I Expect You To Die 2
I Expect You To Die 2 is the second game in a VR escape room, puzzle game with an action twist. In the game you play as spy who is on a mission to defeat the evil, Dr. Zor. The game is played seated, and contains 6 levels, and a speedrun challenge and secret achievements for each level.
The game has 6 extremely well designed levels, each with their own piece of the story, and different puzzels that can be very difficult to figure out. In each level you need help stop one of Zor’s plans, without dying to the many traps. Each of the 6 levels this game offers include a unique setting, unique mechanics, and unique achievements. These achievements always include a speed run, and a bunch of secret ones which range from picking up hidden items, to beating the levels in a completely different way. The speedruns are very cool, as a level that takes 15 minutes the first couple times, could have a speedrun of 2 minutes. This is because some items have multiple uses, and some puzzles have multiple ways to complete them.

The Price of Freedom
It’s free, it’s short and it’s great.
I only downloaded The Price of Freedom because it was free. I had no idea what I was getting myself into. After a rather straightforward but fun intro, the story takes a turn to reveal something that sohws it is much more than just some run-of-the-mill free VR game. I won’t spoil it for those of you who haven’t played it, but the story gets to some pretty creepy, screwed up and shocking places.
Ultimately it’s only a taster as to what is to come, but already I’m dying to see what comes next, and I’m willing to pay for it if it lives up to this prologue. My only concern is that the next episode maintains the momentum of this one. Personally what I’m hoping for in episode one is:

The Price of Freedom is a great game. You play the game as the character Agent Zero, a female agent, on a mission to kill the mysterious Benjamin Miller. The controls, graphics, atmosphere, voice actors and soundtrack are sublime, making you fully immersed in the game. The game is also story rich and inspired by true events no spoilers, telling a dark and intriguing story that will leave you anticipating the next chapter which the developers plan to release in this episodic series. The gameplay involves solving puzzles which are of medium difficulty, keeping you interested and immersed. The game is flawless and also free to play.

another unfinished and abandoned game with buggy and broken achievements.
graphics are below average and voice acting is even worse.
story and gameplay seemed ok and workable in the first level (aka chapter 1) and i actually had some fun playing. but after that the game went downhill fast and after chapter 2 the game just ended in the middle of the story.
and it will stay like this since the developer officially dropped the game to focus on creating even more half as#ed & unfinished garbage games.

Red Matter
I have to confess that since getting my Oculus Rift in January I’ve been underwhelmed by the lack of professional titles that are available on VR. However THIS game is the whole reason why I got into VR. I’ve grown hesitant in purchasing any VR title lately because of just plain bad programming. I’ve been burned too many times. Red Matter is definitely a pleaser. If it were just a 3D puzzle game like Myst, it could be said that it was just a “good” effort but add VR to the mix with the impressive graphics and artwork and that’s what made this one a winner for me.

***** PLAYED ENTIRELY ON LINUX VIA PROTON. NO WINDOWS HERE. *****
Summary
Good short walking simulator puzzle/exploration game, a few shortcomings but on the whole it is fun and elegant.
Longer evaluation
The bad
- This is a good but short game - I took about 5h including the time to solve the puzzles. If you read or watch the solutions online it will take even less time, say 2 to 3h. Also, since it is a fixed story with no branches and there is no action involved, replayability is zero. So you might prefer to buy it on sale.

Logic and diversity was the key to our work on this most significant aspect of the game. Just like in traditional adventure game most puzzles are tied up with objects, but there are also conversational puzzles and a whole bunch of logical mini-games.
Project Blue Book: Hidden Mysteries
Pros:
-
good artwork for scenes, hidden objects, and characters
-
interesting storyline and plot
-
cutscenes and audio that get the player immersed
-
the player is given a “why” to what they are doing, rather than just mindlessly finding objects
-
Steam achievements
-
good price compared to some other hidden object games (I’m looking at you Artifex Mundi)
Cons:
-
minor bugs
-
limited options to alter gameplay to player’s wants/needs
Pro/con (player dependent):
- Explicitly hidden object orientated (if focusing on progressing in the game; the minigames are optional)
– Real player with 3.6 hrs in game
Survive-able if you stand tutorial you can’t turn off.
Well I guess it expected for Blue book hidden object.
I was hoping for more. Like animated videos.
