Death Trader: Cold War
This game was great! It was super fun and im suprised its not more laggy and gltchy than it is, i was sceptical buying it but im glad i did, lots of fun, you need to fix a few bugs but i loved it otherwise and suggest you buy it! One thing I would like to see is things like being able to change the time you start like 1960, 62', 65, etc. I would also like to see more weapons from more country’s, I would like a variety in this game.

The game has a few kinks but the dev(s?) have been quick to patch. It is worthwhile, especially on sale. I’ve not been able to get more than 2 years into the 30 that the game has due to bugs but I’ve gotten a lot of fun out of it.
Nov 8
I can now play 15 out of the 30 years of the game before it crashes or becomes unplayable. The majority of the early bugs are gone, the gameplay is more user friendly with a better ui/tooltip, was a fun game before but it’s even better now. The devs may have released it prematurely, even as early access, but it’s been rapidly improved.

For the Night
A Cold War story.
”There’s a job for you. I need you to go to Stockholm. One of our people there have gone missing."
For the Night is a spy thriller, taking place during one single night at Hotel Adler in downtown Stockholm.
The player takes on the role of veteran STASI agent Lene Ulbricht, who is sent to Stockholm to find out what happened to a fellow agent who has mysteriously disappeared.
Through social interaction, deduction and lies, Lene will get to the truth about everything. The truth about the disappearance, the hotel, the war, the enemy and herself.
-
Espionage thriller story, set in the late days of the Cold War.
-
Point & Click-gameplay with heavy focus on dialogue, dialogue choices and problem solving.
-
Gorgeous 2D art.
-
Choice and Consequence with nuanced and layered impact on the outcome of the story.
-
Challenging problem solving through taking note of words in dialogue. The game won’t solve the case for you.
-
Focus on finding out information and social interaction.
-
In-game time that actually has an impact on the story. Spend one hour somewhere, and characters will have acted or moved elsewhere. The game and it’s characters do not sit around and wait for you to find them. They act on their own.
-
Multiple endings and outcomes, allowing for multiple playthroughs, trying out different paths and strategies to solve the mystery.
-
Original dark, jazzy soundtrack by saxophonist and composer Andreas Ferronato.
For the Night is developed by two-man studio Pusselbit Games (Erik Blåsjö and Leo Låby)
Music is composed and performed by Andreas Ferronato.

Beyond Enemy Lines: Operation Arctic Hawk
This lone-wolf based tactical procedurally generated open map based fps is one that pays its dues to past military classics such as Project IGI which first springs to mind. From hindsight its an admirable attempt a true to form action esquire albeit with a few quirks that need a little refinement, ( a few ammo creates would be nice) since ammo is in very short supply for the some of the ARs, SMGs and tactical pistol. Aiming down sights could also do with a little touch-up since its bit sluggish to steady on distance enemies. But aside from these minor indiscretions Polygon Art have a first good impression & I’m tingling with anticipation for the next episode of BELOARW.

So far the game has been very fun, although there are some features and fixes that would be great to see in the next game.
List of features and fixes (to be added):
-
attachments
-
optimizations
-
fixing the key rebind since space to jump doesn’t work so when I try to rebind it I cant move in game and I have to restart
-
leaning mechanic
-
lowering the price of the game or releasing free dlc since the first game is quite expensive for the amount of content you get (In my opinion)

DEFCON
One of those games that is both well programmed and well made to make nuclear war just another giddy joyride.
The game focuses on a world during the late 70’s and early 80’s, where nuclear war is taking place, and up to 6 nations can declare into it, the nations include The European union (and several other nations not currently in the EU) The USSR, (A and some parts of Kazakhstan) Asia (Not Ocenia, Australia, or Mongolia) Lain America (Not including Cuba) Africa, and North America including Canada and the United States.

This was my first game bought online on steam… years ago. It’s an an-and-off relationship, and recently I got back into it a little, and the old fever caught on again!
Pro:
-
not much required in terms of specs (although it can blow the fan a lot in certain situations)
-
UI has a great visual design
-
soundtrack is fitting
-
game mechanics depend on other players to work out one way or another: good online games are common
-
interesting game modes, for example: diplomacy. Everyone sees everything at the beginning, being in one team. Who defects first? Lots of maneuvering and chit-chatting among parties and backstabbing! Oh the backstabbing! Boy did we have fun with that!

Beyond Enemy Lines
I’m a fan of Project I.G.I. and already liked this game very much when it just came out, because of the similarities in the core gameplay, and I missed this feeling a lot. BEL fullfilled my expectations and is still getting better with every update.
Going completely stealth is hard to master. In case of failing to stay undetected - which you should try as long as you can - you really need to aim precisely, otherwise you’re a dead man if you have no cover nearby. This should be a tough walkthrough challenge for Centerstrain01, who knows his videos ;)

Word Tactical is recently thrown around a lot and it usually refers to games like Operation Flashpoint, Armed Assault, Ghost Recon, Swat etc. Despite their history, many tactical shooters have being changed over the years and they are going further and further from their origins with each new entry.
Among the good old games there was a small first person shooter developed by Innerloop studios called Project IGI.
IGI series was not very popular and was killed after the release of a second game, IGI 2 Covert Strike. Despite that the series is unfairly underrated, both games are very enjoyable to play even today.

Bunker - The Underground Game
A review would not do you much for this game. You either love it or straight find it dissatisfying.
For the game, the story itself is not very special. It may work ten years ago. Nowadays, you can find all those randomnesses pretty much everywhere. On the plus side, the humor is tolerant, you may giggle at a time, that will depend on the references, so you either get it or don’t get it. My favorite part is the interaction with E.M.O., the supercomputer, too bad they cut him short.
Prepare to use a guide for the puzzle, some of them make no sense, again, is all base on the references, so you either get it or don’t get it. On top of the puzzle, this game also offers “33 super secret achievements”, trust me, they don’t call it super secret for no reason. They don’t fit entirely in with the story, is just something extra you can do. You need to count on the community if you want to unlock them all. One of them is so super secret that you will probably never going to achieve it, don’t know if it bugged, can’t find the answer on the forum.

Fun retro classic point and click adventure game filled with communists, computers and cats! The story is wacky: you guide a nerd into escaping from a communist bunker. Lots of silly jokes, lots of vodka and funny computers. A lot of computer games references which I loved. It’s almost like a time travel during the cold war era and into the eighties.
The graphics are okay, the music is… err communist. Sadly there’s no voice over. The dialogues and descriptions are funny, you either love it or hate it. The difficulty is nicely done, the game is challenging but never unfair. Some of the puzzles are like minigames, totally original ones. The only times you’ll really be stuck is because you missed an access to a room, otherwise it’s fairly classical stuff, with tools to use and items combo in the inventory.

The Cold War Era
If you have an itch for a Cold War themed game, this might scratch the surface. And by that I mean it’s not a complex, grand-scale type of game, but a rather simple, yet fun and engaging little battle of world dominance which can be played in a single session. In fact it doesn’t even have a save feature, so if you want to go all the way make sure you have an hour or two to spare. It plays sort of like a board game, you start with an equal score in January 1950 as either side (US or USSR) and you have to manage and juggle your resources and instruments (like spies) to influence and obtain new countries which add to your score. The game ends in 2000 when the side with the higher score wins.

Pretty basic gameplay, but its a captivating time sink none the less. Definitely worth a fiver.
Read the manual before playing, it’s simple to pick up if you’ve done that.

All Walls Must Fall - A Tech-Noir Tactics Game
A great game that just needs a bit more polish. If you liked xcom or syndicate (old school) youll probably love this game.
This game has a few levels to it.
The first level is a great shooter/ and minimal rogue or semi-RPG with time travel mechanics. Some of the firefights can be intense and complex strategizing your twisting of time between hailstorms of bullets allowing one man to wipe out an army.
Its not terribly deep on the surface likly because they didnt get the funds to make the game its full intended length (west germany as well as east germany). I do not regret any time spent, or not spent in this game. (yes its a bad joke since at the time of writing this I have the world record of completing the entire game in 1 minute 29 seconds… time travel accounted for=).

A masterpiece ruined by retard downvoters, small minded casual homophobic cry babies.
I got this game during early access, did a first run but messed the first 3 tutorial missions,
earning low money and getting stuck on harder missions because with low money you can’t upgrade much.
Now that the game is published I did a serious run, nailed the tutorial missions and also unticking the ‘decision timer’ option,
which allows you to think about each move without losing time (time = money).
After those 3 missions you get access to the map, where you can select your next mission.

Precipice
Its a pretty good 6/10 game that could be great but it can be extreamely frustrating to play. The concepts are behind it are strong and it does provide you with a sense of fighting the cold war, as you fund rebellions, rigs elections, strategically station your troops and try to come out on top of various nuclear confrontations. The art style and aesthetic are also gorgeous and i’d love to see more animalised takes on famous cold war imagery within the game itself.
That being said there are also alot of issues with the game that are also really frustating. The major issue that needs fixing is the lack of infomation giving to the player, especially in regards to how many turns you have left on a crisis or on how many troops an another nation has before you invade (maybe you should see the military strength of a nation when you deploy a spy.

I see that this review is one of the first to be read, so allow me to elaborate on some things that could be improved…:
1. Add and/or improve some perks. Example being some perks involve Warsaw/NATO regions that are utterly useless given that these regions have been nerfed to non-existence. Overall more unique perks to choose from would be nice.
2. (kinda 1-B.) Give an option to have Warsaw/NATO regions worth a lot more. If I recall correctly this is how it was originally designed, them removed in the update. I’d say compromise by giving a toggle option.

Alien Insanity
On the first day God created the dog. God said, “Sit all day by the door of your house and bark at anyone who comes in or walks past. I will give you a life span of twenty years.” The dog said, “That’s too long to be barking. Give me ten years and I’ll give you back the other ten.”
So God agreed.
On the second day God created the monkey. God said, “Entertain people, do monkey tricks and make them laugh. I’ll give you a twenty-year life span.” The monkey said, “Monkey tricks for twenty years? I don’t think so. Dog gave you back ten, so that’s what I’ll do too, okay?”
