Freedom Fighters
FREEDOM FIGHTERS REVIEW
My brother & I have been playing this game a lot over the years. We have this on PS2. We love this game and always wanted to see a PC release. But when we found that there was no multiplayer in the PC version, we were pretty disappointed. We always played multiplayer together even with other friends. I thought about an easy way of implementing co-op. At first, I wanted Bagzton or Isabella to be Player 2. But that didn’t make sense since
! Isabella gets kidnapped and Bagzton never fights. So I came up with something simple: Player 1 recruits a soldier and Player 2 controls that soldier. So, without further ado….

Review:
Originally released in the ancient, prehistoric year of 2003, Freedom Fighters tells a story of resistance in an alternate timeline where the USSR beat the United States to the atomic bomb and ended World War II by dropping it upon Berlin. This change of events leads to a much different Cold War, one where the Soviet Union becomes the ascendant global superpower and the United States quickly finds itself weak and alone, surviving only on borrowed time. Against this backdrop, the player takes on the role of New York plumber Chris Stone, whose day-to-day life is shattered by an armed Soviet invasion of the country. With his brother captured and his country occupied, Chris quickly finds that the only way to solve his problems is to engage in that great, time-honored American pastime: murdering Communists.

Survivor
Playing this game feels like you’re on a 90 degree day and you’re sitting on the toilet trying to force out a shit that is having a really hard time coming out and all you can feel is sweat running down your face and back as you try with every fiber of your muscles to force this hunky turd out of the backside of your anus. What I’m trying to say is that this game sucks and if you like it YOU suck. 0/10

bug #1 everytime you go into the weapon table to buy a weapon or ammo or even just look if you can buy a weapon the teleporter charge resets
bug #2 the plasma rifle does not reload it only plays the animation i even bought more ammo and it still didnt reload meaning i was stuck with no guns.
bug #3 with the shotgun most stuff goes down in one shot 2 if unlucky but with the fire ball throwing zombies half the time they dont take damage

Diorama Dungeoncrawl
Designed to be “NES Hard”, this game does indeed feel like an homage to NES Castlevanias. Occasionally, depth perception was tricky due to the perspective, but overall, I like what the diorama-like presentation adds to the formula. I’m not quite done yet, but I’m a fan of the way the challenges progresses. I’d recommend this if you have the patience for some challenging rooms with potentially “cheap” deaths (depending on your perspective).

One of the more challenging games by the developer. I can’t really think of another game like this on Steam that combines platforming and the sort of action here, but it was decent to play.

Omikron: The Nomad Soul
Omikron: The Nomad Soul has a very in-depth plot and constantly tries to break the fourth wall (whether it works or not) in order to convince you that your soul has been trapped inside the world of Omikron and that your soul and very existence outside the game is at stake in regards to the antagonist, the demon known as Astaroth. The characters you interact with in the main story are fleshed out in their own rights, some more than others. The player is able to interact with certain people at certain parts of the game and depending on what you say will determine what the character will reply with.

English Version
(Sorry, nie będzie polskiej wersji, nie mieści się. Chciałem umieścić w komentarzach ale jest limit 1000 znaków)
Omikron: The Nomad Soul is the first game of the Quantic Dream studio. It might as well be considered three games in one. For the major part of the gameplay it remains a TPP adventure game relying on the usual stuff: talking with NPCs and using items. Occasionally it switches to FPP shooter or hand to hand 1 on 1 brawler kind of similar to early instalments of the Tekken or Virtua Fighter series. It is worth mentioning that all of these are made pretty solid and none of them feels like it was forced into the gameplay without a reason (well, maybe with the exception of swimming, but it occurs 2 or 3 times in the entire game, which is acceptable).

Shibui Coliseum
The Apothem have arrived - and they want to play some serious games with Earthlings. Influenced by classic top-down shooters like Sinistar and Bosconian, Shibui Coliseum is a multidirectonally scrolling shoot ‘em up for fans of fast-paced arcade action.
-
Face 100 waves of increasingly deadly Apothem assault craft, spread over 10 vastly different arenas
-
Find a way to disable the Apothem command craft, The Anthracite, which relentlessly chases you for the entire duration of the game
-
Ran out of ammo or simply feel like parading your space suit? Teleport your pilot on to the arena surface and punish your enemies using your trusty peashooter
-
Level up your craft’s weapons systems and enjoy a dapper new paintjob or two
Perilous Warp
EDIT: 1.1 fixes a lot of the issues I had when I wrote this review! The Reaper disc has been fixed, many bugs have been fixed (including one which prevented enemies from being stunlocked) and even the mighty shotgun has been improved massively. Good job Crystice
Despite having some issues with weapon - enemy feedback, Perilous Warp is honestly my favourite game of this year so far. This game scratches a nostalgia itch no other old school / throwback FPS has been able to do thus far, with the healthy dose of Chasm: The Rift callbacks in the level design, weapons and enemies and the solid split - second gunplay bringing together what is an unbelievably enjoyable and faithful old school experience.

This review might be a bit biased as I am a huge Chasm: The Rift fan, and Perilous Warp fills that void that Chasm left. If you are a fan of Chasm, I highly recommend this game!
The game clocked in at around 5 hours for me. My first playthrough was on hard, and between exploring/secret hunting and dying to encounters, there was plenty to keep me satisfied. On lower difficulties and cutting out exploration, the play time would be significantly lower, probably around the 2 hour mark.
The Chasm references are littered throughout the game, with classic weapons making appearances and a few original ones. But PW also takes inspiration from other titles like Doom 3 and Half-Life in regards to atmosphere, and Quake 2 in its movement mechanics, in particular strafe jumping.

Karateka is a 2012 tribute to 1984 game of the same name, made for Apple II and Atari. The premise is simple: evil shogun imprisoned a girl and you need to save it by a series of honor melee fights one-on-one with shogun’s minions.
The game is really short, the run from the start to end takes for about 25-50 minutes usually. And if you want to compare the tribute with the original, well, it’s 50/50%: some say the original is still top-notch and the remake is so-so, and some think that even the original was mediocre, and the remake is only made the concept worse, ‘cause times had changed for 30 years, and you can’t enter the same river as it was before. And you shouldn’t, some would add. Not me, though.
