My Name is Mayo 2

My Name is Mayo 2

best thing since “my name is mayo”, the first installment. i laughed, i cried, i got aroused. the layout for the story is a lot easier to follow. it was a bit of an emotional roller coaster. hours of entertainment while still remaining relaxing. and that finally was awe inspiring. for those that didn’t like it is either broken or was playing the wrong game. would absolutely recommend to anyone that enjoys clicking mayo and mayo similar items. all thats missing is the multiplayer.

A Sketchbook About Her Sun

A Sketchbook About Her Sun

Essentially it’s an animated music album with some simple sketches for every song. I assume the visuals were created for the music and not the other way around, but the game still has a narrative as we follow the same individual that goes through melancholy, heartbreak, and possibly depression. You can also just pick the songs from the main menu, but I am not sure if I unlocked the feature at the end. I believe the 11 songs make the full album, so it’s kind of like buying a soundtrack. I am not sure if there is any purpose to the choices that you can make during the songs, I assume those are for the 2 optional achievements. I guess it depends on how much you like the music, for myself, I liked more than half of the songs, and even for the songs that I didn’t love, I still enjoyed the lyrics. Don’t take this as a criticism because I honestly don’t care if the singer has a perfect voice, but I enjoyed her voice more within a lower range. Also, I noticed some guitar clipping which I feel should be cleaned up in the processing. Aside from those small nitpicks, I enjoyed the album overall and I will be playing it when I draw for months ;). I know not many people like paying for music on Steam, but I am all for it personally, especially this cheap. I always like to list my favorites, and that would be the ‘Planet X’, ‘Document’ and ‘Human Copy’ (I only wish you reused the part in the end of HC once in the middle, too).

The Grandfather

The Grandfather

I only had one grandfather in my life…and he was an *sshole…

I’ve honestly been debating whether I should redeem that key I had to The Grandfather for over a year now…but it seems the developer made my decision super easy by making his games free as of July 2018 (whether this is permanent or temporary, I have no idea). It’s a short game that’s about 20-30 minutes long, but is it worth your time?

The Grandfather is a game about a lonely grandfather who has suffered from neglect from his wife for several years and ended up waking up as a floating head roaming his house, eliminating all sources of light while he finds his missing body parts and ultimately finding his freedom…which makes me wonder how it’s based on a true story if it’s about a floating disembodied head…was the developer personally familiar with floating heads in his grandfather’s home? And why didn’t the grandfather just get a divorce if he was so miserable?

Real player with 1.0 hrs in game

The Grandfather is a short puzzle game that will most likely last you 30-45 minutes.

First of all, the narrators voice is way to low, she is almost barely audible the first time you hear her. I suggest getting this fixed. Let it be known that this was the only issue in the game, I did not encounter any other bugs or issues so it’s definetly a stable and well made game.

The Grandfather is a wonderfully illustrated horror game that tells you about a sad miserable grandfather who has never been loved by anyone, including his wife who enjoys torturing him emotionally by giving him the scariest version of the stink eye ever.

Alum

Alum

** Το παιχνίδι ολοκληρώθηκε ** (For English scroll down)

Real player with 12.6 hrs in game

Alum reminds me of my impressions of The Chronicles of Narnia. When a teenager, I was quite excited about the series until I read some critics. Then my reaction was like, “What?! This wonderful lion, Aslan, is no more than old boring Jesus? Oh no!” However, Alum’s creators aren’t as subtle as C. S. Lewis; their approach is more like that of Superbook.

You play as a member of religiously driven anarcho-primitivist gang of those who use terror as a way to convince people and would destroy the city’s central heating system just to make people “think out of a box” and “understand things wider” (?!). The Rogations (that’s their name, but it probably should be The Rogues) blame their contemporaries (modern people) that they live in industrialized society and can no longer be guided by “faith” as it were in the Middle Ages; if so, Middle Ages should be returned artificially. Does it remind you some, so to say, not very good people (from the real world)?!
