The Lot

The Lot

Take an atmospheric journey in a fresh, critically acclaimed format of a hand-drawn point-and-click comic-book. When a freeloading owner of a blue Mustang drives through without paying for the ticket, Harry Hunter, freelance parking attendant, ventures inside the lot to Make. Him. Pay. ™.

Just like our other interactive comics, upon finishing the game you can print out your entire adventure path in the form of an actual 30-50 page comic book. In response to (very positive! :) ) player feedback on previous games, this adventure includes multiple paths, endings and side-quests spanning thousands of lines of dialog tightly packed in a 2 hour narrative.

Gameplay

  • every interaction in the game world (such as talking, picking up items, using objects etc.) creates a new comic panel, furthering the story

  • hundreds of unique hand-drawn (and hand-scanned!) content rich panels for all the various combinations

  • improved replay value with multiple endings, sidequests, achievements and many different ways to solve the game mysteries

  • when the player ends the game, he is given the option to print out his gameplay in a comic book format

  • a new game+ option with a developer commentary track when you finish the game

I think this game’s charming in its way. It has quite a unique gameplay that I think it’s worth a try.

Gameplay is somewhat demanding. It’s kinda like playing papers please, but have to check about 2-4 different documents all at once and it is up to the players to make a split judgement where to send where.

The game is quite difficult, but I think anyone can get used to the game over time.

Story is short? I think? I haven’t seen all the endings (cuz the game’s hard..), but in terms of building an overall environment and the characters were interesting enough for what this game is worth.

Dark Threads

Dark Threads

My initial experience was…. well I could not move from I spawn and I kept getting a little ways into the prologue before weird things would happen like I would fly out of the map or stop being able to move around.

I still don’t know if it was my computer or not but I reinstalled the game and played it again and things seem to work great with the exception of some objects causing me to walk backwards when I pick them up.

If you enjoy sci fi and/or walking simulators you will enjoy this game. It is clear a lot of time and care has gone into production values.

Its alright. Would give it a neutral review if I could. Positive just because I like that the Canadian government is helping fund VR experiences like this.

Short (roughly ~1.5 hours) sci-fi experience (aka “walking simulator”) with a very overt environmental message. Production values are alright but many of the textures are very low-res. Little interactivity beyond walking slowly and picking things up.

It wasn’t bad, but I have to say I was slightly underwhelmed at the end. It needed either better production values or a longer, more fleshed out story to be truly memorable.

Henchman Story

Have you ever wanted to work for a super villain well you can with this visual novel sign up today and you even get your own custom henchman uniform and locker and the perk of working for the greatest super villain the world has ever known. An amazing visual novel about being a henchman for a goofy super villain boss and interacting with other henchmen, superheroes and super villains. The story is pretty good the characters are all pretty interesting and remember able the voice acting also for this game is great. the writing also for this visual novel is pretty good there were times in this visual novel that I laughed and thought was interesting and then there were times where I was actually was interested in the fighting scenes of the visual novel and what would happen next in the scenes following up. Overall I have enjoyed playing this visual novel and getting the endings I have already gotten and I am going to continue getting all the endings that I can get for this visual novel.

I have never reviewed a game since I have my account on steam so this will be my first review but I cannot let this gem of a visual novel go unnoticed.

Its characters, its humor, its soundtrack and especially Stan, its protagonist, are so refreshing and funny that I can not find any complaints. If we talk about replayability I can’t make any criticism either, there are a lot of little things that change completely as the scenes unfold, and not to mention the various endings that there are, some will make you feel like the worst human being in history and the others as the happiest person of all.

Chair F*cking Simulator

Chair F*cking Simulator

Erotic. Sublime. A wonderful experience with which to pass the time.

Chair Fcking Simulator, henceforth known as CFS offers a unique outlook into the lifestyle of sxually uninhibited, potato shaped being. Browsing through profiles on postcards, Potato-Like Man picks one perfect and sexy piece of furniture with which to do the deed.

Friends, let me tell you that I’d been quivering with anticipation up to this point but when the actual act began, ohhh, what art. Potato-man slams his vegetable groin into a variety of sultry seats. Thus far, my most beloved memory was Potato grinding his shapely buttocks (You can do that too in case you don’t feel especially thrusty) into a spitting image of Ol' Sparky complete with blue electric light.

Absolutely my favorite experience that I have ever had with any f**king sim.

Graphics:

The graphics are pretty stellar for a game about chair… buffing. Your character really gives off the vibes that they are the last thing alive in the immersive world, but we’ll get to setting in a moment. Overall, 7/10 in graphics. Great, but I don’t necessarily feel like I’m buffing a chair.

Story:

The story is barebones, if there at all, but you can grasp the rough points:

*You are the last living thing that isn’t a chair

Overboard!

Overboard!

I never expected getting away with murder would be this fun! I thought Overboard would be a straightforward piece of interactive fiction, a few different routes to a few different endings, a great story along the way. Instead what I found was a deceptively simple game with a ton of moving parts. Everyone you share the ship with has their own routines, agendas and information, all of which are stacked against you. When you start this game, you will almost certainly fail. It’s through multiple (very quick!) playthroughs that you’ll begin to piece together what’s going on, what everyone’s hiding and what gaps in their knowledge you can exploit.

In the past few years, Inkle has really won me over as a fan by putting out interesting and inventive narrative games like Heaven’s Vault and Pendragon, giving interesting an informative talks on game design at narrative-focused game conventions, and maintaining their popular trademark design tool, Ink, which is available for anyone to use. Overboard, their newest title, is a surprise release, completely unannounced prior to dropping on the storefront yesterday.

In Overboard, we meet an attractive young femme fatale who, in the opening scene, impulsively seizes an opportunity to get rid of her crappy husband by pushing him off of the deck of an ocean liner. The next morning, we step into her shoes, and have one in-game day to help her cover up the crime before the resident Poirot-like detective connects the dots and sends her to jail. To succeed, you will have to lie convincingly and keep your lies consistent. You must search the ship to locate and dispose of evidence without drawing suspicion onto yourself. Meanwhile, find out what your fellow passengers know about the crime and bribe, blackmail, drug, or seduce them into silence. If that doesn’t work, find a more violent way of getting rid of any witnesses. If you are really skilled, you might be able to pin the crime on someone else to collect that sweet, sweet life insurance money.

Hell Invades Heaven

Hell Invades Heaven

Read carefully, as this story is too boring to read it again.

You, an absolutely newbie hellish commander, gain the possibility* to prove that all rumors about your person are at least 28% wrong, and you are in fact capable of commanding small forces in the greatest Hell vs Heaven war that ever happened**.

Put on your Unterleutnant uniform and do your job.

What you probably want to know:

  • 15*** almost beautiful, challenging levels on Hell, Earth and Heaven scenery.

  • 10 different minions, so you don’t need to do everything yourself.

  • A lot of challenging puzzles that may be impossible to solve for people under 5 y.o.

  • Interesting dialogues for full silent cinema experience.

  • You can decorate Devil with tattoos****.

  • Beware of holy water!

_* of course if you buy or torrent game, otherwise you will be seen as uncappable of this tasks for the rest of your life

** at least in this dimension; C137 and D2R2 are much more interesting in this case

Rock ‘n’ Roll Will Never Die!

Rock ‘n’ Roll Will Never Die!

For some of us, the 1980s never ended. The true scene veterans persevered through the changing trends in music, fashion and common decency, keeping glam rock alive through sheer stubbornness and detachment from reality. When one of the least successful bands in hair metal decides it’s time for a comeback, no one is safe. They may have put on a few pounds and lost some of their graying hair, but their rocking power and sex appeal are still… Uh, as questionable as ever? But this time they’re sure to make it big. This time rock ‘n ‘roll will never die!
