The Phantom Fellows

Oliver Cobblestone can communicate with a dead- not the dead, but rather one Englebert Picklebender. Together they investigate the paranormal to bring peace to occupant spirits and haunted hosts alike.

Share laughs with the living and deceased in this point-and-click comedy adventure while attending to specters who haunt your clientele. Use Oliver’s incredible ability to, um, be alive, and Englebert’s capacity for the incorporeal to fulfill agreements with the respiratorily challenged. Oh! but the breather paying you will need physical proof you’ve done anything at all, and how will you get something out of nothing? Call your closest pal, take your deepest breath, and stumble headlong into the unknown on a personal journey of social entanglement and brotherhood beyond the veil.

As you pass a week with the Phantom Fellows, you’ll encounter many spirits. Some yearn to be reunited with a possession, others wish to commence their eternal repose, and of course a few simply enjoy a good haunting. Between spooks you’ll also meet many warm-bodied breathers (for better or worse), and all the while a shadowy, malicious spirit will lurk near Oliver for a dearly personal reason.

  • Hand-drawn pixel art and animations

  • Completely interactive- take control of the characters!

  • Switch between Oliver and Englebert! Sometimes being dead has its perks. Maybe.

  • Play through eight days, explore each new location, negotiate with ghosts, sweet talk the living, and perform slapdash acts of tomfoolery!

  • Revisit locations from previous days any time after Day 3 and discover more answers! or questions?

  • Some puzzles have alternate solutions as the ending has an alternate of its own

Internet Court

Internet Court

I have to admit I found Internet Court really funny. It does have a lot of silly moments that make you go what but I loved it from beginning to end. You can beat this within 2 hours but it is really fun to get through. I love the acting being silly but worth it to make a good comedy. The Judge always makes me laugh at every turn. I love the silly ending that connects all 4 cases and my favourite case was the first one. I may not be a fan of the music in the game but love the credits song at the end.

Great writing, including fun dialogue when you make bad decisions (intentionally or otherwise). Clear video and audio with acting by Gamecola staff emeritus.

The judge once said, “I’m going to let you try again, but first I’m going to give you a strike!” giving me my third strike and ejecting me from the courtroom. I might have gotten carried away exploring dialogue options.

Phucker in the Ashes

Truly one of the best games on steam. Between strangling Hiroshi Honda 4 times and accidentally setting off a nuclear reactor you could say I’ve had a real hoot playing this one.

Unfortunate Spacemen

Unfortunate Spacemen

This game has everything a among us player wants plus sooooooo much more.

First of all this game is free and I mean free not loot boxs or pay to win mechanics, there are somewhat overpriced cosmetics but they are purely cosmetic and ad no gameplay advantage.

There is a story mode which is not bad, a survival mode that’s pretty meh, and shapeshifter the reason everyone plays without going into a long wall of text One of you is a monster and everyone’s name is hidden as a color. Instead of scaresolution for example you see blue the monster looks human until he transforms and the twist he can change color.

Unfortunate spacemen is where you play as one of many unfortunate spacemen/women stuck on a station with a shapeshifting monster that’s out to screw you over one way or another. (there are other gamemodes, however the game and this review will revolve mostly around the shapeshifter gamemode)

Pros:

  • Very large amount of replayability, it has a justifiable amount of maps and weapons that show up in random spots, as do the objectives.

  • Fantastic OST, the recently added menu music is something I can’t help but jam out to (I miss the old music though :( )

Stranded 2

Stranded 2

The absolute worst game I have ever played. Complete horse sh*t.

I grew up on text based games so real excited about this but wouldn’t recommend to my enemies.

For $3 I’ll keep just in case it is ever actually playable.

Not just a text adventure. There’s art, sound and also has an advanced parser as you can see from the trailer. The puzzles are fun and challenging. Plus, as a bonus, you also get Zenobi Software’s Stranded 1 along with it (playable in the accompanied Spectrum emulator).

I do recommend reading the manual, even if you have played many text adventures before this one. It has tips and new features which you really don’t want to miss out on.

First Impressions

Having recently played and reviewed the first game, which really disappointed me, I’m not at all looking forward to Frog Detective 2: The Case of the Invisible Wizard (FD2). Considering how well received the first game was, I don’t see the developers changing up what they did the first time, as there’s no reason to fix something that’s not broken. Knowing I’d knock it out quickly enough, I decided to play it sooner than later to find out whether I was right or wrong. To spare any potential mystery, I wasn’t off the mark in my prediction.

Frog Detective is back! A delightful sequel to the original game

Frog Detective 2: The Case of the Invisible Wizard picks up right after the events of the original game, The Haunted Island: A Frog Detective Game. In a lot of ways, the games are very similar, both are a short and easy point & click adventure game, where you play as the titular Frog Detective, who need to gather clues and figure out who the culprit is within the case. This time, you are aimed to solve a new mystery. You need to figure out who wrecked the parade the townsfolk of Warlock Woods were preparing to surprise their new neighbor, an invisible wizard?!

Its a good 2D style anime Detective game with great Storyline mix with comedy. You play as duo partner with one having a power of speaking to dead spirits to find clues on the crime scene. Theres even different endings too which makes u to play it again to find other ending. A great game would recommend to try it out.

Principais pontos positivos:

1-Uma excelente história de detetive.

2-A trilha sonora é espetacular.

Principais pontos negativos:

1- Achei o controle por mouse estranho, então eu recomendaria jogar pelo teclado no lugar. Mas não é nada que impeça o usuário de jogar do começo ao fim usando só o mouse!

Unnatural Freaks: Wolf At Evergreen

Unnatural Freaks: Wolf At Evergreen

This was actually a pleasant surprise. You play as Frankie, who runs the Unnatural Freaks vlog. And you’ve rolled into town to investigate werewolf sightings. Everyone seems to be happy with the tourism and the new werewolf museum, but is there really a werewolf?

Overall it was lovely as I’m a huge fan of werewolves, so I loved that the town went all out with the theme. Though I was puzzled as the museum was both opened after the sightings, but the current curator took it over? Or did he mean the building?

Real player with 0.4 hrs in game

‘Unnatural Freaks: Wolf At Evergreen’ is an interactive story about small-town sightings of a werewolf. You play the role of a vlogger talking to all the townsfolk about what they did or didn’t see. Despite the game crashing a few times I did enjoy the game and started to get into the story. Sure, it only lasts for about 30-40 mins and it is very low-poly, but for a free game it’s worth a look if only for the storyline and to give a new developer a chance. I would love to see more from this game and I would be happy to pay for the next episode, just so long as the content amount justifies the fee.

Star Seeker in: the Secret of the Sorcerous Standoff

Star Seeker in: the Secret of the Sorcerous Standoff

Fun, short investigative adventure that’s all about its comedic narration.

You’re a Star Seeker, a young magician busted for some “interesting activities” by the law enforcement, who’s now on parole. You’re being brought in at the murder scene to share your magic expertise in exchange for lowering the punishment time. The detective seems nice, the forensics lady on the contrary, seems annoying, but you don’t care all that much. After all, you’re there to shave off some days of that parole and possibly swipe an expensive bottle of extra-virgin virgin blood – something any magician can find an effective use for, so you dive right in.

Real player with 2.6 hrs in game

A Really charming game! If you’re a fan of mystery games and trying to figure things out, then this is for you! Plus, the added aspect of this not being your ordinary mystery; this is a WIZARD mystery, made all the logic all the more fun to figure out!

The character dynamics were really fun (ESPECIALLY The titular “Star Seeker,” Who I now hold a close spiritual connection to) and it was clever writing that kept me entertained throughout the entire game. Every combo for evidence has unique dialogue, so you’re definitely going to want to go through all of that.
