War of the Human Tanks - ALTeR

War of the Human Tanks - ALTeR

Welp, this certainly was a pleasent surprise. who would have thought that having a cute army of tank girls would be so interesting. The music is also interesting and I never tire of the battle/death cries of my, and my enemies, troops.

In the story there are acouple minutes of dialouge then a skirmish. For the battles, you must deploy a tank that acts like a king in chess, if she dies you lose (you can even have multiple). then you can make other units (if it is within the maps unit cap) like artillary (slow but long/wide range) shock tanks (fast/cheap/suicide explosion), assault tanks (medium speed, medium attack range) and much more. There is a fog of war, so you must proceed with care to find the enemy through scouting and prediction based on where you see them fire. You must build and upgrade your units by using supplies from winning or losing battles, so you may have to grind in the caverns or in free battles if you cannot preserve your troops.

This game… this goddarn game.

I’m not exactly sure where to start, so first off: this game is absolutely fantastic! I haven’t played EVERYTHING yet (still need to get Glitch-Heshiko and play the 2 or 3 optional Floor 90+ Battles), but still. The combination of Visual Novel and (Semi-)turn based Strategy game is beautiful and really well balanced, most if not almost all the tanks have their use and encourage players to figure out their favorite strategies and the Modules and combination of them just add to the fun (I still have fun giving my Peko-Peko a Tank Life ensurance and just making her explode, achieving absolutely nothing… I’m an Idiot.).

BeachHead 2020

BeachHead 2020

This review is for the non-VR game.

I bought the early access BH2020 as soon as it came out and I’ve been enjoying it immensely. I thought BH2002 was a blast so I was excited for this newer version.

The game has a new and detailed look compared to the earlier version. The graphics are nice as are the sounds. I’ve only encountered minor glitches such as the game loosing count of health and a stutter with aiming, but they were quickly resolved when reported to the Devs.

The game is still “early-access” so issues are still being adjusted. I’ve found the Developers to be very attentive to any concerns that are communicated to them. It sounds like they have a huge and fascinating game besides the stationary shooting station out now.

A REAL review on BeachHead 2020

First off, looking at the negative reviews, these people are not giving it time. Almost all if not all played the game for less than an hour if that much (look at their hours on record). With that being said, this IS still in very Early Access, meaning that it will be less than perfect as the company works out the bugs, kinks and adds more features.

I have found a few issues like the aiming is kind of choppy when zooming in. But really I am not holding this against the company. As of writing up this review, the game version is at 1.1.1. So in time I am sure these minor things will be fixed.

Great fun, and fantastic value for the price! I would love to see left handed support, but certainly not a deal breaker. Highly recommend.

Also bear in mind the the majority of negative reviews are for lack of index support… but support isn’t listed. So shouldn’t be a surprise. And I think unfair to leave a negative review for not having something it never claimed to have.

I am playing on HTC Vive, I notice there is no way to pause the game and there is no way to run/sprint. On Oculus this does not seem to be an issue, so maybe there needs to be more fixes for Vive controllers? Along with the holding of weapons, it does not feel centered like other VR shooters. I feel I am pointing a TV remote when I aim and shoot the M1911 Pistol. Some parts of the game are unplayable.
