a completely new sport for me, which I just learned about, thanks to this game, the realism and immersion suited me to my liking, the detailing of small details, the perfect music accompaniment, excellent presentation!

There are now 3 bocce games for VR. Bocce VR Simulator is the newest edition. While I haven’t played the others, I can recommend this one. It’s solid all around. You can play single player against AI on easy, normal, or hard difficulty or you can play local multiplayer (pass the VR headset around for 2 players).

You have full locomotion available with snap turning. The physics seemed fine to me. The throwing physics and the ball collision physics all seemed realistic. I did not experience any issues playing this game. The game ran fine on my 1060 GTX at a steady 90 frames per second. It’s running on the Unity Engine.

FIFA 22

First FIFA game i’ve played for a while. Full of little bugs in career mode, like academy players who have been in my team for 3 years acting like they just got on the team, or not having shirt numbers etc. But the killer for me is how terrible my other players are once you play in the higher difficulties. The other team will have 6 in my box while my midfielders stand still around the outside leaving my defenders to 4v6. If i want a player to make a tackle I have to be controlling it, which is massively infuriating when for some reason 3 of my players surround the ball carrier and I miss my tackle and they just run through the other two unchallenged. Essentially its hard for the wrong reasons, and its full of little bugs that just come off as lazy.

Now, let me first say that I will probably still play this for another week or two and then I will uninstall it and move on.

This game is horrible. Please, don’t waste your time or money here. Go play anything else, it is not worth it.

Let me explain:

  • Computer matches are super boring. Higher difficulty just means AI keeps passing the ball around for a long time and you won’t ever take it until they get close to your box where they will make mistakes. Easier difficulty is just way too easy since AI takes forever to react.

Madden NFL 21

Madden NFL 21

If you’re looking for a realistic football simulating video game that gives you a half-way authentic NFL experience….keep looking. This year’s installment of the annual abortion that is Madden is BRIMMING with impactful bugs, scarily consistent crashes, and (assuming you’ve successfully navigated thru all of that) an entirely bland and unsatisfying simulation of the typical NFL game. Not only has this game been horribly adapted to PC, but it is entirely consistent with it’s long line of predecessors. The gameplay can only be described as “The Game of Football” according to what a native resident of Bangladesh heard of American Football was like from his Pen Pal in Saudi Arabia. Yes, you are technically running and passing the football against some character models that vaguely resemble (that’s an understatement…there’s really 0 resemblance among all of the players) NFL athletes, but the comparison to how a normal game of football plays out stops there abruptly. Without wildly changing the “Gameplay Sliders” (yes you can literally alter everything about the gameplay which to me is the Devs admitting “hey we really don’t know how impactful any aspect of this sport is so we’ll let you figure out that little detail) the game is wholly inauthentic. Adjusting the sliders makes the game a tad more realistic but overall this title is the epitome of why Madden is one of the shining examples of bare minimum effort put into a game for the sake of raking in annual sales. If you’re not one of the chumps like me who bought this game I implore you not to. The only way these games can become even halfway realistic is if EA takes a hit to their sales and recognizes that minimal investment will yield minimal return.

For years, football fans have yearned for a game with NFL licensing made by any company other than EA. The most cited competitor is generally 2K, who last made an NFL licensed game in 2004 - ESPN NFL 2K5 - one of the most well-received sports games of all time. ESPN NFL 2K5 was almost the nail in the coffin for Madden. The game received more critical acclaim than Madden 2005, while being priced $30 cheaper at a mere $20. I received the game as a Christmas gift that year, and played it for hundreds, if not thousands of hours. I can attest that its ambitions even 16 years ago were way beyond the scope of anything Madden has done since then. It is truly a tragedy for someone like me, who saw so much potential in football games back then, to see what football games have become today.

So far, it seems everything there works in the game. It has helped me a lot.

After nearly 60 hours, I think I’m starting to get the basics of this game. Once you understand some of the common options for building your hand in a unique way, like Tan yao, shii toitsu, when to have an open hand using Dragon or Wind tiles and when that won’t work or won’t score very high, etc., then you can make better calls about what to discard.

This game saved my life.

I am 27.

My ex-wife and I have a daughter together, and adopted our son together. They are now both 4 years old.

When we were going through our separation, I found myself lost and miserable. I was self destructive. I got so mad one day from everything spiraling out of my control that I punched some concrete in a moment of overwhelming emotion. That caused me to break my 5th metacarpal in my right hand… my working hand… my games hand.. the hand that I held and carried my children to bed with.. The hand I desperately needed to make sure I could continue to provide.

You might not think much of it at first, but turns out it is really fun, even a little addictive as you wanna try hard to beat your best score over and over again! The fact that we can now gain experience and win keys to open lootboxes also helps for you to just want to keep playing.

The gameplay isn’t that easy and may surprise you as you go through different situations, some harder than others, and visually, it does look pretty good, animations are fluid, and you get the hang of it pretty quickly.

HIT CHARACTER LIMIT, VIEW THE COMMENTS FOR ADDITIONAL THOUGHTS ON THE GAME

This was an interesting review to write. On one hand, it’s an extremely fun game to sink a lot of time into. On the other hand, it’s basically a re-release of a game, not a remaster. The game itself when it was released in 2010 was really fun. I really enjoyed it (although I’m still not a huge fan of the very heavy steering that the game supplies) for its really fun gamemodes online, good graphics, great car list, and the really good tactical nature of most of the online stuff. It’s also immensely satisfying when you do get a really good run through a series of corners at top speed and shaving off that extra fraction of a second when grinding for good times on all the single player events. Likewise, it’s also hugely satisfying to release that perfectly timed spike strip to catch one of your enemies off guard, allowing for your teammates to move in to take them out of the game.

For reference, I bought the 2010 “Limited Edition” version of this game’s original release for PS3 pretty much as soon as it was available. I played through all of its DLCs, too. Is this remaster a faithful recreation of everything from that version of the game? Pretty much, yeah.

I understand that a few cars were removed for the remaster. However, from what I’ve read online, the Carbon Motors E7 was removed because Carbon Motors no longer exists as a company, and the two Mercedes SLR McLarens(Mercedes McLaren 722 Edition and Mercedes McLaren Sterling Moss) due to Mercedes selling off their stake in McLaren starting back in 2009 and not completing until 2011(after the original NFS:HP 2010 release).

The first version I’ve bought since 2016. It is a great game, career mode very addictive if you’re into that sort of thing. I like the new interface (although I don’t know how new it is!), the way the races run is different but just as enjoyable and I think more realistic, and if there were no bugs then I’d be over the moon with the game in general. However…

I always play career mode and start with a custom team, and there are always bugs that come in after a few seasons that make the game incredibly frustrating (riders you’ve signed get double-signed by another team so you end up a few riders short in your squad, team sponsorship just stops working after a few seasons, change in nationality of team sponsors not accounted for in objectives, training schedules of lesser riders no longer editable etc etc). I am interested to see whether any of these have been fixed for this new edition, as they don’t become apparent straight away and I’m only 2 seasons into my game.

I buy and play this game year by year, with positive or less positive changes from an edition to another. But PCM21 mess up things in ITT and TTT, making time trials competitions PCM’s “cinderella”.

First, the producers introduce the red bar, I guess for sprinting in TT competitions, which is crazy. I don’t know when to use this energy from red bar. In TTT with 99 speed all riders of my team look like a bunch of amators (they accelerate and stop all the time).

Second thing is that in prologues and short ITT’s (until 15-20 km, depending on type of profile) with 85 speed the rider will finish the stage with energy left. If you go with speed over 85 you lose red bar. Crazy changes!

F1 2018

F1 2018

F1 2018 a sim-racers game or marketing hype?

So F1 2018 has been one of the bigger racing titles to come out this year, Codemasters have promised a lot from the simulation side of the game. In this review I will give my opinions on the game as of now, comparing it to the previous f1 titles and if this is starting to be a real sim-racers title or if it is just marketing hype.

What’s new and what’s good?

F1 2018 is the latest edition of the F1 series, Codemasters have promised a lot and I think they really stuck to their word, that being said I think the game has taken some huge steps forward. The drivers models has improved a lot in comparison to F1 2017 which I thought was lacking, on the contrary this is a pretty serious game. With Codemasters new tire ans suspension models the way the cars perform and handle has improve significantly over last years game. The force-feedback feels much more real, I can really feel the cerbs and changes in road texture when driving in the rain. I do not think F1 2018 can be compared to Assetto Corsa, rFactor 2 or any sim which main priority isn’t going to replicate a formula 1 car, they just handle way different, these are high downforce cars, they can’t be categorized in the same box as 1992 DTM cars, it’s not fair to do that. In comparison to last game you really get a sence of the tires moving across the tarmac, this is a big step in the right direction. Optimisation has also been improved which already was pretty good in the previous title, this is even better for the ones with older rigs. To me this is the first F1 title ever that makes me feel like I have been seated in a formula 1 racecar, rather then just being superficially placed there.

EDIT

a few patches have been released since the writing of my review, with that being said i stand by what i said in the review below, with every “fix” they bring they break 3-4 other things and sometimes the fix doesn’t even fix. its a shambloic, wasted, lackluster, half assed, lazy attempt by codemasters to try and rectify mistakes made in delopment and all they do with every patch is make things worse, please just stop codemasters, you’re not helping anyone and truth be told you haven’t helped anyone with anything in this franchise for a number of years now. below is a video of how much the “fix for multiplayer” fixes it…

Fight Crab

Fight Crab

Greetings!

It’s Very Good so far.

The best bits:

  • The feel. Bit of an “Armored Core” / Mechwarrior vibe to the control scheme, but with the added tactility of simulated physics

  • The UI. Smacks of Dreamcast-era arcade games

  • Customization. Pick and experiment with favorite strategies and weapons for the crabs you unlock; build their stats as you see fit

  • Co-op. As far as I can tell, your buddy can jump into any part of the campaign, without restrictions, and build up their own crab

I love this game. It’s got a sense of humor about itself; it’s interesting; there’s depth and variety…

I have not had this much fun with a game in years. I’m almost 40 now and most of the wonderment is gone for me with with gaming in general…I bought this for my kid for his birthday and grabbed it for me too, figuring I would sneak an hour in here and there with him–

Well he moved on to a different game near instantly and here I am grinding and looking for time to play this game. I like developing strategies and weird co-op tactics. It’s awesome to be excited to get home from work and actually want to play a game. I haven’t been this obsessed with a game in years. I’m not sure why but I love it.

Insurgency

Many of the games at a 60$ price aren’t worth that amount. This game is definitely worth MORE than 15. It doesn’t matter if it’s on sale, you should get this game and tell your friends to get it. Here is why:

I have accumulated over 1,200 hours on this game and have actually founded a competitive insurgency team. It’s only fair that I give the game the review it deserves. If you want to know about a lot about the game before you buy it, you’re reading the right review.

The Competitive Scene:

The competitive scene, while not as big as CSGO, has been mostly developed by the players-many of which have played the game for a long time. These leagues (DGL, ESL, ANZ) spread across every region of the world and have offered regional seasons, tournaments, draft tournaments and even world cups. No matter what region you are from, you can play this game. I’ve played with guys from South America, America and Canada, Eastern and Western Europe (from the UK to Ukraine), Australia and New Zealand, etc. The game does not boast ten’s of thousands of players but the players that play this game in the competitive scene are very dedicated. It is not as hard to learn how to play as it used to be because the game has been allowed to develop and the players have figured out how to play the different maps in general. If you’re wondering what “game type” the competitive scene revolves around, it’s a game mode with 3 points that you can capture, objectives similar to that of the battlefield genre or starwars battlefront. You own one, they start owning one, and then there is a neutral point. If you cap a point, you bring your whole team back. You start with 5 players and they start with 5 players, you fight to the death to kill the other team, using all sorts of strategies and tactics, but also try to potentially cap a point (or bait a cap) and bring the rest of your team back. Sounds fun as hell, right? It’s awesome.

I decided to hold off on writing a review until there were a few more updates and for me to have at least 500+ hours invested into the game. I am going to keep this straight up what i think about it as a whole with no fluff. Short and sweet.

Should you get it? It depends on what type of fps’s you like. Many CS players have fell in love with it because they like the realism and they’ve grown tired of the arcade feel that most other shooters have. Don’t doubt it for a second, this game is hard to pick up on but once you do, you realize how well reflexes really help if you’re rushing but don’t expect to be 360 no-scoping people because there is almost no chance in hell that that will happen. Those with good aim that are looking down sight as you turn a corner will get you every time so this is a game best played instinctively and safe (just don’t be one of those snipers that sit at spawn and let the enemy capture everything). There are few grenade, C4, or launcher spots that few people know of and use at the start of some maps which can be frustrating, so that is why I’m really hoping that much larger maps will be released in the future that are more open and don’t feel as constrained/guided (Heights and Buhriz are like that but i still love them). Maps that were easy to spawn camp have been updated heavily to prevent that which is great. The devs are absolutely brilliant at balancing and opening new areas of maps, always on top of it so kudos to them.
