The Viking Way

The Viking Way; an ambitious project that aims to bring a Viking experience into the 3D RPG world. Upon playing I could see the amount of work being put into this project, through their slowly chipping away at every unpolished surface in the game with every update.

It’s Medieval times, when the Vikings rule the high seas and warring factions fight for new land and dominance over other factions. This is where I come into play; I am about to set off on a journey to represent the Faction Ribe and make my father proud.

--- I've been playing the game for about 14 hours now and while it was fun at start, some things started to annoy me: - First off, a dev who claimed (in discord) this game is worthy of a full release, which obviously is not the case). - Too many plots are taken by bandit camps and mining plots - Boats are buggy and can break sometimes (not allowing you to load resources on it) - It needs more optimization, i have a great pc but even for me the game started stuttering (ingame and sound) - Bandit camps need balancing. I have them with only kings, which requires a max level training field. By the time i can defeat them i have no more need for such resources you can get from them. *– [Real player with 15.0 hrs in game](http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198037606696)* --- ![Batterneers](https://cdn.cloudflare.steamstatic.com/steam/apps/1407050/header.jpg "") ## Batterneers Batterneers is an exciting, action-packed game for up to 4 players. Gem Chase - Hold onto the precious gem for as long as you can while avoiding your fellow players. *– [Real player with 23.1 hrs in game](http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561199019841521)* ---

--- This is a very simple pirate game with 3 modes and minimalist graphics. Music is acceptable in quality. Map is way too small. Controls are responsive but feel more like you're controlling an RC car from an 8- or 16-bit title than a pirate ship. There are no bots or an obvious way to host a dedicated server. Player counts are so extremely low that you must bring your own friends to make this game worthwhile. For an occasional casual game, it's of acceptable quality and quite a bit of fun, but if you don't have friends to bring along or want a long-term game to invest time into, I suggest going with a different offering. *– [Real player with 0.4 hrs in game](http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198866942343)* --- ![Corsairs Legacy - Pirate Action RPG](https://cdn.cloudflare.steamstatic.com/steam/apps/1594880/header.jpg "") ## Corsairs Legacy - Pirate Action RPG ![](https://cdn.akamai.steamstatic.com/steam/apps/1594880/extras/CL-Wishlist.gif?t=1638358866) The year 1689\. Captain Blood’s Odyssey has reached its end – a legendary corsair took over as governor of Jamaica. The Caribbean needs new heroes – notorious adventurers who would set sail under the black flag for a hazardous journey and Spanish gold, becoming the scourge of the tropical islands! Jack Rackham wasn’t planning on becoming a pirate, the life of a smuggler was good enough for him. Unfortunately, during another cargo delivery, he got into a series of events that would change his life forever. ![](https://cdn.akamai.steamstatic.com/steam/apps/1594880/extras/CL-Steam-img-16x9-Soldier-en.png?t=1638358866) Dive into the historical pirate life simulator in the carefully recreated environment of the Caribbean region at the end of the XVII century. The project is based on a ground-based RPG mode where you control the main character and a mode where you control a sailing boat. Stand at the wheel and see what adventures await. ![](https://cdn.akamai.steamstatic.com/steam/apps/1594880/extras/CL-Steam-img-16x9-Cannon-en.png?t=1638358866) Take part in an exciting story that connects historical facts with the world of the book «Captain Blood: His Odyssey». The game’s story is set on an island named Barbados shortly after the events of the original books. ![](https://cdn.akamai.steamstatic.com/steam/apps/1594880/extras/CL-Steam-img-16x9-Pistol-en.png?t=1638358866) A wide range of blades and guns were created on the basis of well-preserved historical samples, museum pieces, and their replicas. The real prototypes also formed the basis of ships, fortifications, and cannons. ![](https://cdn.akamai.steamstatic.com/steam/apps/1594880/extras/CL-Steam-img-16x9-Perudo-en.png?t=1638358866) During the careful study of all models the development team was responsible for, we were consulting with historians. The project also tries to come as close as possible to the economy of that time while keeping the game balanced. Features: * Fascinating role-playing game; * Full freedom of developing the main character; * Different ways to resolve conflicts; * Complete immersion into the mysterious world of pirates; * Land and sea gameplay; * Choices have an impact on the fates of the characters. --- ![Girls' civilization 2](https://cdn.cloudflare.steamstatic.com/steam/apps/1354690/header.jpg "") ## Girls' civilization 2 Before the game launched I had it on my wish-list since it was announced, When the game first launched I tried the Demo, the game used to drop you in the ocean with a chest and it was hard to pick everything up. it was very frustrating that it put me off from buying the game. I tried the Demo again today after it updated, now you start the game locked up. I like the game now and It finally got my interest to buy it. some of the things you can do in the game is better then I hoped for when I first heard about the game. *– [Real player with 9.3 hrs in game](http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198153605553)* Fun but optimised by drunk monkeys. the game itself can be pretty fun, funny a times too when you forget the button to interact and end up punching someone, only to end up on the receiving end of a musket volley. stuff like having to manage your ammo supplies by adding bullets to magazines or trying not to starve to death gave it a surprising bit of difficulty. but all this is under one big issue, performance, more specifically the morphing blurs when you move. it isnt at all bad when playing desktop mode but it makes playing in VR a bit of a challenge. *– [Real player with 2.5 hrs in game](http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198192949942)* --- ![Submarine War](https://cdn.cloudflare.steamstatic.com/steam/apps/1674440/header.jpg "") ## Submarine War Hello/Bonjour Developer Deyin Song, When I was a kid back in the sixties, my mom would let me play "Periscope" at Montréal Bonaventure train station. The big arcade style machine, had it's inner workings all in electric and mechanical systems. No fancy electronics here, synchronized luminous bulbs, and immersive sound effects. Of course Submarine War is not a U-Boat style complex game, but it triggered my nostalgia memories big time. It runs smoothly, pretty good graphics, and a little strategy towards the middle of the levels. *– [Real player with 3.6 hrs in game](http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198079853514)* 19/10 would get free achievements again *– [Real player with 2.3 hrs in game](http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198193765645)* --- ![In Search of Fon Vitae](https://cdn.cloudflare.steamstatic.com/steam/apps/1453670/header.jpg "") ## In Search of Fon Vitae **Pirates, the ship, and an adventure!** What else do you want? :D Hire up to 4 crewmates, collect various artifacts and drink elixirs for permanents upgrades that make your pirate party stronger, travel islands with different biomes, slay monsters, and bosses to find a source of eternal life, Fon Vitae. The game is heavily influenced by the Legend of Zelda games and especially by the top-down NES, SNES, and Game Boy titles (which are my favorite). In fact, while playing, it felt like a modern Game Boy Color game, which I loved since Game Boy Color is the handheld with which I grew up. ### Summary In brief, you play as a young man named Charlie, who is trapped in a time loop and relives the same day, the Festival of the Red Sun, all over again. In particular, a dark shade that was trapped in the lighthouse of the main island causes the Red Sun to come close to the world and burn everything (An idea inspired by the Falling Moon in Majora's Mask). The player has 10 minutes until the Sun destroys the world and when this happens, the game is reset. *– [Real player with 12.0 hrs in game](http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198300381782)* Very good game! The puzzles are nice and fit in well with the time wind dynamic. I did find 2 bugs however (huge spoiler warning): ! 1\. If you fight the whale with the black sword he wont go into his final phase and will just sit at the front of the island and attack you while invincible. 2.When fighting the elephant boss the hit detection on whether you dashed into his legs when he stands up was very finicky and didn't work for me at all unless I dashed into his legs from the very front within a very narrow time window (i.e it wouldn't register even if he was still standing). This made me think that for the first few times I fought him that I was doing something wrong when I didnt. *– [Real player with 7.8 hrs in game](http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198986897521)* --- ![Anchor Up](https://cdn.cloudflare.steamstatic.com/steam/apps/1384000/header.jpg "") ## Anchor Up Anchor Up is a calming strategy puzzle game about out-manoeuvring your opponent's ships by careful navigation and weapon placement. The weapons you choose, and where you place them on your boat are all part of the puzzle. **To complete each puzzle, you must sink the enemies' ships whilst avoiding the same fate for yours. Can you outsmart your foes? Can you escape the grasp of the Azarak forces?** #### What to Expect -40 hand-crafted puzzles with diverse modes -10 unique weapons to unlock -New puzzle and movement mechanics introduced throughout the experience -Multiple locations with varying weather and visuals #### How to Play During your turn you can either move your ship or you can use one of your weapons. The enemy ships (AI) will all then take their turn with the same two options. In the next phase, if any weapons were used by the player or the enemy in the previous phases they will be triggered/updated, for example cannon balls moving or lasers firing. Where you place your weapons is also important, so you can correctly align your weapon with an enemy! These core gameplay mechanics are then built upon with new environmental objects, varying enemies/weapons and much more in order to add layers of complexity towards the end levels! The movement in Anchor Up is a key part of the puzzle: your ship takes up two tiles, the front of your ship and the back of your ship. This means that thinking ahead is key to victory. When moving tiles, your boat rotates to face the direction you just moved, careful manoeuvring and navigation is vital! If you get a hit by a weapon or an enemy is in an adjacent tile (your ship being boarded) you fail the level. ---
