SPITLINGS

SPITLINGS

I played this game in an indie event last year and I am pleasently surprised by how much it evolved.

Some levels can be frustrating, but in a way that your reaction is: “I’m going to keep playing until I beat it!” and not: “F*ck this game, I don’t want to play anymore”

Also, playing it with friends makes it even more enjoyable.

The map can be punishing at times, but you usually have a safety net before falling, control might be hard to get but it become really easy once you get it. I love/hate the new mode after finishing the game since it make the game way harder, but its good practice for the achievement

Theres a big con to this game though, on some platform, your poo animation will play but your character will stay at the same place, its still rare, mostly happen on some cloud platform, but still really annoying when it does happen.

My first 2,5 hours of this game were hell. I didn’t know how to do angle jumps and basically got stuck around 20-30%. I kept on trying and trying and finally figured out the technics and got better at it by playing. At the end I finished the game in 6:41:23 with a lot of faceplants (500-1000, didnt check in time and already pressed NG+)

SpinZap

SpinZap

SpinZap is a challenging game in classic arcade style. Use your reflexes, dexterity and boss skills to conquer 81 levels of circle zapping madness.

Your task is to steer the spinning circles using various control methods, such as halting, reversing and skipping forward, in order to find a clear path to fire at the plasma ball hiding at the center of the circles. Hit the plasma ball enough times before the time runs out to win the level. Failure to do so results in your cannon being instantly blown up in retaliation.

Depending on how quickly and cleanly you finished the job, you are awarded one, two or three stars upon completion of each level.

The full version of the game spans nine worlds, each world containing nine levels and its own theme song to set the mood.

SpinZap starts off very easy, but grows harder for every world you conquer. In the end, you will need nerves of steel, perfect control and excellent timing to get the highest possible score.

Single-player vs co-op mode

SpinZap was originally designed as a single-player game, but has turned out to be a lot of fun to play in local co-op mode and in ”Remote Play Together” mode. All controllers are active in parallel, letting each player contribute to the team’s successes (or failures) in the best way for each level. Note that there are no differences between the single-player and co-op modes - in fact, they are the same mode.

Control options

Keyboard and joypad / joystick controls are supported. Only keys or buttons are used to play the game. When playing alone, using the keyboard or an arcade stick is highly recommended. Using a joypad in single player mode is possible, but can be regarded as self-punishment, or the equivalent of a self-chosen difficulty level “insane”. When playing cooperatively, joypads work verk well since each participating player only has to worry about their part.

Resolutions and aspect ratios

The game supports a wide range of aspect ratios, making it suitable for ultra-wide and ultra-tall display setups (provided that the GPU and its drivers support such configurations).

Demo

Remember to try the demo to get a hands-on understanding of what the game is about, and how well it plays on your system and with your controller setup.

Warning

This game contains circular rotating patterns which may make it unsuitable for people with photosensitive epilepsy or other photosensitive conditions. Player discretion is advised.

Don’t Die! Douche!

Don’t Die! Douche!

This game is fun. It is relaxing but at the same time fills you with RAGE! You simply don’t know what’s going to kill you or when it’s going to kill you.It will make you sweat, you’ll laugh, you may even rage quit. I have live streamed this game on Twitch and I was giggling like a schoolgirl and I’d not even had a beer. Get some mates round, have a few beers and challenge one another to not die. Have fun!

Well, I played this game as a friend made it, and I thought I’d show my support. I’m very glad I did, but partly wishing I hadn’t. The main reason is because it’s so infuriating. It is a great game though, and I’m determined to complete it. Get it. Have fun, and try not to launch anything.

RAZED

RAZED

Damn this game is good.

Razed is a beautiful game about speed and momentum.

There ist 100% no break button. Plan your jumps, time your jumps and stick the landing - keep your momentum - Jump again. The more you play, the more you develope a sense of flow and every route you take through the levels just washes you through like a jet stream.

Can’t remember having such a blast with a game for a long time.

The game starts a little bit too slow for my pace, but that way it offers a learning curve even for beginners.

Real player with 32.3 hrs in game

RAZED is a fun, but slightly flawed, parkour speedrunner.

You race through 66 short obstacle courses, unlocking new abilities (such as jumping and wall-running) which can be upgraded as you progress. Running slowly (or stopping) and using abilities will drain your energy meter, while going fast and picking up gems will refill it. When your energy meter reaches 0, you explode.

I see some of the other reviews mentioning limited jumping as minus, but to me it’s a plus, as it means you have to plan out your route if you want to reach the goal, And spoiler:

! Once you unlock the final upgrade, you can jump and use abilities as much as you want.

I love this game with all my heart. It is ridiculously hard and so very weird. I got it on sale for about 75 cents a few months ago and i have yet to get past the second boss. I can’t explain it, as angry as this game makes me I always love it more than I hate it. It has some very clear flaws with it, but coming from a tiny dev and seeming like its a pretty early game, I can totally understand. With every new game I play by Take Toad, they get better, I can tell they’re improving with each strange, neat little game. Creeps Creeps? Creeps! is a great improvement, although it’s shorter and more simple. And Cyberdoge 2077 is unironically beautiful and hilarious.

Is there a good guide available: You don’t need a guide.

I really enjoyed this fun little game. It’s got a lot of charm and the main combat loop is tight. The difficulty curve feels just about perfect for a roguelite; it took me several attempts to make it through normal difficulty, but each time I made it further than the last. There is enough variety in the weapons and items to keep each run fresh as well. Learning enemies and timings feels great while the unique room layouts keep every encounter feeling unique and keeping you on your toes.

I enjoyed the small amount of exploration in the overworld although I wish it was a bit more present throughout. I also wish there was a bit less incentive to backtrack between floors and rooms. When low on health, money, bombs, or batteries it’s easy to just go back to get more, but very time consuming.
