Killer in the cabin

Killer in the cabin

I truly thought it would just be another deceit game, but it’s more than that! We were calling it Among Us meets Rust, and it really is. The survival mechanic of the game, and the fact that individual players can die for not resting, or being too cold, or not eating…it adds a WHOLE NEW level to the game. Not only are you trying to figure out who the killer is, you’re trying to survive the elements. We intended to just try it out for a little while and ended up playing the whole night. I am VERY impressed, and even more excited to see where the game goes from here!

HEXCRAFT: Harlequin Fair

HEXCRAFT: Harlequin Fair

Haven’t got very far into it yet. As a fan of Oleander Garden’s other games: The Pagan trilogy, and Hexcraft: Eventide Sigil, I can say with certainty that this is exactly what I expected in the best ways. It feels a bit jank, the graphics are muddy and dated, and it is very frustrating dying with very little warning over and over. It’s part of the experience, however. The game is one big immersive-sim-esque puzzle about working out how to get anything done. Leave your morals at the door, rob some people, and acquire black metal shirts to fight off the horrors lurking in dungeons hidden behind shopping malls and alleyways. It’s a lo-fi game for sure, but the experience is well worth the 13 dollars.

Immersively simulate a nightmare. I instigated a gang war in Chinatown so I could plunder tarot cards from those caught in the crossfire. The victims had recited poetry to me moments before. They knew me by name.

Oleander Garden’s work is consistently haunting, enigmatic, beautiful, infuriating. It’s genuinely fun to bang my head against its walls in an attempt to uncover its secrets. I loved this game.

Given how unfairly obscure it is, you’re lucky enough to have stumbled upon this page, so don’t let the opportunity go to waste. Buy it already.

Mr. Prepper: Prologue

Mr. Prepper: Prologue

The Meta:

This is a free prologue, as a feature-limited demo of the full game which expands upon the content that was made available in the demo from July. You have absolutely no reason not to try this.

I’ve played rather extensively through the beta testing, and can attest that the devs are incredibly responsive to the player community, both for bug fixing and implementing player-suggested improvements or modifications, and I fully expect that behavior to apply to the full game.

The game includes no microtransactions.

Originally, I thought the prologue would end in 30 days at most, but later I found out that I was still too young and naive. On the first day of the second month, I angrily ate all my food. I have many cans which used all the money I made to buy, and with lots of blueberry milkshakes and carrot soup. It’s ridiculous that I didn’t have diarrhea after eating it all! Ok, I have to quit the game in dismay!

Talk about the advantages and shortcomings of this game. This game is still very creative, painting style is good, it is said that the official version has more content. In terms of content, the game is undoubtedly a success. But the game also has some shortcomings:

If you enjoy a bit of spook and puzzle (and can ignore minor bugs as of now) this is the game for you!

As you can see, I have a few hours into this game and I feel like I can give a pretty good opinion on it.

First of, Yes there are a couple of bugs as of now, but the devs have been open about the release being too early and that they are working on fixing the problems. - We haven’t experienced any problems that weren’t fixed by just restarting the game (except some achievement stuff).

As of the game itself, game is a lot of fun (and a bit challenging at times) to play coop and we can’t wait for the next level to be released and for the achievement bugs to be fixed.

Personally I’ve really enjoyed this game. From the sound effects to the puzzles it’s been a lot of fun. There are some bugs for sure, but I think that overall the games still a lot of fun! (Much better when played with a friend). It’s a fun horror puzzle game to play with one friend!

The only thing I can say that I don’t like about the game besides the bugs, is how short it is. But what there is to play is very good! For 8$ you can’t complain!

The Darkest Island

The Darkest Island

The game fulfills its proposal.

Make you tense at various times and when you get used to the silence it surprises you.

Whether with scares or with a new enemy that you have not yet encountered.

PT-BR:

O jogo cumpre sua proposta.

Te deixar tenso em vários momentos e quando você se acostuma com o silêncio ele te surpreende.

Seja com sustos ou com um inimigo novo do qual você ainda não tinha se deparado.

_‘‘No longer will you be a weird Robinson Crusoe, imprisoned on an island of night surrounded by oceans of death’’

  • Richard Matheson_

The Darkest island is a taut, foreboding gaming experience that sees you exploring unsettling surroundings in search of any further survivors of a plane crash you endured. The game opens with the protagonist regaining consciousness near the plane wreckage surrounded by damaged cargo boxes that contain useful resources for the rescue mission.

All around you, in the late evening dusk, are scattered farming villages amid the dense forest & rocks of the island while an occasional howl can be heard in the distance.

Tortured Hearts - Or How I Saved The Universe. Again.

I’m not much of a review writer, so I’m not going to do an in-depth analysis, but 150+ hours in I’ve become completely addicted to this game. As advertised, it’s old school in the larger sense of its design and flow, but it has elements and specifics that are entirely unique. It is difficult at first to figure out how some things work, so you do what pretty much all old school RPG’rs did: play for a while, figure out how things work, then start a new game for real. There’s a huge demo that can serve that purpose for you. This is not one of those games with 40 hours of cut scenes and an onscreen arrow pointing you to what you need to do next, where flashy graphics (that sometimes even work) substitute for game play. You will get quests that you will not be able to solve until well into the game, and you’ll have to stop and think about where you need to go and who you need to talk to. If you want a game that holds your hand and points you to every answer, this is not for you. If you want to solve things on your own, can handle some frustration and you value the game over flash, I think this is a great game for you.

Real player with 990.4 hrs in game

Game has some great potential but just far too frustrating. I fully get the concept of trying not to “hand hold” to make the game more difficult, but so much of this game is just running all over the map just hoping you find the right person to talk to and trigger the correct speech line. The entire game is mostly just based on brut force.

Then there is the combat system. You have no control at all over what your team does in combat. To make it worse, the AI is horrible. You will find your team wasting mana casting a cc spell on an already cc’d enemy or casting the same spell over and over that the enemy is immune to. A strong monster will be one hit away from death and your mage will cast three straight buffs instead of killing the monster.
