All Walls Must Fall - A Tech-Noir Tactics Game

All Walls Must Fall - A Tech-Noir Tactics Game

A great game that just needs a bit more polish. If you liked xcom or syndicate (old school) youll probably love this game.

This game has a few levels to it.

The first level is a great shooter/ and minimal rogue or semi-RPG with time travel mechanics. Some of the firefights can be intense and complex strategizing your twisting of time between hailstorms of bullets allowing one man to wipe out an army.

Its not terribly deep on the surface likly because they didnt get the funds to make the game its full intended length (west germany as well as east germany). I do not regret any time spent, or not spent in this game. (yes its a bad joke since at the time of writing this I have the world record of completing the entire game in 1 minute 29 seconds… time travel accounted for=).

A masterpiece ruined by retard downvoters, small minded casual homophobic cry babies.

I got this game during early access, did a first run but messed the first 3 tutorial missions,

earning low money and getting stuck on harder missions because with low money you can’t upgrade much.

Now that the game is published I did a serious run, nailed the tutorial missions and also unticking the ‘decision timer’ option,

which allows you to think about each move without losing time (time = money).

After those 3 missions you get access to the map, where you can select your next mission.

Liquidators

Liquidators

Never in my whole life have I been more terrified within the realms of a video game.

I believe a large portion of that comes from my intense phobia of nuclear power plants, but there’s also a huge variety of aspects this game nails in terms of horror. As someone experienced with music composition and production, the first thing I want to point out is the absolutely stellar sound design. Low, abstract drones bounce off of each wall, and you know it’s coming from… somewhere. But you don’t know where.

It’s a short but tense 3D exploration and interaction game, it happens in several rooms inside a nuclear plant. The story is based on an important fragment of the actual event Chernobyl Disaster.

  • Graphics

Old story in 1986, then not the modern HD style. If you don’t accept pixel things, go to Settings- Video- Filter Strength, turn it Low or None.

  • Music

Radiation detector sound and background noise in plant. No intentional extra sfx.

  • Gameplay

1. There might be some bugs under fixing, but it doesn’t influence the experience if you like this kind of game. The developers are active in the pinned discussion so just ask.

Super 3-D Noah’s Ark

Super 3-D Noah’s Ark

This game is probably the best game from the Wolf3d engine which you never heard of in the 90s. When this first hit steam and I came aware of it, I looked and instantly recognised the engine. I knew it was going straight to my wishlist and soon got it.

I didn’t play it at first for a few reasons. The screenshots show a hell of a lot of brown to rival Quake. Partly the religious side of things and you need to be in the right mood for an old game in the days when you have lots of other things you can play.

This is actually a really fun game. I’m having more fun with it than I originally thought I would be.

Super 3-D Noah’s Ark is a labyrinth FPS from the DOS era which used and upgraded Wolfenstein 3D’s engine. It added a few cool things like MIDI support and texture-mapped floors and ceilings. This version on Steam has been repolished and ported over to modern operating systems, so now there’s no need to use DOSBoX to emulate it!

The quality of this port is really good. The sound quality has been bumped up significantly, it can play in 1080p with true 16:9 aspect ratio (no stretching), the mouselook feels natural and it supports mods. This release also has achievements and trading cards, which is more than what most re-releases or remakes get.
