Crystal Project

Crystal Project

Explore the world, find Crystals, and fulfill the prophecy to bring balance to the land of Sequoia.

…Or maybe you’d rather spend your time collecting neat equipment and artifacts? Or tame strange creatures and fill out all the entries in your archive? Or perhaps you’d rather hunt down every monster and conquer the world’s toughest bosses. Or maybe you’d rather travel to the farthest reaches of the land and uncover the world’s greatest mysteries.

The choice is yours, as it should be! Or is it? They say that those who stray out of line will be punished, killed, or worse. Maybe it’s for your own good that you stick to collecting Crystals, just like everyone else. But where would the adventure be in that?

  • No random encounters!

  • Manage Threat to control which party member a monster will attack.

  • No hidden information. Preview turn order, damage, and probabilities like in TRPGs.

  • Discover and unlock new classes.

  • Assign sub-classes, pick passive abilities, and equip all kinds of special items.

  • Invent unique team compositions, or stick to the MMORPG Holy Trinity.

  • No missables!

  • Seamless transitions between zones with no loading screens anywhere.

  • Uncover the mysteries of the world all on your own.

  • Metroidvania-style progression.

  • No invisible walls! Try to jump and climb anywhere you want.

  • Overcome platforming challenges to discover neat loot… and other stuff.

Above the Stars

Above the Stars

Fun game, and the voiceover is funny, well acted, and enjoyable.

I like leave the game running while at work, come home, buy everything I can with the collected money, then blow up anything that has the audacity to come near the planet I’m protecting.

Fantastic blend of incremental, idle, and active mechanics - all are well done and blend nicely with each other. Not many games make we want to leave my computer on all day when I’m not in front of it, much less make it the first one to be maximized when I sit down.

At the end of the day, I’ve gotten more out of a number of free games. I don’t mind paying for incrementals and idles and the game is cheap. However, the content is very shallow IMO. The upgrades are uninspiring, the overall prestige system is tedious and you’ll quickly find yourself without the desire to keep doing the same thing over and over. The grind I can handle… if the payoff is worth it. I do think the dev has promise though, and I hope they’ll learn valuable lessons for the future.

TL;DR - Skip down to “THE VERDICT”

Anyone who has ever played or seen a video about Minecraft, can probably identify this as “Sky Block”. I went into it mad that they are trying to cash in on, not only another Minecraft clone, but a paid version of a free minigame someone created withing Minecraft. While I am still upset at the idea, you have to remember that the only way to play Sky Block is to own a copy of Minecraft, or at least install and get into the map.

SkyLife however is a variant of Sky Block that runs on its own, and with (somewhat) higher quality graphics. It’s the Unity engine instead of Java, however the quality of the textures are really bad. Using an engine capable of textures greater than 16x16 should be using hi-res graphics and models. Just look at Eco and Creativerse as examples.

Kill Them With Cuteness

Kill Them With Cuteness

Awesome for a first game for a single dev! Great level design definitely makes me nostalgic for platformers of the early 2000’s (Crash Bandicoot, Jak & Daxter, Spyro, etc.). The voice actors deserve an award for their contributions.

Would absolutely recommend for anyone with an hour to kill. Now all that’s left to do is wait for the GOTY edition to drop.

Bought this game thinking it might be a bit of novel fun. What I was presented with was a buggy, incompetent and unfinished mess. Asking any money for this is robbery, not even worth $4.50. Aiming mechanic is beyond broken, objective unclear, enemies look shit. BAD!

Voxel Runner - Pure Soul: The Journey of the Witch Emily

I was surprised, interesting story with good plot of the game.

I finished the game but I wanted to play longer.

I loved the music and sound effects. There are moments of tension, got out of energy mode mode and there was a spider in front of me, I already thought “shit” kkkkk!

Really Short and simple game. About thirty minutes long. Loved the art and diversity of monsters.
