Those that have played ZMR/Hazard ops before already know what they are getting into, its the same game, just a diffrent version that we havent seen in NA/EU before. The game is old, released first time around 2009 or so,a jankier smaller budget gears of wars. Cover mechanics, perfect reloads, fire from cover, all that jazz.

Dont expect any story from this game, its more of an old school arcade 3rd person shooter, and it can be fun in short bursts when it comes to gameplay itself. You choose a map in a lobby and shoot stuff. Several game modes that come down to 2 types in the end, small mini stories called Ops,and wave based survival.

Well I’ve been putting off writing a review but every time I come and look, I see that a negative review (from a guy who I see playing all the time) is the one getting all the attention.

It’s ZMR, Hazard Ops, Black Fire, whatever the hell else it’s been called.

BUT

You need to treat it like its a new game, because unlike the previous iterations there is many more systems added like the crafting, and maps dropping materials, and a whole lot of things that are on the way.

This game has one of the most dedicated playerbases ever, there have been people playing for years and years. But there’s a few players you’ll see every day who got burnt from previous versions being shut down, they’ll tell you the game will die soon and it’s pay to win and a whole lot of other things (while playing the game themselves).

WAR PARTY

WAR PARTY

I’m always looking for new RTS games since they are a rare thing these days. However, Im often very dissapointed by what I find.

Well, that is NOT the case with war party !!!

This game is only on early access but it’s impressive how good it is ! it’s easy to understand as it possesses a lot of classical RTS mechanics but also some new stuff that make the game deep, fun and challenging.

The + :

  • cool and unusual universe (caveman x dinos x vaudou) : You can produce some T-rex ans some mounted velociraptor or go with some witch doctor and zombies

As a long time supporter going back all the way back to the alpha, here are my thoughts about the game as of launch.

The strengths:

  • 3 asymmetric, visually distinct factions.

  • Will have a campaign in the full release.

  • Dedicated servers are near-flawless. Forget about desyncs, laggy gameplay due to peer to peer etc.

  • League-rank system just like in Starcraft 2.

  • Excellent matchmaking that expands search, starting at your ELO. This makes for close games once you stabilize your ELO.

Dino Eggs: Rebirth

Dino Eggs: Rebirth

A great homage to the original 1983 game, which is among my favorite Commodore games. Rebirth is just as addictive as its predecessor, and I love how the graphics, mechanics and sound effects all have elements that play off the original. My ONLY criticism is the atrocious kerning on the large scrolling cutscene text (I’m a graphic designer) - but otherwise I love it!

Having played the original since I was 7, I was quite intrigued by this reboot. I was not disappointed. It deftly straddles the line between nostalgic value and modern playability.

I have not yet played multiplayer with anyone as yet…hint hint, friends! 😸
