The Promised Land is a colony builder game sporting a huge resource management component. Players will frequently encounter an odd-ball assortment of arcade mini-games and puzzle challenges.

The sound is good. The game is fun to play and immersive. The graphics are particularly cute with plenty of humour lavished in some of the animations. There are many incidental references to stereotypes which are presented in an anecdote and comedy fashion.

The player recruits and trains villagers. Villagers specialise in various gathering and manufacturing professions. A few villagers need to be dedicated to research to unlock parts of the skill tree.

All My Gods

All My Gods

If you like games to be a challenge, All My Gods is not for you. No one ever dies and you cannot lose. You build a city and complete quests. You godly power helps a bit. It feels like a cheat at first, but it’s rather annother ressource which slowly refills then used. The game starts with a tutorial, and immediately after the tutorial the game is at its weakest moments. You have to wait quite a lot for stuff to finish. That gets a lot better, because later in the games there are a lot of corners where you can do something. I’m a big fan of casual games, and All My Gods is the best I have been playing this year. The story is not very deep, but the building of the city is really fun. Most casual games I’ve tried this year prevent fun by implementing a slow process and introducting coins/gems/whatever to speeden up things. That only helps temporarily. All My Gods is ok with buying it once and then actually playing and liking the game. I love All My Gods and I will replay it from time to time.

The game looks like an RTS, but it’s not. You build your city, but there’s no real challenge or losing conditions. Running out of food will make people protest. Enemies will wreak havoc, stopping a building’s production. Aside from an in-game acievement for playing for x amount of hours without upsetting your people, there’s no real repercussions for messing up.

The game consists of a single level which plays out linearly until the endgame grind for very expensive decorative buildings. It’s fairly balanced, and playing normally the game will unlock new buildings as you need them. You can still completely break the tutorial by predicting tasks, though.

I would really love to give this game a good review, but I simply can’t. It is broken, unfinished, and not even completely translated into English.

It is a nice, stylish looking tower defense game, but there is much that either is unexplained, doesn’t seem to work, or both.

For example every gun has options beneath it, that might mean damage, range, health, rate of fire and crit chance, but clicking on them doesn’t seem to do anything. All of those are stats given for each gun, but nothing changes when you click them, even after they seem to have leveled up fifty times.

The game has been translated over from Chinese, there are typos in some places (e.g. after base destruction). You can also see direct Mandarin in some text areas e.g a boss has appeared.

I also have a bug where if i zoom out too much the screen starts to shake i believe only on smaller maps. (May be due to ultrawide monitor 3860x1600)

Otherwise, the game is fun! Reminds me of Yorg.IO.

Great price at less than 10AUD, looking forward to updates.

(Early Access Review; as an early access release, you may experience bugs, content, interface, and optimization changes. If you are not excited to play the title in its current state & help to support the title to full release by reporting bugs and requesting additional content, you may want to wait for further development)

Welcome to Monsters Mall, a delightful new monster-themed management game. Even in the world of ghosts, ghouls, and things that go bump in the night, there are needs to fulfill, just as with humans. To satisfy all their monster desires you will be opening and operating a Mall just for otherworldly creatures. Start by attracting ghostly visitors to your shops. Collecting plasma spheres each day, you will upgrade the graveyard to unlock new creatures of the night, as well as stores. Spend your plasma wisely. As your stores turn a profit; you will be unlocking new areas to place your businesses. There are also areas to place various items, such as ice cream parlors, signs to hurry customers along and even crystals that generate plasma, with more to come. Watch for brilliantly-lit customers of various hues, who will drop additional plasma to use for unlocks. A fun casual fantasy clicker with many hours of gameplay already in place and updates coming.

Desktop Farm

Desktop Farm

this game is great to just have running and check back in on from time to time. the plants are adorable, the animals are adorable, and you can do some pretty entertaining things here.

personally, i made a maze for a bunch of cows to meander around and get lost in. those that got out of the maze got the sweet reward of getting satiated. those that did not are now stuck in the fences, and it is a deserved fate for not escaping before they got fully grown.

however, that isn’t to say that the animal ai is particularly bad, but they get stuck on fences a lot. as in, they’ll be trapped and infinitely walking forward forever into a fence and their satiation will plummet.

Desktop Farm is fun and it works like a basic farming simulator should. It did get a little laggy near end game but I must have had 2k animals by then. I did not feel it was heavy on the PC but i felt like the game limited its self from using too much RAM and CPU. The game did crash once or twice but it was far from crashing the PC. Moving around the map was kind of annoying because the blue highlight square would show up when right clicking and dragging. Despite that it was still very playable and enjoyable for a few days. It gave me the urge to play more in depth and expensive farming games while satisfying my idle itch. Get it if you are in the mood for casual farming/idle play, a few achievements or you need something to do while waiting for loading screens or smelting metal frags.

–Overall 8/10–

-Graphics: 6/10: Some parts of the map has icon issues and map looks oddly similar but overall OK UI design and little complexity makes the game more clear to understand

-Gameplay: 7/10: more than enough for a indie developer tycoon/colonisation game.

-Sounds: 10/10: i love the music that plays on the background.Other sounds are great

First of all, this is an indie game even tho it has potential in it you can see by the lack of some aspect; that potential never been used to its maximum. I considered this fact while reviewing keep in mind.

SUPER BUILD

SUPER BUILD

UPDATE 6-8-2020: The game, like most, also has an official Discord community. While the members are generally kind and helpful, the server is overseen by a handful of moderators. These few moderators subjectively decide whether or not you’re a “Good Builder” and rank you up according to their personal opinions. I find this very discouraging, as I’ve noticed certain unfair biases among a few of these moderators. We spend many hours on these creations using our imaginations, only to have a mod invalidate or overlook our entire creation. Whose to say we aren’t all Legendary Builders?

I began my journey with this game back when it first started as a little mobile project. As someone who always plays Minecraft in creative mode, I was immediately interested. It had a fun concept, beautiful visuals, decent interface, and constant updates. I think the updates were the best part early on. There were usually lots of new items making each update feel like an early Christmas. What really impressed me was the care the developers took to read people’s reviews, respond, and actually implement a large portion of the (unsolicited) suggestions. I’ve seen very few developers who care that much about player feedback.

bought the game at a discount of 90%, not a bad game, there is not enough multiplayer, but one is not bad either. it is clear that the developer has not abandoned this brainchild and continues to release updates.

My 5yo absolutely loves this game. It’s just simple enough to where he’s learned the WASD and mouse movements enough to play it by himself. Really appreciate developers who put stuff out that little ones can play.

Flotsam

Flotsam

This is a delightful game. The main challenges are to have enough food and water; currently there’s no other goal except what the player decides to accomplish. There are small hidden treasures (zoom in the first time you build a house for a drifter!) as well as small frustrations (priorities are still a bit buggy, due to early access and updates changing occasionally). I generally stay on the slowest pace to play, enjoying the atmosphere, the music, and watching my little drifters scurry and swim around.

Still very promising, but definitely not ready for Early Access. Content is extremely limited and repetitive, and for those who play games like this on a regular basis, there’s about 1.5 hours of content. Hardest part was getting stable water supply, which I achieved on take 2, and then subsequently completed the game, which restarts you with your existing city at the start of the game.

In addition to this, I went through the game and focused on building a bigger city, rather than completing areas - bad move. The game has numerous bugs, including one that locks you into the map view and requires a forced restart. Other bugs included stuck boats, workstations that villagers refuse to use until you clear their queue and restart everything, production limits that are not really followed all that well, and etc. Several flaws in the UI made me want to claw my eyes out as well - like the blocky “Exit” button that you can see sticking out behind the “Delete” button on the “Continue” screen.

How did I not review this game? Basically… for me… its a low tech city builder. Well, city is the wrong word. You have limited space, limited income, so you better plan accordingly. While the game isn’t severely complex it does take serious though into making the best decisions you can.

The game is worth the price and is best enjoyed with the tv or youtube going on in the background. I chose seinfeld.

Inclement is a very addicting little farm management game with its very special style. Its graphics and especially its font take getting used to and the controls and menues are a bit fiddly, but after a few minutes of gameplay it is quiet fun. Its a great game to play while doing something else – not requiring your full attention. For the most part you are waiting for resources to be gathered in order to upgrade your farm so you can gather more resources. Still its a lot of fun to see your farm grow and to progress through the different aspects of the game.
