools you down before the next world. The music is incredible and doesn’t get repetitive.

Bloody love it. Really really fun and a really good difficulty. The soundtrack and art are awesome and has a tonne of personality. Does a really good job of being tough as hell but always being clear what you need to do to progress as well as feeling familiar but having a unique feel to the gameplay.

Update after finish it - This was a brilliant game. Really hard but I never felt cheated, every death was my fault and I knew why I died and how i could do better. Really really good level design and Quackly felt great to control. SO much charm loved it

Red Rust

Red Rust

Red Rust is retro-style side-scrolling game which uniquely combines fighting mechanics with shooting mechanics. The game is heavily inspired by 8bit and 16bit hits of the 90s, but it’s being developed with the modern player in mind. Tons of great animation, hand-drawn backgrounds, variety of in-game situations and powerful soundtrack!

It’s the year 1984 and you control Agent Red (or just Red), a soviet KGB officer who has been sent to the West on a secret mission. She is an attractive but brutal and cold-hearted girl! Over the course of the game she learns to understand her own emotions and the unfamiliar world around her.

The mechanics and idea of this game are original and mind-opening. The weapons you get are very powerful when using them to react with the environment and can help you easily go through the former part of the game, sometimes perhaps with a lot of solutions. But in one level of the latter part of the game, the creator manages to limit the possible solution to the situation to one(maybe). I think that level is the most awe-inspiring level that makes me think that the level designer is a genius. Definitely a enjoyable game.

Overall good game. A little short and clunky at times but the level design is rewarding when you figure out the puzzles and the game seems very genuine in how the art and game play is portrayed, not very cookie cutter at all.
