Detective Holmes: Trap for the Hunter. Hidden objects. 探し物

Detective Holmes: Trap for the Hunter. Hidden objects. 探し物

It’s ok, for the price.

Pros:

It’s got Hidden object scenes, spot the difference scenes and a few match pairs of things scenes, about 31 of them.

Cons:

No voice acting which is shame because it’d be amusing to hear someone try and act out the gibberish lines.

The text is badly translated to the point of mostly being gibberish.

The story is almost non-existant, this game is not ‘story-rich’, even if it was perfectly translated, I get the feeling it still wouldn’t make much sense.

The Game is 100% linear, there is no map, you simply go from scene A to B to C to D etc, but you can revisit previous scenes to improve you score and star rating of one to three stars. The game is easy to get 100% achievements IMO and hints can be used on most scenes without losing achievements.

I love hidden object games; I love Sherlock Holmes games. This game was not enjoyable very long, it got very boring very early on, and I didn’t have a desire to finish it.

First off, it goes straight into the game: no preamble, no cutscene, no opening dialog. Just a bubble of text or three from the 2 main characters (Holmes & Watson) and you’re instantly in the puzzle section. Now, this doesn’t sound like too bad of a thing, but most of these games at least have a few lines of dialog and a custcene to get things started.

SpyParty

SpyParty

Okay, so I never ever never write game reviews on steam. Until now, because SpyParty is such a great game, and I want to maybe get some people who treat the game like a party game to view it from a different angle, and to briefly sum up what the game is, and what it isn’t.

The gameplay/content:

The spy is hiding in the party, while the sniper tries to discern them from the innocent partygoers. So far, so easy; especially since when booting up the game for the first time, you will be presented with a severely simplified experience, as to not overwhelm a new player. Then new missions for the spy to complete, as well as fresh venues to play on will be unlocked after a certain number of wins, to gradually deepen the experience.

So I never really played video games until I found SpyParty. And what a challenge. At first glance, its EZPZ. You’ll jump into a mode where you learn 4 missions and play other people with just about the same number of games and play. You’ll play until you kind of figure out what you’re playing and then your world expands; A LOT. You get access to 4 other missions and the sniper has to look for more.

The more you play, the more you realize you need to be like the AI to succeed. Yes, you need to do missions but it takes SOOO much skill to know how to be an AI and not get shot by the top players of this game. I have 9000 games played and it still doesn’t cease to teach me new things about the game each time I die.

Vampire & Monsters: Mystery Hidden Object Games - Puzzle

Vampire & Monsters: Mystery Hidden Object Games - Puzzle

Short version: It’s mostly just HOGs like other Crisp App Studio games, but it is enjoyable enough.

There’s no real story here and no proper ending, this is purely a Hidden Object Game with a few spot the differences thrown in and a handful of rotate the tiles to make the picture (easy). Once you’ve discovered enough of the hidden objects you can choose to try to beat the scene within 2 minutes.

Each scene has a set of objects, each time you play the scene you get given roughly half of those objects to find.

Vampire & Monsters: Hidden Object Games - this is a logical game in the genre and adventure. The interface is very simple and clear, all this is expressed through bright and pleasant colors of shades, the whole game came out very colorful, which gives a big plus to the game. The characters themselves are very well developed and the background music is likewise interesting. Also, they improved the levels by adding in more than double the amount of items to find so if you replayed the level you are still finding new items. There are various tasks in the game: finding objects, finding differences, searching for the same items. At the same time, there are simple tasks, and there are those that you will have to break your head on.I recommend this for some casual, quiet fun with great graphics and objects for a super low price

Curious Cases

Curious Cases

My friend and I completed this together, both in VR. The graphics are good, the environments are well-designed, and the puzzles are interesting and mostly fair. We encountered a handful of bugs, but nothing game-breaking. Occasionally one of us would pick up an item and it would appear in the other’s hand. Once, we entered a correct code, got the “success” noise, but the door wouldn’t open. Luckily, we were able to reach inside and remove the items through the door anyway.

We were stuck for a long time in the first room on a puzzle that requires a numeric code. We’d just played this developer’s Tales of Escape, which is very similar. In that game, every lock requires exactly 4 digits. It wasn’t until we relented and got a hint that we realized this one needed 5 digits. Also, the code in the hint had two digits transposed.

I would say this is a great escape room-like puzzle game with friends, it might be tedious or annoying by yourself.

It’s got some rather interesting puzzles/riddles, and it’s well worth it’s price for what it offers, so I’d recommend it.

As for a VR experience, it’s mediocre at best, but works. That’s my summary of the review, if you want to read a bit more, see below.

One gripe I would have would be the sync between players in your game. You could’ve thrown an object across the room, yet the other player sees you drop it, the other player picks it up, then drops it normally and it falls through the ground for both players, requiring you to reset items. Or, items just wouldn’t be there for one or both of the players, causing you to reset items. You will be doing this often.

Detective Sherlock Pug - Hidden Object. Relaxing games

Detective Sherlock Pug is a hidden object-adventure game. In this game introduces the 360 degree panoramic levels, which are great fun. Great graphics and very easy to play. The story is simple and understandable. I’d recommend it for those that just want a casual object finding game.

An excellent casual game with an interesting history, we are looking for objects, collecting puzzles, solving puzzles and much more, the game is not very long, but playing is very interesting + you can cross the game to break your record, it will be interesting to pass through, because the puzzles change every time, the game worth every ruble spent, did not regret spending time on it

Escape First 3

Escape First 3

If you’re a fan of escape the room games all the different deliveries by Onskull Games are very recommended. The Escape First saga is one of their best. Technically speaking all of them have problems, repeated with each delivery, like objects clipping through other objects and surfaces, free locomotion which is incredibly slow and sometimes does not work, strange configurations for the controls (on Index at least), the scale is totally off sometimes, etc, nothing that you can’t forgive or solve by resetting objects, though.

We generally really enjoyed the game but we hat huge peoblems regarding bugs!! We were a party of 3 and did the chair riddle, where they had to face a certain direction. We got into an argument because I said my chair is facing front, friend one said its facing back, and friend two said its facing right. Turns out, all of us were correct because for some reason the game displayed the room differently for all of us which made the riddle unsolvable! and in the end, when the bookshelve opens friend one saw it open and went through, I didnt see it open, but just ghost ran thrugh the shelve, but friend two got stuck in the wall. Super fun concept, but very frustrating and at times unplayable. Very dissapointed because the premise and riddles themselves were fun…

Time Trap - Hidden Objects Puzzle Game

Time Trap - Hidden Objects Puzzle Game

very creepy vibe throughout game which is brought about by the advancing story such as is through notes and the music. The game is not long as I completed it in a little over an hour and a half but you can go back or as you go along in the story to get stars (up to three per scene} for achievements as well as completing each scene in under two minutes. When you get a three star you probably beat the two minute speed setting. this extended my play another four hours. While the object placement in scene repeats don’t change it was still fun to work the short term memory muscle. Purchased game at a 20% discount through a packaged sale but I say it’s worth the full price.

Time Trap is one of those games that I enjoy but have a hard time putting my finger on exactly why. The presentation has a lot to be desired, and the writing could certainly use some polishing up by an English speaking proof reader. But the story isn’t why I’m here. Despite the abundance of HOPAs on Steam, there’s a dearth of pure hidden object games on the platform. And sometimes I just want to load up a game and shut my brain down while I search for objects on my screen.

And search for objects I did. Actually, if you’re working towards 100%-ing the game, you’ll be playing each scene over and over until you’ve successfully collected all of the items and scored 3 stars. While this admittedly can be a bit of a grind, I found it quite enjoyable. Learning all of the objects' placements and quickly picking them out was satisfying in a way that’s hard to describe. Using the HINT button for those particularly difficult to find items doesn’t feel like much of a penalty either, but it’s actually nice to have a HOG that doesn’t enforce no-hint playthroughs for achievements. For those looking for even more challenge, there are leader boards for each HOS. This was something I wasn’t particularly interested in myself, but it adds replay for those who are so inclined.
