UMvc3 pros

  • It has some cool characters people wanted to play as in a fighting games for ages like dante and arthur and stuff

  • It’s easier so you don’t need to worry about things like tricky finger puzzles or blocking or thinking in order to win sometimes and that’s good because everyone wants to win

  • I like the little pie chart showing you how much of a scrub you are

  • It looks really good, while capcom cut so many corners on this game it’s a circle, they didn’t scimp on the animation. there’s even small things like characters moving their eyes to follow each-other and people having mist breath on the snow stage

It’s Mahvel. It’s also MT Framework, so the port is great. The netcode isn’t the best but I’ve heard that’s a problem across the board with all of the re-released MVC3 ports. Playing it on PC with higher FPS than console and in a crisper resolution is a treat.

Bit of cons first -

I will warn you - as someone who played the game semi-competitively in it’s hayday, the online is not very welcoming. You will get trashed by people that have had over 5 years to practice and play. As with any fighter, there’s a strong learning curve and UMVC3 is the definition of “touch of death” combos. The game is very, very fast in comparison to other fighters. Because of that, it’s easy to get frustrated and it can absolutely be considered a flaw. I don’t want to act like this game’s perfect - it’s not. Vergil is still in the game and it’s more or less unpatched since the last update we had on consoles. There’s alot of broken things in the game, I would not pick this up expecting the world’s most balanced and competitive game.

SpellPunk VR

SpellPunk VR

I am not into writing reviews but I think that SpellPunk is underestimated, that is why I decided to say something about it. I truly enjoy this game. It is hard to find a good spellcasting vr game with beautiful graphics, working controls and entertaining gameplay. SpellPunk has all of these. The game is super immersive. I truly admire that its developers have gone the extra mile giving us the possibility to play with a full-body avatar instead of the usual flying hands. This feature makes me feel like I am a pure-blood magician. I can’t find the words to explain the feeling of winning a magical duel after successfully casting your spells. I feel even more powerful than a Harry Potter wizard, because I don’t even need a wand. How amazing is this?

TLDR; Worth supporting, but a long way to go.

This game is a work in progress, there are definitely some wrinkles that need to be ironed out. Having said that, there is a lot of charm to the concept of core gameplay. I feel like there’s a lot of potential and while you may not love the game now, it could grow into something special with support. There are a lot of problems that I will lay out so while I am giving it my recommendation, it’s current state may not satisfy you. Here we go.

Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite

Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite

TL;DR: A fun, yet disappointing game with a questionable future that at the end of the day does disservice to both Marvel and Capcom brands.

The Marvel vs. Capcom series is one that I hold dear in my heart. And this game’s gameplay is a deserving continuation of that series' tradition of fun, frantic and chaotic fighters with immense depth.

Unfortunately it would be remiss of me to recommend this game in its current form, at its current price, even with the current discount at the time of this writing. The game just simply doesn’t have anything besides its gameplay, with a lacklustre cast of characters mostly imported from Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, tremendously disappointing and at times just plain ugly graphics that pale in most regards with its predecessor, mediocre soundtrack with a complete disregard to the series' legacy and some remixes that are… not good and questionable at best UX decisions, with menus that appear to be placeholders and yet still somehow manage to cause lag.

Don’t waste your money on this game. It’s already discounted for 33% off because of poor sales; but if you want the full game you’ll need to drop a ridiculous amount of money on DLC anyway, so what the discount actually saves you is closer to 2%.

Gameplay:

The game is actually pretty fun. They dumbed down some of the controls from previous installments, but it adds a new instant tag out system and still boasts an extraordinary amount of depth. Unfortunately, not all of the new inclusions are as fun in higher level play.

Injustice: Gods Among Us Ultimate Edition

Injustice: Gods Among Us Ultimate Edition

This game has aged well and still stands on its own merits, even with Injustice 2 available. A fun, casual friendly fighter with a decent story and good overall direction. The characters all look and feel great. In truth, I prefer this to the sequel in a lot of ways. That said, this recommend comes with some hefty caveats:

1. S.T.A.R. Labs is a set of hundreds of side-missions added to the game to pad its length. They generally involve either a flash-game quality arcade style minigame or a semi-normal fight with your arms tied behind your back and/or major RNG components. They are godawful, but there’s an achievement tied to completing them all with the best score possible (but only requires completing 240/300 missions since the last 60 are DLC), so they’re unavoidable if you’re an achievement hunter. I can’t express enough how terribly designed and balanced this aspect of the game is and it was almost enough for me to leave a negative review. Grinding them out is a truly awful gameplay experience, which I think the devs realized since the skins we’d normally have to unlock there come pre-unlocked in this version.

“Gods Among Us: Anyone can be a Hero”

Fighting games have long since descended from their all-conquering dizzying heights (in the 80’s and 90’s) to become almost a niche genre, as both games and gamers diversify. Within this evolving landscape, ‘Injustice: Gods Among Us (The Ultimate Edition)’ manages to brawl its way into contention as a polished, well crafted fighter, that despite its issues, is a fine addition to any Fight Game enthusiast’s collection.

Campaign: Released in late 2013, NetherRealm | Warner Bros. follow up on the commercial success of ‘Mortal Kombat: The Komplete Edition’ by essentially replicating that game within the DC Comics universe. The ‘Campaign’ mode follows the story arc from the ‘Injustice’ comic books, wherein a crazed Joker has killed Lois Lane and detonated a nuclear device in Metropolis. The game picks up with an enraged Superman asserting martial law over the planet and slowly turning from protector to oppressor. Narrated through well conceived animated cut-scenes and interspersed with 1-on-1 battles, gamers assume control of all their favorite characters as well as some others they might not have been so inclined to. The usual suspects are all here – from Batman, Superman, The Joker, Lex Luthor, Wonder Woman, Harley Quinn, Green Arrow and Bane to a host of newer faces like Doomsday, Solomon Grundy, Frost, DeathStroke and Aquaman. A variety of Single Player Arcade-style Tournaments, Challenges, and lots of unlockable comic lore round out a content-rich title.

Injustice™ 2

General Information

Injustice 2 is my second fighting game ever, the first being MKX. The game plays very similar, with some slight differences such as the clashing system replacing the breaker system, and the blocking system all together. You’ll like Injustice 2 if you enjoy other NRS fighters.

MICROTRANSACTIONS

Since microtransactions are currently a hot topic in the gaming community, I thought I would mention how microtransactions impact Injustice 2, and the gameplay.

You like DC characters? You like fighting games with deep mechanics? Then this is the game for you.

Injustice 2 is an EXCELLENT fighting game. The mechanics are quite similar to Injustice: Gods Among Us but definetly have been improved. I like to think of Injustice 2 as an alternative updated version of Mortal Kombat X just with new additions. Speaking of that Injustice 2 does offer some new things such as, the gear system, a loot box system, (which is actually done really damn well) multiverses, and having the AI to play battles for you.

Space Mavericks

Get a spaceship, travel through galaxies and fight battles for your freedom!

Add Space Mavericks to your wishlist, contribute to the development, get access to early versions and exclusive benefits!

Coming Soon!

Still under development, Space Mavericks is a multiplayer artillery action game that is recreating the classic artillery style of aiming and shooting by adjusting the angle and power. However, the game is adding a few unique features to the genre:

  • Unlike most artillery games, Space Mavericks is played in Real-Time;

  • The game is set in space, and shots are affected by planets' gravity forces as they travel to reach the target;

  • Projectiles cause damage and can destroy planets and stars;

  • A variety of commanders and spaceships that have different kinds of attributes, shots, and special moves;

  • A diversity of multiplayer modes prepared with ranking systems for the competitive scenario;

  • An adventure mode with a rich story and giant bosses;

  • Fast, fun, and addictive.

Aim and Move

As with any classic artillery game, you can aim, shoot and move by adjusting the weapon’s angle and power. Be aware that gravity forces will interfere with your movement and shots!

Trajectory Projection

To help you deal with gravity interference, have the spaceship AI simulate the shot’s trajectory. An excellent strategy to check where you’re aiming to and avoid generating heat for nothing.

Heat

Heat dissipation is one of the most significant challenges in space, and that’s no different in Space Mavericks. Moving, defending and shooting will generate heat, so use it wisely.

Special Shots

Every Commander has their own unique shots, skills and special powers. Learn their abilities and specials to dominate battles against your enemies.

Choose a Commander that suits your Maverick style on battles. Each of them have unique powers and spaceship abilities. Level them up for unique skins!

We’re creating new Commanders in a regular basis, together with new abilities, spaceships and powers to give to them. What kind of power do you seek? Share your opinion with us.

Check out the Commanders we have so far:

  • Prophet DX7: A versatile commander that can shoot multiple projectiles at once;

  • Goliath: A natural leader that can take a lot of damage to conquer his enemies;

  • Salomea: Damage over time and great Heat control;

  • Locus: A solo sniper with serious damage and teleport powers;

  • Zurr: Combines her unique ability to avoid gravity on the shots or to create massive explosions.

The Universe is so vast, filled with infinite alien species and mysterious technology. Each Commander has their unique spaceship with different attributes, abilities and ultimate powers.

Fight with style! Besides unique powers, you can unlock new fabulous spaceship skins.

You can use your skills to face off other Mavericks from all over the Universe! You’ll be able to create battlegrounds for up to 8 players and customize them with different settings.

-I absolutely love this game. First game in a long time where Im actually enjoying myself.

-Its a arcade shooter with a 90’s nostalgia mixed with a new age twist.

-No perk system,No cheesy over powered game mechanics. Its all about your aim,movement and taking cover. All about raw skill. When you get a kill you actually feel accomplished because you know it was all based on your ability to outaim and outstrafe your opponent.

-The powerups (super jump, speed boost, damage boost) arent overpowered. Just enough of a edge tipped in your favor but not enough to make you over confident and untouchable.

Game is a blast highly recommend getting this one!

Cons: when you set a player limit others can still join in your server/game. so if you want to 1v1 a friend you could end up with a 3rd rando.

please make the primary and secondary gun scrollable i hate that you have to press 1 or 2

make a helmet boost

food spawns are limited

cash grab is kinda odd but fun

no 1st person

other then that the maps are cool, ( a few more would be nice and a tad bigger. I have found i run around the whole map a lot.
