A Hat in Time

A Hat in Time

Favorite game.

I just want to give kudos to Pascal Michael Stiefel for the music and the integration of music into the game.

Different parts of the forest for instance have different themes, and it changes as you move between them. You get a bouncier version if you drive the scooter, but most of all the linear levels have music that escalates as you make it further in the level, and he’s invented a new genre of music, music that makes speed running levels feel satisfying!

11 out of 10.

Also, kudos to the art design. Kudos to the level design.

Such an incredible and cute game!

When I first started playing A Hat in Time, it kinda threw me back into the PS2 era of epic platformers and stuff - collecting things and reaching the areas as per usual. I really love all the areas and map designs, as well as all the cool characters.

The OST in this game is remarkable and it really just gives you more to the entire level design, y’know good vibes and stuff. Unless you’re like… Somewhere else, eerie place maybe? Everything about this game is so cool and good and it’s super fun to play it with friends. The DLCs are amazing, too!

Alchemic Cutie

Alchemic Cutie

Alchemic Cutie is almost good. It feels aimless. The writing is a bit immature, the quest lines feels padded and there are way too many items - to the point that the world feels full of junk. There are also some loose ends design-wise which aren’t tied up, and several obvious bugs, such as the way text is displayed at times. Definitely buy on sale and only if you are really really hungry for a little sandbox farming game that is more on the gentle, aimless Animal Crossing / Slime Rancher side than on the more purposeful and rich Stardew Valley side.

Alchemic Cutie is not Stardew Valley. Probably unironically, it’s more Slime Rancher than Stardew Valley; but it’s more Graveyard Keeper than it is Slime Rancher! It’s more My Time At Portia than Graveyard Keeper and Stardew Valley but not more My Time At Portia than it is Slime Rancher.

Now that you’re confused, let’s talk about what I do and do not like about FetchQuest Slime Simulator.

This is one of those “I wish there was a Neutral Review option” reviews. I can’t bring myself to give it a negative review because I have had fun with it. When I was managing slimes, I was having fun. When I was doing what is the majority of the game, I was not having fun. The majority of the game is undoubtedly, fetchquests.

Craftlands Workshoppe

Craftlands Workshoppe

Been playing this off and on since early access started and I’m gobsmacked by the negative reviews by people with very few hours played.

There is a TON of content, yes it’s a bit grindy to start with until you understand the mechanics with workers but there really is a lot of game here for the price.

Orig review below:

This is a delightful shop management game full of interesting mechanics and strong progress goals pushing you to become A Master Of All Crafts.

At present in EA I haven’t encountered any game breaking bugs and it feels like its 75% towards being an excellent time sink.

First Impressions - It’s fun but rough around the edges.

Craftlands Workshoppe dabbles in a bit of everything from gathering, crafting, consumables, trade, management, a semi-automated worker system, etc. There are a fair number of systems and game mechanics but, many feel hollow or half-finished at this stage in development. With that said, the current state of the game does show promise.

-Gripes-

Not a whole lot is explained well and pacing really needs work to make progression flow better. Most of the crafting is progress bar/timer based while smithing features a horribly annoying minigame, which I found odd and out of place. I also think workers are overwhelming and introduced too early in the game, although, they are a time-saver as you progress and earn more cash. The big issue early on being they cost too much upfront to hire and in continual upkeep considering the starting profits. Lastly, gathering and crafting in general require an obscene amount of clicking which could be streamlined to prevent pointless time waste.

Storm of Jigsaw Puzzles 拼图风暴

Storm of Jigsaw Puzzles 拼图风暴

Good Jigsaw Puzzle game, and yes you can use your own pictures and turn them into puzzles so long as they are in a PNG format. there are a ton of puzzles but you have to unlock them as you play. the only down side i can see is the speed of the puzzle pieces as you spin them can be a bit to fast, but you get use to it.

A really neat jigsaw puzzle game.

Pros:

  • Physics make it feel like building a real puzzle, since puzzles aren’t based on a fixed grid like many other games

  • Can combine pieces to form bigger pieces

  • A lot of puzzles in different categories with lots of different sizes

Cons:

  • Rotating is really sensitive and it’s difficult to properly align pieces

  • Pieces snapping together is sometimes very insensitive, where pieces will snap when dragging them in close proximity, while other times pieces can be in the exact correct positions but still won’t snap together

Enter The Backrooms

Enter The Backrooms

Honestly, the graphics look bad. But that doesn’t exactly make the game bad.

You see, I’ve lost interest in backrooms over the past few months. It became the same thing: mono yellow office rooms, more levels. It became too predictable after a while.

This game you see here called Enter The Backrooms, doesn’t do that.

It intentionally deviates a little from the wiki just to make this game a little more unpredictable. Honestly, I prefer games that deviate from the wiki more than games that follow into the wiki’s footsteps. I do not like games that follow the wiki for the backrooms much as it makes me feel like the backrooms aren’t a horror story anymore, but rather an adventure story. This game may be a wiki game, and I find this game an Adventure game more than horror. It is just my opinion, you can disagree with me, but I find this not very scary. Although this is not very scary, I never said this game is a bad game.

Enter The Backrooms is an example of what hard work and time aswell as effort can do.

The game is well made and gives off a unique atmosphere and already has given me chills aswell as small rushes of adrenaline while being chased.

Seeing a game based off the backrooms is amazing i’ve been looking forward to something like this.

Anyone who enjoys the backrooms should play this game for sure.

I cant wait to play more!

(Edit)

There are many different levels to go through ranging from level 0 all the way to level 11 and thats not even including the fact that more content is coming!
