Figment 2: Creed Valley - Prologue
i wish i could give this a positive review, i truly do, but i simply cannot because of the black hog fight (the i think last one, the on that stage), it is so buggy, unfair, and simply frustrating. even without all those bugs it would be extremely frustrating, but i do look forward to the full game where i’m sure this will be fixed.
Edit: i managed to do it eventually, and it seems they fixed it so i changed my review, also btw theres a bug before, during, and after the fight with the dialogue where that bird (forgot her name) keeps repeating her “watch out dusty!” line, even after the fight and before even going on the stage.

I really want to highly recommend this game but the reasons I’m about to go into, I can’t. I would, however, say get this game if you like a short but pretty ok dungeoncrawler one shot.
TL:DR
Pros:
-
Dungeoncrawling aspect done well
-
Beautiful art, beautiful characters
-
Diverse cast
-
Interesting characters
Cons:
-
Shallow glimpses into the characters and finishes right as you start to care
-
No replay motivation (save for wanting to see dialogue)
-
Only 1 female dating option

Verona Beach – a chill place to spend the summer. Especially in a rent-free apartment previously occupied by your cousin. Kind of him to offer you the space, even if he’s one of the most obnoxious and interfering people you’ll ever meet. But hey, families – can’t pick ‘em.
But you can pick lovers, and that’s part of the reason you’re here. See, you’ve never had a date. Not even once. Your cousin, under some duress from your mother, has been assigned your wingman, but it won’t be long before you’re able to make connections at your own pace.

El Tango de la Muerte
El Tango de la Muerte:
It takes two to tango, isn’t what they say! What if someone wants to tango but has two left feet? The image in my mind is that a person would have his upper body leaning toward the right in order to compensate for his/her unfortunate tendency to deviate to their left side. Joking aside, what would you do if your childhood sweetheart was a great Tango dancer, and you discovered that you actually had not two, but three left feet? You’d probably ask someone to help you out, right? That is exactly what Luciano did. He asked his best friend Julio to teach him how to find the secret of his right foot. Otherwise, it would truly become El Tango de la Muerte!

A fresh and highly unique spin on the rhythm genre. You're basically trying to follow the pattern as it appears on the floor with various flourishes that you can hit for added effect. While this sounds simple, picking up on the rhythm can be tough and you'll feel exactly as awkward as someone dancing poorly would in real life, but when you finally get the beat down and hit that string of notes just right, it feels _amazing_
The theme and story are also very fun. I can honestly say I've never played a game about Argentenian ballroom dancing before. The storyline is like a soap opera gangster story and it's surprisingly well-written with some memorable characters and fun over-the-top melodrama.

This game is 70% story, 40% movement, 20% sass, and 90% scientific fact. Do not question. You're going to explore a mansion, use tools, smash nerds, and acquire items. Use KBM or a controller. I feel most comfortable using my original xbox controller.

## Yaga
This is an excellent game for all those who love the RPG genre and are too tired of the same old dragons and goblins setting.
What looks to be initially a fairly simple game, manifests itself into a variety of play-styles depending on which tool you favour you can be a powerful hulk or a rogue style assassin or a swashbuckling Indiana Jones type or a Sword and Board sentinel. After the first playthrough, you realise the enormous number of options that were available to you. I started my 2nd and 3rd playthroughs as soon as I was done with the previous.

If i had to use a single word to describe this game, that word would be: charming.
The game has its qualities and has its fair share of shortcomings, but it does manage to stand out of the crowd through its unique mix of a story inspired from Russian folktales, and a music inspired from archaic Romanian folklore.
The general idea of this game is to take various elements from Slavic folklore and bring them together as game mechanics in a light-hearted action-rpg.
The idea itself is pure genius, the execution….not so much.

## HIVESWAP: ACT 2
Hmm, a bit of a divide I'm seeing at the moment regarding Act 2\. Allow me to give my 2 cents.
It's not quite what I expected for the follow-up to Act 1, taking place mostly in one location (the train), and I feel that it suffers slightly for it. BUT I still had a good time and appreciate what Act 2 offered. Allow me to go into further detail, addressing some criticisms.
The most odd and immediate criticism I see is regarding the Bee-focused mini-game that happens early-on.
**Note: It now appears as if said mini-game was removed due to backlash? A shame, really, as people were only asking for the option to skip it if they couldn't get past that spot, not for complete removal. But here is my breakdown on the complaints of it nonetheless.**
*– [Real player with 18.6 hrs in game](http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198122244584)*
TLDR: The game is fine, but not outstanding. It's perfectly mediocre. Get it if you've already played the first one, skip it if you don't know what Homestuck is.
This will not be a spoiler-free review.
========= The Good =========
- Music is lovely, Toby Fox and James Roach always know how to deliver. I love the evolution of the train theme and the variations that play throughout. The serene music in the beginning is great, with Charun's cave entrance (Above Sea Level) and Zebede's farm (Raw Honey).

## The Haunted Island, a Frog Detective Game
Words can't describe how much of a masterpiece this "game" is, but I'll give it shot.
I put game in quotes, because you can't really call this a game, its more of a vivid memory of your distant self who is a frog detective. The instant I clicked on the "New Game" button I became Frog Detective.
Thanks to the innovative key bindings my keyboard and mouse could truly become an extension of my body, which only resulted in letting this experience become more real. Even though I only have 50 min in this "game" it felt like I went through an entire life of pure joy.

**Short game and with childish art style but somehow unique and charming!**
Developed by Grace Bruxner and Thomas Bowke, The Haunted Island, a Frog Detective Game is a short (~1h) by enjoyable adventure that puts you in the role of a lovely froggy detective, who is phoned by his supervisor to investigate a strange case. On an island ruled by Martin, a sloth who crowned himself king, unexplained noises can be heard from crevices. The sloth’s first reaction is to call in a group of ghost scientists, who spend the next two weeks trying to figure out what is going on. Trying, but certainly not succeeding. That is where the Frog Detective, come in.
