Review:

Cool Game the music is great, graphics are pretty cool and unique had like the n64 3d feel with some really nice character portraits and it has a nice overarching story throughout. My main complaint is the VINE THOUGH the vine is the DEVIL 100% in some areas it will give you the hardest time using it (Getting the back pack in the cave OMG! painful). The side quests really aren’t worth doing either they’re a pain in the butt and you only get like two lines of dialogue for doing them. I liked the jimmy buffet cameo too that was nice. Overall a pretty solid game would have been 100x more enjoyable if the vine worked consistently though a lot of the time he’ll start climbing it then hop off. I did have luck with it in the forest and snow area (Thank god!), but everywhere else it was insanely hit or miss. Also my Navi for whatever reason wouldn’t go to the nearest thing I had to collect usually it would get dead set on going to the furthest or the most difficult to grab so once you got to the most difficult place you would have to back track to find the other pieces if you didn’t get lucky enough finding them on your own. The Potions can also take a toxic amount of time to respawn I know the reason for the slow respawn is so you can’t cheese some of the puzzles, but it really is too looooooong. There’s also some fool in a green robe in the forest standing on a bridge who won’t talk to me and has constructed the most invincible invisible wall that on the tree house bridges not sure what he’s doing there besides being a jerk since he won’t talk to me.

Neon Dimension

Neon Dimension

Looks like I get to write the first English review for Neon Dimension, which is a simple asset-flip/mobile tier Arkanoid/Breakout ripoff, only they somehow managed to have even worse graphics. They chose a very lazy retro neon background and instead of bothering with any art for the bricks, they just have numbers.

I never saw such laziness. On top of the lazy art department, the gameplay is really poor quality stuff, not even close to as good as Breakout. But wait, it gets worse, they want a laughable $10 USD for this lazy bundle worsening shovelware. Impossible to recommend.

Cartomante – Fortune Teller

Cartomante – Fortune Teller

A short but fun game set in a fantasy/modern setting where you play a witch who earns her living telling peoples fortunes.

The game has a beautiful art style and does a great job at world building. It has interactive dialog that succeeds at being mysterious, intriguing and often times funny. The game is short but very replayable with various different readings you can get for each person that results in different and often unique outcomes, you can play the same day over and over with different results each time.

This is a really good game. Short, but incredibly charming, an absolute steal for the price.

The dialogue is extremely well written, and it manages to be funny and thought provoking. If you’re like me, you’ll keep replaying it (and reliving the same day a la “Groundhog Day”) until you get the best (or worst) possible ending for all your clients.

Definitely do not sleep on this one!

Covenanted

Covenanted

Covenanted is a hand-drawn rogue-like with RPG elements and an original turn-based combat system

A contract with the devil is always a bad idea [/]

The heroine of Covenanted, bound by a contract with the Devil, is on a journey through the magical world. Pursued by the Inquisition and blackmailed by the Devil, she has to balance between light and darkness in order to gain the support of powerful allies and break the endless cycle of rebirth

Combat Alchemy [/]

The journey is full of dangers! As the game progresses, the witch collects recipes for unique potions and gathers ingredients to make her magic even more powerful. Each recipe has its own unique effect

Procedural generation [/]

The global map of Covenanted is generated for each session. The variety of locations, the number of opponents and the available rewards are selected in such a way that each race is different from the previous one

Visual style [/]

We pride ourselves on the visual style of the game. All the main elements were drawn with ink on paper and digitized. The world of Covenanted is growing, our artists are working on new characters and locations

Random events and story quests [/]

We want players to feel the impact of the decisions made in story quests throughout the game. Despite one true ending, the fate of the Covenanted side heroes remains in the hands of the player

Fairy Middle Ages [/]

When creating the world, we were inspired by the worlds of the fantasy genre, world folklore, myths and legends. In Covenanted, elves and werewolves live in the same world with the characters of the Brothers Grimm fairy tales and ancient myths

In this video I take a look at Angkor: Runefall, a nice new match three from HH-Games and Ironcode.

This is a refreshing change, it has it’s own look and way of doing thing from most of the HH-Games match threes. It still keeps all of the flare but looks different and has some unique perks. I enjoyed it and think it’s worth a look for a match 3 change.

achievements

great pick for achievement-hunters. achievements are interesting, without any unfairness. most of them require using magic attacks in some way (deal XXX damage, attack XXX enemies at once, use beam for XXX seconds, etc), which require either picking a right character, leveling-up in some unorthodox way, or finding a right enemy-spawner. sweet, fine and engaging

Chasing after nine parchments: chaotic but fun

Brief Overview

Nine Parchments is a magical twin-stick shooter which can be played alone or in up to four-person co-op. The game is set in the same universe as the Trine puzzle platformer series and shares the same vibrant surroundings and enchanting atmosphere. Nine Parchments is, however, very different from Trine.
