First impression: free good box pusher (Sokoban) puzzle game.

Press left-arrow on the first screen to switch to English!

The basic mechanic is pushing boxes to their target destination. Then you get flame squares to avoid (or burn up useless boxes), ice cubes to douse fires, stone plinths, rolling rocks, and more, to vary the strategies that are necessary to solve a level. There are 100 levels, all unlocked, rated by difficulty. I’ve tried 17 so far, skipping quite a few to have a look at the new mechanics.

Pushy Worm

Pushy Worm

In Pushy Worm, you play as daddy worm who leaves home to collect fruit for his 3 hungry kids. The puzzles appear simple at first but gradually get more challenging and will make you consider your every move. Your spatial awareness and forward planning skills will be fully tested in this cute but deceptively tricky puzzle game.

Features:

  • Control a 3 block worm with Sokoban style movement and physics

  • Climb fences and push/stack/carry items to solve the various puzzles

  • Avoid obstacles such as spikes and use bombs to blow up terrain and forge new paths for daddy worm to traverse through

  • Includes multiple theme-based worlds with non-linear paths through the levels

  • Unlimited undo allows you to experiment with different solutions without needing to restart the level from scratch if a mistake is made

This is a pretty good game for the price. The gameplay is unique and stays interesting throughout the run of the game, and although not every puzzle is a hit, there are quite a few really good ones that make the game worth getting. The biggest critique I have is that I wish there was an undo system so I didn’t have to restart the whole level because I accidentally pressed right one too many times, but the levels are generally short enough that restarting isn’t too big of an issue and I was still able to 100% the game pretty quickly.

Smintheus

Smintheus

The start of the game felt quite janky and it’s mechanics bugged me out. I especially hated how the water works since it just didn’t feel intuitive from a gameplay sense. Later on it feels its gotten better, and it has it’s fun moments from time to time. Still I felt there is a lack of real focus on what it wants to be. Maybe those who are into adventure puzzle games may enjoy it, but I was here more for the RPG aspect which felt quite lacking.

Maybe take it during a sale, as I don’t think its worth the full price.

This game plays like a 2005 flash game. I’m sure the dev put $15 of effort into the game but it certainly does not feel like a $15 experience. Quit mid-way through the 3rd level.

Negatives:

  • Fairly unresponsive controls that made you feel like you were walking too far when you shouldn’t be (the game punishes you for walking into water walls which makes the unresponsive controls the more painful)

  • Graphics look like some kind of first-draft pixel art

  • Weird tutorial that has you attempt to unlock doors only to then allow you to collect keys for them?

Roll The Cat

Roll The Cat

I’ve got a cat that gets me up at night myself, so, when I saw this game, I had to play it.

And what can I say - good old Sokoban, cat-themed, with good art style - how can it not be good?

♫ Off, off with your head ♫

♫ Dance, dance till you’re they’re dead ♫

Finally fully completed the game, here are some of my thoughts

The puzzles:

1.The mechanic is pretty simple, you move stuff around, avoid sunlight, there will be more stuff in the later levels, like flag and cart, but won’t be too complicated.

2. In order to collect the skulls in the standard levels, you need to complete the level in limited time, actions and sunlight turns,I think this makes the game more interesting and harder, since you need to find out the most effective ways to complete a level

Felix the Reaper is a top-down grid-based puzzle game about being a trainee reaper, setting up cruel and unusual deaths for people.

The core gameplay is pretty simple. As a reaper, you can only move in the shadows. There are four primary ways to manipulate shadows:

  1. You can shift the direction of the shadows by 90 degrees.

  2. You can pick up and move boxes, barrels, and similar items to cast shadows.

  3. You can throw levers to move objects around in the environment.

  4. You can stand on buttons (or place objects on buttons) to move objects around in the environment.

SokoBunny

SokoBunny

Warehouse box stacking bunny themed game, with a twist

Easier on multiplayer than solo and quite a bit more fun

Cars randomly drive through the field, AI bunnies help each other learn to stack boxes

Bunny football seems to have some bizarre rules involving low gravity & space tackling

There are no rules here and even kicking your opponent into the net counts as a goal!

Quite a few easter eggs and secrets for those who explore

There’s even a secret currency for additional buffs and benefits

Varied sizes and layouts keep it fresh as you improve

My girlfriend has limited movement and we were looking for a good game to play with the adaptive controller from Xbox. I remember playing this on a crap phone in Mexico and I hoped there was a version on steam. This game is awesome. We have only done training mode and here I am reviewing it. It’s great!!

Wark & Wimble

Charming and challenging in equal measure, Wark & Wimble has tickled my brain more than any game in recent memory. The puzzles are difficult yet the game mechanics, like the ability to instantly restart or immediately take back moves, remove a great deal of frustration and make it entertaining straight through.

A fun puzzle game in the spirit of Adventures of Lolo. Don’t be fooled by the adorable graphics, the challenge ramps up nicely as you go.
