Fit For a King

Fit For a King

Fit For a King is a relatively short game but is definitely an enjoyable experience. The whole game is centred around the summit that you will be throwing and your main goal is to outspend your rival.

Like the trailer says, you can pretty much do anything, from executing a foreign ambassador to marrying a literal piece of sh- ahem refuse.

At times it can seem a bit aimless and it can be hard to find the clues to get things you need but otherwise is quite fun and definitely worth a play.

The game has a weak and slow start, don’t let this dissuade you. The controls are dated and supposed to feel like a mid to late 80’s crpg, but are way more straight forward and easy to understand then those ever were back then without 200 page manuals. Once you can get a good grasp of the controls the game opens up and the gameplay starts. For the most part it’s a puzzle game with some loot hunting in it. The humor is pretty good and the mix of both serious and silly just strikes that perfect balance. It’s only really down fall and biggest selling point is that it’s short and sweet and complete. It left me wanting more, which is rare for most game these days. It made me want to give ultima another shot or some other Crpgs. I guess some minor things that made me sad was that while there was a ton of lines for the NPCs I wish there was more , and by extension more tasks or quests. (Spoiler) Another minor thing was that it’s never explained in game that some walls can be walked through as a sort of secret entrance.

Mission IDLE

I cannot recomend this game purely because it must be either focused or all other windows must be minimized.

This is an idle game you cannot idle and it feels super bad.

Worse- it doesnt mention any of this.

I might have around 24hours on record but this being the case, at least 10 of those hours was the game actually sitting there, doing nothing…………….. LOL

——–Update————-

I contacted the developer about this and it seems there was a bug in the afk code that was causing this issue.

This is a simple, grindy, idle game and this dev’s 3rd game. I like it. It isn’t complicated, but it’s very easy to get all the achievements in under 4 hours. You could keep playing to make your numbers bigger, which I was fine to try, but there’s a major bug that prevents this.

Even though the game is only 6 months old at this point, no one plays the game anymore so the dev isn’t going to work on it anymore. Understandable, but there are some huge problems with the game in it’s current state.

Hello!

I would like to say that this game is very fun to play. It’s still being developed but this game is very addictive. It actually helps calm me down.

The soundtracks, the vibes of the game are good. You can go at your own pace, do what you want with your Tavern and it’s very fun to play with friends!

I would 100% recommend this game to everyone!

Very fun little management game. I normally do not purchase Early Access games given that they tend to be pretty rough, but as this one stands (11/13/2021) I’ve put almost thirty hours into it without much hitch or problem. Highly recommend, love the art.

Fantasy Story

Fantasy Story

Fantasy Story is a tight, punchy platformer with more than 80 rooms across four distinct zones, all employing unique mechanics to make for new challenges. Enemies are varied and tough and there are plenty of secrets to uncover. The world is deep, rich and ready to explore.

A world brimming with light, kindness, and joy now lays barren.

The adventurers that roamed these lands, and kept them safe from evil, were young and strong. They fought to keep the people who inhabited it safe and secure, from the breezy, green fields to the freezing tundras. But alas, these Heroes were nowhere near prepared for the impending doom that awaited the world.

Drasorin, a warlock determined to disrupt the balance of the world, sought and slew the great Heroes. Unleashing his powerful minions to pillage, corrupt, and destroy, Drasorin succeeded in his evil goal, and now the lands are his. Those that survived live in fear; fearful of the day that Drasorin will come for them, too. While he sits high and mighty in his castle, his disgusting monsters are left to roam the world, and destroy any good that is left.

You are one of the few survivors. Seeking vengeance for your home and people, you set out on the greatest adventure yet. Pick up your sword, Hero, and godspeed! For you will face deadly foes and overcome perilous obstacles. Be wary! As you travel, you will encounter few safe havens to rest - and even fewer friends to assist, so you must be careful! Take back what belongs to the people of this world, bring the hammer of justice down on Drasorin, and be the great Hero that everyone needs!

RPG IDLE

RPG IDLE

Wonderful! Simple but the mechanics works. It is a great idle game to run on a second window while playing something else. I like that you can move from the forest and work you way up to the city. For now combat and training seems well balanced. I wonder how it will work out after 100 or so prestige. There was an option to turn the volume down and that is great because the clicking sound is dreadful. Problem is the volume toggle only controls the music not the annoying click sound unless fully muted. The sound track is pretty decent and upbeat so it kinda sucked when i had to mute it. There seemed to be a small delay between when the enemy despawned and when i swung my sword. The enemy was dead before i could swing. With faster attacks it might look fine tho. I wish there was more mobs but for the price “it what it is”. Maybe with support there will be an update with more gates or bosses. The main thing here is the mechanics work and for that i would recommend RPG IDLE if you are looking for a satisfying and simple idle game.

UPDATED:

The developer fixed the problem with the game not working in the background, and I also tested its new recalculating function after leaving it in fight mode overnight, to see if my toon would get zeroed, and it looked good.

Overall, since this game is so cheap, it’s easy to get your money’s worth, and it’s fun figuring out how to gain levels efficiently.

Note that the ATK upgrade behaves differently from most of the other upgrades I used (like defense): each point adds 10% of your existing base attack at the time of the upgrade to your attack in a fight, but does not update your base attack, or scale when you add more to your base, so it’s worthwhile to hold off on the upgrade as long as you can.

I like idle games . . . a lot. Not sure why, but I play them almost exclusively. This is the 4th title I’ve played from this dev. This is his 6th game in about 11 months that he’s published on Steam, plus a few paid DLCs. Don’t know how many other games he’s published on other platforms.

From his other games, he seems to copy most of the core mechanics from one game to the next, along with some style aspects of the UI. This game has more refined graphics than the previous 8 bit graphics. I don’t mind 8 bit games at all and I’m not sure whether he made these assets himself or got them from an asset pack. Likely a mix of both. It’s a simple, grindy idle game with a built in auto-idle feature (buggy) that auto fights for you over night, if the game runs over night, so you don’t need to set up an auto clicker or anything. There’s no prestige/reset mechanic, but you increase the difficulty and rewards by fighting through all the mobs in each area at level 1, then when you beat the boss at the end, you can increase the mob difficulty and keep doing loops, increasing the difficulty as you go.

Pros:

  • Cute character sprites.

  • Decent music.

  • Small download.

  • Active developer.

Cons:

  • Sprites and texts are all different resolutions/sizes that don’t mix well. The dev needs to gain a better understanding of pixels, resolutions, and why stretching pixel art is a bad thing.

  • The GUI style makes it impossible to understand which numbers are prices and which numbers are how much you have on hand. The GUI style also does not do a good job of graying out or recoloring controls when you cannot afford things. The buttons at least have a hover-color, which is an improvement from the dev’s previous games.

I thought this game was decent until I logged out. When I logged back in, all of my progress was gone after 63 hours of play as there is NO save option. And there is NO offline progression, so you gotta grind constantly albeit it can be in the background. And smelting large amounts takes longer than mining, I haven’t found a way to speed up smelting process if there is one. This game needs major improvements.

Long term investment idle game.

DLC is only if you want to support the developer and the goodies it gives are nothing one cannot unlock normally in the game. (Just a little boost to help you start)

I refunded this I can post the video if the creators want to see it for feedback upon request, but the camera angle literally beats you to death it makes it incredibly inconvenient to move and if this wolf changes elevations he jumps by his own volition making it VERY difficult to be on top of some of the roofs and maneuver. The theme/aesthetic is the best part of the game by far, but even though the wolf** can move well at times the camera being a spas and the way he has to move in a full circle to go left and right just about make this unplayable. I also fell straight through the map in the second area which means you have to restart since there’s no continue so that’s really not great.

Even though it has its flaws, this is one of the best idle games I have played!

The story is great, and I like how even small choices change things. Its filled with cliches, and is probably written by someone who doesnt have english as their first language, but still makes it all a bit more entertaining!

There is some bottlenecks and obstacles, but getting over them is very rewarding, even if it takes some patience. You will probably have to be ready to grind at least the first hour/hours of the game because of them.

Real player with 1087.9 hrs in game

It’s kind of nice to not get instant gratification, but also I feel like this game is way more just incremental than it is truly idle.

There are a bunch of parts where you just won’t ever really meaningfully progress unless you’re actively playing, and no real way to make a “build” or “playstyle” that will do much to avoid that.

The “habits” system is the only thing I’ve seen so far that I’d call true idle, and even then the diminishing returns set in hard and fast, and many habits are ironically only practical to train past a certain point once you’ve actively played enough to make the idling faster.
