Open World Update review
I don’t know what I’m doing, or why I’m doing it, but this game is pretty jammin'.
Solo dev, been working on this game over a year. It’s definitely still early access (changing settings in the pause screen will return you to the main menu) but the gameplay is there. There are two ways to play right now, the open world mode, in which you complete objectives to unlock some kind of spacegate to go somewhere else (I haven’t succeeded in the objectives yet lel) or the turn based mode, in which you plant towns/factories, and so does the AI. At each of the locations, you can enter and battle it out against the AI’s defenses to try and take that location. Definitely a game to watch.

I first heard of this game due to it being shown on a showcase reel for the GODOT engine. It was one of the two most visually appealing games and the fact that it’s all made by one dude was intriguing. I was always curious if GODOT could be viable for a 3D game because like many, I too would like to make a game and I felt Unity and Unreal Engine were bloated and I’ve always preferred to make things lightweight, efficient and if I could use an open source, underdog game engine, that’s even better.

Out of Place
Out of Place deals with a serious theme telling the adventure of a teenage protagonist and his machine companion.
It shows the challenge of questioning the irresponsible actions and opinions of older generations without losing your roots. Moreover, it underlines how hard it is to overcome the fear of the future, but instead take action for a better world. These topics are embraced in a relationship between two teenage boys from different dimensions who form a strong bond to help each other despite their cultural differences.
The intense experience is accompanied by beautiful handcrafted visuals and soundscapes.

What started as what I thought would be a dumb meme of a game turned out to be a really fun experience. I really enjoyed what I played, and really hope the devs continue to update this more. It’s a bit rough around the edges, but with some polish and some gameplay tweaks, it could be a real AMAZING game. Hope to see it grow! Much love!

Project Blemmyes is a sci-fi themed roguelite game that combines battle armor, free movement, data simulation and AI mechanical elements.
In the not-too-distant future, a company researching AI technology is conducting an experiment to attempt to store human consciousness in a USB flash drive. As the player you’ve been forced to participate in this bizarre experiment, and through battles… and deaths… are trying to make your escape.

ORIGINAL:
Atmospheric is a very accurate tag for Rokka because gameplay gets surprisingly more difficult as the daylight fades. The atmospheric effect (the real natural phenomenon) plays a big role as you try to determine enemy positions as they emerge from the treeline. This is a great machine gun emplacement simulator and you should give it a shot.
Gameplay is pretty straightforward except I would suggest aiming with the crosshair instead of aiming down sight. Also, the distortion from the heat of the barrel added a whole other level of difficulty but I was able to mitigate it by timing my reloads well because the barrel cools off after reloads.
