Fall 4 times in the river, and you will lose the duel!

The game can be played online using “STEAM remote” or Parsec.

The game is mean to be played on arcade and here is the keyboard mapping :

This is a cool, adorable, charming platformer that becomes quite challenging in the last level. It controls well, the music is awesome, and it emulates the game boy feel perfectly.

The main mechanic is your bombs are used as makeshift platforms, and as your weapon. You have to manage them well, especially on bosses - because getting stuck in an area when your bombs are on cooldown is almost a sure death sentence. It’s very engaging and I loved it.

This is an easy recommendation for anyone, and especially if you like platformers.

Ace of Seafood

Ace of Seafood

SERIOUS REVIEW

Ace of Seafood is the supposed successor to ‘Neo Aquarium: The King of Crustaceans’ and this can be seen by a variety of aspects implemented into this newer title ‘Ace of Seafood’.

This game has a surprising amount of aspects to it and they all seemingly work with eachother.

To begin with, the story goes as follows. It’s sometime in the future and the human race has gone extinct, leaving only “seafood” alive. However, while the physical form of humanity has disappeared, they still reside on a subconscious level of existence, presumably taking control of the many forms of marine life alive on Earth. The story isn’t to be taken too seriously as it sounds mostly gimmicky, however I did find myself entranced in the story during some parts of the game.

This game has made me experience every emotion. I love it. A game for game’s sake. A game that all started from, “I want to make a game where you can fly as a fish”. Wacky, terryfing, inspiring, epic, beautiful, tense. Just a few of the words that describe this game. It’s definitely not a normal game, and if you’re expecting easy controls, perfect english (especially in the trailer, but his voice more than makes up for it), a plot, logic, a glitchless experience, or regular gaming conventions this is not the game for you. But for me, not having these actually adds incredible charm and having them could ruin the experience. The controls and way the game plays really puts emphasis on teamwork, strategy, and manueverability. You’re not pinpoint accurate and the lock on system plain doesnt work on medium to small targets. The “OK, but not perfect” english lends a feeling of otherworldliness to those with a strong suspension of disbelief. The main plot states itself in less than a paragraph and is entirely unnecessary, except the stuff after “The certain thing” that makes it feel really cool and you just proved the worth of all the new “Seafood”. Because the plot should only boil down to “You want take over ocean. Cool stuff happens. Go do it.”. Anything else doesnt matter. The foreign logic results in an interesting new world with new rules that are incredibly fun to figure out. Partner-popping (using co-op’s auto return to put partner in wall and use him to flank enemy while me and rest of team fight head on, then switching to seige formation and forcing them to split up) and melee-flopping/salmon-skipping (what an actual fish does on land in order to pass the dreaded “Radio Channel”/ sprint-swimming over small patches of land in order to escape or surprise enemies). The glitches add to the fun and wacky bits of the game. Me and my friend played through the new-ish Co-op mode and couldnt stop playing. The genuine thrill of coming back to a reef that stomped your tailfin the first few times you tried and managing to overcome it is quite good. So many unique experiences in this game. Seal Team Five. The previously mentioned dreaded Radio Channel. BloodBath at the Bottom of Barrier Reef. The dead Whale. The Canadian outpost (Saury!). King Krab Klubhouse. Simba’s Pride. The College Campus (TriggerFish Reef). The Abyssal Eye. And of course, Space Fish. The single player gives you a sense of total command with you at the helm, while co-op is more working within a team rather than outside of it. Hard to describe the actual gameplay, really. I think it’s supposed to play like a flight sim? The soundtrack’s amazing, too. If you want something different or just something really good and involving, pick it up. OOH (Barracuda), Big Da King (King Crab), Big Boy (Cubera Snapper), He (sort of secret thing), Wate (Tuna), and HIGH VOLTAGE (Electric Catfish) are out there protecting the Ocean from enemies like Seafood Platter No. 2. Why aren’t you?

I’ve been waiting to play this game since the first time I heard about it and I’m so happy to finally be able to!

It speaks to my heart when a game dares not to take itself seriously and, at the same time, still is a good gsme. Fish surely is all that! 3

It feels so good to play an FPS in which the core gameplay involves dodging, after so many years of boring cover shooting. And the level design is cleverly interesting, not shying away to present obscure secrets right when you start (which brings fond memories of Doom 64).

Early Access Review: This is actually a pretty fun game for a retro style game. As others have mentioned the harpoon mechanic is really cool. This game has some interesting puzzles that require a bit of thinking to get thru, but not so difficult that it makes it impossible. You may have to retry the level a couple of times to get thru the “learning curve”.

Since it is early access there are some things that the developer is working on. But the good news is that the issues are getting discovered quickly and bug fixes are coming in.

It’s good! It’s fun, charming, and pretty funny. The core game play is challenging but very satisfying, the music is catchy and spaghetti night was just something else.

The game can sometimes be a bit unfair with at times with its unpredictable cues. Levels like “Um…”, “1 Tuna” and “Quiet!” are funny, but they’re not much more than silly jokes and are the weakest part of this game.

That’s where my complaints about the game end though, as this game really shines with the really good levels it has, that thankfully make up the majority of the package. Highlights include “Exit 404”, “Onion Canion”, “Swordfish-Sailfish Speedway”, “Barra2da”, “Starfish” and the new extra level “Spaghetti Speedway” which features vocals.

Amateur reviewer.

From the composer of such albums as Garlic Elevator, Fish Factory, and [CLASSIFIED], as well as a great surreal meme artist, this game is about as much as I expected from such a person. The moment I launched the game I just wanted to sit around and vibe for hours to the title screen music. All the tracks from 01-13 (level 13 I’m stuck on, but believe me, the title sums it up quite well. No further spoilers!) are also amazing. The timing of the fish is enough to make me want to take a moment sometimes, but hey, isn’t that like all rhythm games?

Mark Twain’s Tom Sawyer: Survival Game

Mark Twain’s Tom Sawyer: Survival Game

We are one of the first studios who decided to make a videogame based on Mark Twain’s books.

So, we took a chapter from Tom Sawyer’s Adventures book, about him escaping to an island with his friends. And decided that this will perfectly fit into a concept of a survival game. But it is not a plotless survival sandbox. As anything with our studio, our games are highly focused on unique experiences, intrinsic motivation, and player emotions. If we make a survival game - it is going to be unique and most of our time is going to be dedicated to immersing the player and creating a feeling of an authentic teenage adventure inside the player’s head.

I got this game in a bundle before, so I was not as irritated as some people who paid full price.

It has a number of bugs in it - one causes the game to crash. It is pretty short (under 10 minutes), art is okay, the whole thing is kind of something you would have seen on Newgrounds before.

The best part of the game was the business dude conversations which ended up making me laugh.

I don’t recommend buying it, instead just go watch the 5 min let’s play of it.

TL;DR: Don’t buy this product. Instead, go buy yourself a cheeseburger because at least it will leave you feeling more full than any amount of time with this unfinished husk would.

Now, with that put aside here is a gloomy review thrown together because I’m bored and have nothing better to do.

My first encounter with the Shop Keep series was when I was granted a Keymailer key for the first one. I reviewed it, it was honestly a pretty good game but of course as anyone remembers, it was very limited.

I have played since release. Here are my views so far.

PROBLEMS:

Few problems so far. Things I’ve ran into are:

• Textures did not make the shop look different (fixed by re-logging)

• I moved 5k of water into a chest, and it all dissapeared. Maybe the count was too high? If so the game should say so. That was 15k of money down the drain for me

• For the farm, the client cannot ready the plots or plant seeds or see the plants grow. Only the host can for some reason (fixed this by re-logging)
