Welcome To… Chichester 2 - Part II : No Regrets For The Future

Disclosure: During the early access stages of this game’s development, I accepted an offer to proofread it, and repeated the exercise just ahead of final release. This will have no bearing on my assessment of the entertainment on offer.

Albeit with one episode left to follow, this game may represent the end of a journey for this series which has seen it progress from shallow and somewhat under-cooked, to massively improved with engaging plot, character backstories, more graphical interest and more in-game extras.

Welcome to.. Chichester Part II: No regrets for the future gives a reflection on early meetings between the impish archenemy Grendel and the Protagonist during the holiday capers from WTC 2 Part 1. The recollections take us back to the very first interactions between them during the Protagonist’s first mission, giving an insight into the developing kinship that not only causes concerns for Grendel’s father but also becomes a confliction of interests since Grendel’s father belongs to a rival secret organisation ‘pet insurance’ company.

Welcome To… Chichester OVN 3 : The Mysterious Affair At The Violet Hotel

‘You were only supposed to blow the bloody doors off’' - Michael Caine

In this third (and final) OVN Grendel has an idea, a brainwave that can benefit all of h- umm.. herself(!) and any players who have had previous experience reading the Welcome to Chichester series will know that Grendel’s ideas are an omen to disaster.

Being the egotist that she is, Grendel had put her plan immediately into action and, with the aid of the long suffering protagonist, the ingenious scheme met an unexpected problem that not only ‘blew the doors off’ but destroyed the kitchen, dining area & meeting rooms of the Violet hotel!!

Note: I proofread this game for language and grammatical accuracy, and therefore will be making no observations about the quality of the text within.

The third and final side story to the Welcome To Chichester series takes a marked turn from its predecessors in the sense that the story volume has been increased greatly, with the emphasis on corny humour somewhat toned down.. although this is not to suggest that we suddenly have a serious, slice-of-life tale. Oh no, nothing of the sort. This instalment brings us a science fiction-esque body swap situation wrapped in another layer of extreme silliness.

El Tango de la Muerte

El Tango de la Muerte

El Tango de la Muerte:

It takes two to tango, isn’t what they say! What if someone wants to tango but has two left feet? The image in my mind is that a person would have his upper body leaning toward the right in order to compensate for his/her unfortunate tendency to deviate to their left side. Joking aside, what would you do if your childhood sweetheart was a great Tango dancer, and you discovered that you actually had not two, but three left feet? You’d probably ask someone to help you out, right? That is exactly what Luciano did. He asked his best friend Julio to teach him how to find the secret of his right foot. Otherwise, it would truly become El Tango de la Muerte!

--- A fresh and highly unique spin on the rhythm genre. You're basically trying to follow the pattern as it appears on the floor with various flourishes that you can hit for added effect. While this sounds simple, picking up on the rhythm can be tough and you'll feel exactly as awkward as someone dancing poorly would in real life, but when you finally get the beat down and hit that string of notes just right, it feels _amazing_ The theme and story are also very fun. I can honestly say I've never played a game about Argentenian ballroom dancing before. The storyline is like a soap opera gangster story and it's surprisingly well-written with some memorable characters and fun over-the-top melodrama. *– [Real player with 2.6 hrs in game](http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561197997934524)* --- ![Dragon Audit](https://cdn.cloudflare.steamstatic.com/steam/apps/594380/header.jpg "") ## Dragon Audit If you like light-hearted fantasy, you will likely enjoy this highly humorous tale (or tail?). An auditor is sent to a castle that's rumored to be inhabited by a dragon … because that castle's taxes were falling behind. A few ~ mostly ~ easy puzzles are included in this roleplaying game. No combat. Much fun to be had! I bought it during early release, directly from the developer. Helped hunt bugs. He was kind enough to include "Tumblyweeds" in the credits. So my "hours played" displays vastly fewer hours than I have actually spent playing this game. *– [Real player with 41.1 hrs in game](http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198198394358)* I think it would be very easy to harshly judge this game based solely on the trailer and content on the store page. Despite that, it is a thoroughly enjoyable adventure gaming experience. Indeed the trailer doesn't do the graphics and art style justice which actually looks much better in game (although admittedly still very obviously Unity powered). The puzzles are on the simpler end of the spectrum, although I personally prefer that over absurd moon logic puzzles typical of older adventure games. It is relatively short, and can easily be completed in one ~90 minute sitting. For the price asked I think that is very reasonable. *– [Real player with 24.1 hrs in game](http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198036257888)* --- ![The Thought Police Hotline: Episode 1](https://cdn.cloudflare.steamstatic.com/steam/apps/1465300/header.jpg "") ## The Thought Police Hotline: Episode 1 [Follow Far2close - Visual Novel Playthroughs Curator Page](https://store.steampowered.com/curator/34294631/) The Thought Police Hotline: Episode 1 Developer: Voonle Publisher: Voonle **Pros:** 1\. The story does keep its merits as sci-fi with interesting inclusions such as the government taking over privacy and tracking emotions, calls, and other activities. I could see the inspirations if this was inspired by Minority Report or the anime series PSYCHO-PASS, or just the outlook on real life itself. *– [Real player with 1.0 hrs in game](http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198037112838)* --- ![Welcome To... Love Me Seriously!](https://cdn.cloudflare.steamstatic.com/steam/apps/1460490/header.jpg "") ## Majikoi! Love Me Seriously! ### Was an instant buy for me but didn't expect it'll be like this…. Majikoi….YES YES YES YES! Finally, they actually did an official localization of this gem! And to bring it to steam as well! Nice going Minatosoft. Tried this game years ago using the fan-translation patch which was done splendidly by the translation team and got instantly hooked by the myriad amount of characters personality and while the story might seem generic in the sea of school life themed VN, they still did a wonderful job in delivering it and made it captivating as well. The steam version, however….I have mixed feelings for this one. *– [Real player with 85.9 hrs in game](http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198059548754)* We live in a society, where a free fan translated game is superior to the same game on Steam. Wow I want to support the devs who created a great game but these kinda half baked product isn't doing it any favours. You buy the Steam version, you're getting choppy game with voices being removed for important side characters especially villains that are important to the game and changing the names for characters as well. HENCE, must get the DLC patch from JAST USA (why it isn't on steam though smh) and voice restoration patch to add better translation and voices so you can experience this game fully as it was meant to be. Similar to mods, but these are necessary mods that will make you mad why they didn't do it well, idiots. *– [Real player with 70.1 hrs in game](http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198157343161)* --- ![Morphine](https://cdn.cloudflare.steamstatic.com/steam/apps/410430/header.jpg "") ## Morphine Morphine puts us in the shoes of an 18-year-old high school student who experiences a lot of bullying in his class. I think the idea of putting school bullying in the focus is commendable as not many video game use it for storytelling purposes. It should also be noted that it was mainly developed by Kerim Kumbasar - upon completion you can read his notes saying the game is based on his own experience. Now, Morphine is, first and foremost, one of those first person exploration games. It is not an FPS in its true sense as shooting enemies is kept to a minimum. It is more about walking, interacting with objects and minimalistic puzzle solving. We relive the many times Peter was bullied by his classmate, Ted and these are often followed by dream-like sequences with a giant rabbit that is akin to the one in the film Donnie Darko. The main jumpscares are attributed to the appearance of this otherworldly creature. *– [Real player with 3.8 hrs in game](http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561197986360343)* _Morphine_ is the first and only game made by Kerem Kumbasar - a name that we see in nearly every available space of this game - a Turkish indie developer. For a one man project and a first trial at unity to produce something presentable, I'd say that it is a semi-success. The game has some imaginative value and is brave enough to take the risk of undergoing a psychedelic horror display, but it has its unforgivable parts which led me into casting a downvote. To arrange a non-spoiler summary, our character is a high school student with some background and popularity issues. He is the subject of constant bullying for his whole high school experience, because why not? He is insecure and intolerant, with an impending psychosis on the side. The game invites us to go through a psychedelic journey in his memories, eventually bringing us to the point where he decides to get violent. It should be noted that the name of our protagonist is a bit ambiguous, since the names of our protagonist and antagonist got mixed-up half-way through the game. For the most part, he is referred as Peter - the bully being Ted, yet nearing the end game, our silent nerd is called as Ted and the bully is called as Peter. It is quite frustrating. It might be declared that they were the same and the one person altogether, but that really doesn't fit into the story, so… if anyone managed to get that part, inform me. *– [Real player with 3.6 hrs in game](http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198139328230)* --- ![Movie Actor Trivia](https://cdn.cloudflare.steamstatic.com/steam/apps/1598130/header.jpg "") ## Movie Actor Trivia **How well do you know your favorite Movie Actors?
