Street Heat
has anybody won a race? if so i want to see video evidence! i want to see one of the devs win a race on easy because for a start its not possible to select difficulty on local mode! i dont believe the devs have even played the game!!!!!!!! its impossible to win. online mode is pointless cos theres always an ai with you that will win every time. making a game impossibly difficult will not bring sales. big fail devs!!!!!!!!!!!!

According to Steam, I last played this for around an hour back in 2017 when this game was still in Early Access. On a whim I decided to revisit it, and all I gotta say is, I’m really disappointed. When I last played this, I felt that the concept was cool but it was lacking in content, and just needed something more; according to the discussions, I’m not the only one that felt that way.
Other than some bugfixes according to the patchnotes (although OneWay’s AI is just broken), version 0.6.7275.31597 (which is the current version as of me writing this) has two new maps and SLIGHTLY different car handling. Nothing else, no alternate game modes, no new cars, no career mode, nothing. Just quick play with bots, other people on the same screen, or literally no one online. My problem with that is, Street Heat feels nothing more than a proof of concept that you get bored with after maybe an hour tops. At least grinding the car unlocks & achievements only takes three total at most.

Rock n' Rush: Battle Racing
This is a simple racing/shooting hybrid based on classic games like Atari’s Badlands (arcade) and Super NES games RPM Racing (Radical Psycho Machines), Rock ‘N’ Roll Racing and, more recently, Death Rally that’s about finishing first while blowing up other racers.
There really isn’t too much content yet (only 4 tracks with some variations and 4 playable vehicles at the start) but it’s fun and-in single player mode-challenging, but it’s much more fun if you’ve got friends to play with. Not the kiddies though, as there is some NSFW language (occasional F-bombs). It looks good with a nice metal soundtrack and controls are surprisingly realistic, you can’t just go all out around corners or you might roll over, let alone go off track.

Mini Motor Racing X
A nearly perfect arcade racer and a remake that more than exceeds the original. I received the game free because I bought the original Mini Motor Racing Evo but I would have happily paid for it. This is arcade racing as it should be.
It’s a game that combines many classic elements of Super Cars, Super Sprint, Micro Machines, Skidmarks and Ivan Ironman Stewart’s Super Off Road Racer but also allows you to race in first person and third person camera views as well as the classic top down view.

Can’t speak to the new VR mode, but the non-VR mode is just as much of a blast as the original game (Mini Motor Racing EVO) was. If you’re looking for a fun arcade racer, and are willing to overlook some flaws, then this game is for you.
Unfortunately there are several issues (some that carry over from the original and are still very glaring):
-
The balancing for certain cars is still off, which is unfortunate, but you can still eke out a win with any car if it is upgraded enough.
-
The new maps are a nice (varied) addition, but the music for them isn’t as good as the original maps (most of the new tracks are generic rock that don’t really fit the theme of the map).

Street Racer
The Dos and 16-bit version sucks big time!
Why? Because of the lack of controls and very slow steering.
Yes we wanna have retro racers but this title is not done right !

Not worth it.
DOS version is the same as the ps1 version but significantly slower (super laggy) on resolutions higher than 320x240.
Controls don’t work on the dos version, not without considerable workarounds.
The 16-bit version is limited to low resolution (lower than 640x480) 4:3 ratio and borders
Was expecting a better port but its a straight across port.
Play on SNES or PS1 with Duckstation for a more definitive experience.

TRF - The Race Factory
An extremely fun game to play whether you have friends or not. It’s a very easy game to get into, and even easier to sink into. Especially when competing with the leader boards.
There are various modes and events to try including a pretty easy to use track maker and various different vehicle types!

Recent updates have made the game more stable, and the developer is working on new features, which is really good. Lots of bugs have been fixed since release.
The game has several fun gamemodes, two types of track editor (one currently in beta, as of writing this review), multiple car classes, including street, formula, karts, trucks, boats, among others. The difficulty is alright most of the time, but do not play drift mode on mountain circuit. Just don’t, you’ll regret it. That was the first thing I played, and it lead me to leave a negative review at first.

Death Rally
Death Rally is a top-down combat racing game. Arrested for a series of crime and illegal racing, you avoid jail by participating in the Death Rally tournament where you must attract the attention of a murderous driver known as The Adversary.
Pros: This is a remake of a DOS game by the same name. You race against six opponents (always including one champion) through desert canyons, frozen strips and urban centers. Maps are pretty varied, and some races will drive the track in inverse, other times you’ll have specific challenges or handicaps that keep each race fresh. The money you make is spent on upgrading your car’s speed, handling and armor, while additional car models, weapons and equipment are unlocked by finding loot drops from other drivers' wreckage during races. Each car has a different acceleration and upgrade cap, while each weapon has a different attack pattern, damage rating and ammo capacity. The game looks great, only some textures and occasional close-up will show this was ported from iOS. As for the control, it is smooth and spot-on (at least with a keyboard, which is what I used 20 years ago with the original Death Rally ). In true tradition of the original game, it has multiple cameos from other games.

The original 1996 DR was one of my favorite games that I played on my first ever PC (bought with my own money :-). Obviously it got me very excited to see that a remake was available for free back in 2012. After installation I just couldn’t stop playing, even after I had finished upgrading all my cars I kept on driving online until I got to number one in the online kills category. Then I’d realized that this game was dangerously addictive for me and I suddenly stopped playing it after 3 intense months.

Gearshifters
A fantastic arcade shooter!
Pros
-Great gameplay
-Creative enemy/faction variety
-Awesome bosses
-Enjoyable progression
Cons
-Starting a boss fight with half or lower health could be an absolute drag.
-Difficult bosses/sections can have you repeating the same levels far too many times to be enjoyable.
Thoughts
-I feel like the bosses would have been much more enjoyable if you always entered the fight with full health. Perhaps after successfully reaching the boss and dying the amount of levels you have to repeat should only be one instead of two.

This game is Fantastic!
I played the demo before and loved it, so I knew the full game was going to be a treat. I know roguelite is becoming quite a common genre now, but it works perfectly with this game. It is so much fun having to play and earn the upgrades which then in turn make the game that little bit easier each time you play. That for me is the perfect way to get you playing and keep you engaged.
This game is a perfect mix of a classic shoot em up while driving a car and dodging bullets, so a car/shoot em up/bullet hell dodging. There are some great bosses to take down as well which are a lot of fun, working out their patterns and ways to take them down. For me its a perfect mix and it works beautifully!

OverShoot Battle Race
As a big fan of the original RRR I had to try this one out, and I have to say, it won’t let you down.
Overall the game is very well produced and for an early access game, I could only find very few minor issues that won’t reduce how much fun you will have.
The soundtrack is really good and the visuals are absolutely stunning, merging this kind of low poly style with flashy colors and visual effects definitely worked very well.
I only played alone but I assume it will be a blast playing online with my friends.

Amazing casual game. Looking at the screenshots one cant imagine how difficult it’s to steer the cars while avoiding get shot. Really addicting. Couldn’t find any bugs, showing how it’s very well done for an “early access”. I believe that is gonna be a great hit.
