Cold War
Criminally underrated game. Although the story is quite linear, I can’t remember any other game I played which actually leaves that much freedom in terms of how to solve the given tasks. I’ve heard you can even play it as a straight shooter, but the actual fun to be had is with trying out the many different gadgets, most of which are actually useful once you figure out how they work. It’s quite satisfying to come up with a new tactical approach and see that it works out - or doesn’t, having you learn and try better next time. Note that the x-ray camera has a very powerful discharge shooting feature (needs batteries) which can help you out when you’re otherwise out of ideas - I didn’t realise that until later in the game.

Played on Pacifist/Hard difficulties, went for minimalist knock outs(21 knock outs without the non-stealth missions as I stopped counting them.)
My rating:5/10(went down from 7/10 after the last parts of the game, still would suggest as discounted price is low.)
May include spoilers:
Game starts with having to knock out people to progress but it still didn’t ruin stealth. There were some escort levels but they weren’t annoying as I expected. The part you end up controlling another character game inactivates pacifist mode which means you can kill people at will but you can still stealth those levels UNTIL there’s a run&gun part which was the stealth killing part of this game although it wasn’t a long level so I could take that. And in the ending phase of this game npcies hunt you and you have no choice but KO most of them as they’re just running at you was annoying even later the game asks you to eliminate group of soldiers which finally proved me stealth part is completely over and I started using non-lethal rubber bullets I even didn’t wanna finish the game but I knew there wasn’t much left so. This ending parts takes the same place that you have been there for the third time or more which means there weren’t much effort put in level design. You face the bad boss 2 times but his guards onto you so you go until you have a sight with the target to end the game by using all of your equipment possible, then what? There will be many soldiers outside waiting for me and i only have couple of rubber rounds. I realized that the target is on my sight so i just shot one guy and he ran onto me so i can shoot him and finish the game.

REDSIDE episode 1
In the exciting technotriller REDSIDE , the player will visit the Soviet side during the Cold War.
REDSIDE is a series of games related to one plot, characters, events and the universe. I present to your attention REDSIDE episode 1 - the first game in the series.
During the operation to free Soviet citizens, the GRU special forces group receives information about the existence of an international channel for the supply of chemical weapons components. Intelligence assumes that someone is preparing a terrorist attack using a chemical warfare agent “Sarin”. Neither the targets of the terrorist attack, nor the executors, nor the customers are known, which means that the consequences of such an attack are unpredictable. In the context of a new round of the Cold War gaining momentum, such an attack could lead to the beginning of the Third World War. To prevent the worst scenario, the GRU uses all its capabilities and conducts a number of special operations around the world. Will it be in time?
-
A twisted plot will send the player to carry out missions in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. The game takes place in 1996 in an alternate universe.
-
To solve a combat mission, the player has more than 20 types of weapons available, from pistols to grenade launchers and sniper rifles.
-
Where firearms are useless, ammunition and additional capabilities will cope with the task.
-
In addition to brute force, the player can use cunning - elements of tactics and stealth will help in this.
-
How long have you been hunting terrorists from a drone, riding armored vehicles, or blowing up enemy patrols? Special missions and minigames will make your adventure even more exciting.

Arma: Cold War Assault Mac/Linux
What a classic!
It comes with the issues of the original:
-
missions/scripts are not super-solid … sometimes helicopters crash, tanks get stuck, etc.pp.
-
the UI is far from polished
-
creating/editing missions is time-consuming
-
it looks outdated
-
etc.pp.
BUT, it also comes with all the good stuff:
-
two campaigns with a lot of different missions and funny (as in retro-fun ;) ) cut-scenes
-
no mission will ever play exactly the same
-
big islands with forests, hills and towns (one can navigate inside of buildings)

Beyond Enemy Lines: Operation Arctic Hawk
This lone-wolf based tactical procedurally generated open map based fps is one that pays its dues to past military classics such as Project IGI which first springs to mind. From hindsight its an admirable attempt a true to form action esquire albeit with a few quirks that need a little refinement, ( a few ammo creates would be nice) since ammo is in very short supply for the some of the ARs, SMGs and tactical pistol. Aiming down sights could also do with a little touch-up since its bit sluggish to steady on distance enemies. But aside from these minor indiscretions Polygon Art have a first good impression & I’m tingling with anticipation for the next episode of BELOARW.

So far the game has been very fun, although there are some features and fixes that would be great to see in the next game.
List of features and fixes (to be added):
-
attachments
-
optimizations
-
fixing the key rebind since space to jump doesn’t work so when I try to rebind it I cant move in game and I have to restart
-
leaning mechanic
-
lowering the price of the game or releasing free dlc since the first game is quite expensive for the amount of content you get (In my opinion)
-

Freedom Fighters
FREEDOM FIGHTERS REVIEW
My brother & I have been playing this game a lot over the years. We have this on PS2. We love this game and always wanted to see a PC release. But when we found that there was no multiplayer in the PC version, we were pretty disappointed. We always played multiplayer together even with other friends. I thought about an easy way of implementing co-op. At first, I wanted Bagzton or Isabella to be Player 2. But that didn’t make sense since
! Isabella gets kidnapped and Bagzton never fights. So I came up with something simple: Player 1 recruits a soldier and Player 2 controls that soldier. So, without further ado….

Review:
Originally released in the ancient, prehistoric year of 2003, Freedom Fighters tells a story of resistance in an alternate timeline where the USSR beat the United States to the atomic bomb and ended World War II by dropping it upon Berlin. This change of events leads to a much different Cold War, one where the Soviet Union becomes the ascendant global superpower and the United States quickly finds itself weak and alone, surviving only on borrowed time. Against this backdrop, the player takes on the role of New York plumber Chris Stone, whose day-to-day life is shattered by an armed Soviet invasion of the country. With his brother captured and his country occupied, Chris quickly finds that the only way to solve his problems is to engage in that great, time-honored American pastime: murdering Communists.

Alekhine’s Gun
Alekhine. One of the greatest chess champions. Not only for his timeline but for the whole history of known chess players. He was eager for finding smart, precise moves, he was rather an attacking side even in his defensive schemes. So, it is actually a cool name for a Hitman-like spy operative, who’s supposed to very selective and cautious in his covert work of dispatching enemies and revealing their secret plans.
However, when we’re talking about this specific title, Alekhine’s Gun, we’re actually putting ourselves in quite a strange stalemate position. To be brief, it is the “enjoy the good part and suffer a lot of shortcomings as well” - type of game. 40% rating on Metacritic should warn you as well - even if it’s underestimated, Alekhine’s Gun is definitely not for everyone’s tastes.

If your a fan of Death to Spies games like i am this is the third entry to the series as the devs had to work indie as their publishing license expired so they had to Crowdfund & Kickstarter their work but it didn’t go well so Maximum Games published and helped them complete it. You still play as Semyon Strogov with some familiar gear such as Chloroform and throwing knives but you have less weapons and equipment then before with less space to bring items for the next mission so choose well. Depending on how you perform you will earn points to buy new weapons, equipment and upgrades for your guns to use in the coming missions. There’s a new Instincts mode that gives you awareness of where the enemy is looking at and who finds you suspicious but also is a meter that tells you if you can knock someone out instead of spotting people unlike before so you have to regain that meter by doing objectives if you want an alternative to Chloroform. The overall gameplay is mostly similar with different objectives and different disguises but you can’t go prone stance anymore, crouch sneaking only effects noise and you can’t ride vehicles anymore either then the overall map is much smaller less complex linear even at times making some areas rather difficult cause of how cramp it us but you can back to wall to hide as well as surprise attack from plus performing “accidents” is easier then before at varied locals with missions getting more progressively complex as you reach the final mission. This time its not just historical missions but there is an actual story now compared to before with the biggest weakness is that it doesn’t use in-game cutscenes unlike before instead using pre-rendered art stills but still gives a great thriller spy story. Graphics are better then before and help with the immersion and believability despite the level size. The soundtrack is alright like games before it though at times the audio doesn’t sound as good or as clear. Overall not bad but it could’ve been more despite that for what the game is its a decent entry to the series that you can buy on sale if you want to know how Smeyon Strogiv’s story ends or need another social stealth game alternative.

Beyond Enemy Lines
I’m a fan of Project I.G.I. and already liked this game very much when it just came out, because of the similarities in the core gameplay, and I missed this feeling a lot. BEL fullfilled my expectations and is still getting better with every update.
Going completely stealth is hard to master. In case of failing to stay undetected - which you should try as long as you can - you really need to aim precisely, otherwise you’re a dead man if you have no cover nearby. This should be a tough walkthrough challenge for Centerstrain01, who knows his videos ;)

Word Tactical is recently thrown around a lot and it usually refers to games like Operation Flashpoint, Armed Assault, Ghost Recon, Swat etc. Despite their history, many tactical shooters have being changed over the years and they are going further and further from their origins with each new entry.
Among the good old games there was a small first person shooter developed by Innerloop studios called Project IGI.
IGI series was not very popular and was killed after the release of a second game, IGI 2 Covert Strike. Despite that the series is unfairly underrated, both games are very enjoyable to play even today.

Kenbo
Simplistic, boring action game.
I did not expect much from Repa Games, seeing that their games look like asset flips. This might be one. If not, it is otherwise a low-effort game.
Store page also lies or at least exaggerates greatly. It lists the following features:

-
Increasing Complexity* Dynamic Music* Beautiful Visual style[/olist]
First, there’s three enemy types. Each has one straightforward attack pattern. The game progresses in “waves” that show diminutive differences to each other; maybe there’s slightly more enemies in each wave. I couldn’t tell the difference.

ARMA: Cold War Assault
It is the last mission… We’ve beaten the Russians off to the end of the island, and now it’s time to apprehend the mastermind behind it all… General Guba.
Me and my spec ops team of eight finish our briefing: to find and capture General Guba alive before he makes his escape off the island. As we make for Guba’s headquarters in our M113 Armored Personnel Carrier, we see a friendly machine gun jeep, probably forming into the friendly assault that will schedule a little while later. As we drive further to our objective, I spot a dirt trail along the mountain path. We follow it to find two ruskies guarding an abandoned outpost with a Mil Mi-24 “Hind” attack chopper hiding in the back. The gunner of the M113 takes out the two in quick bursts and I tell my men to board the Hind. “Out of fuel” 3 in my squad tells me. I find a fuel truck hiding behind a wall and refuel the Hind. As we start the chopper me and my men get ready for what comes next…

This is the game that got me into PC gaming over a decade ago.
I still remember the very first time I played it. This masterpiece felt like a true war simulator back then, since there were not many games like this. It was really realistic in terms of difficulty.
● Really immersive campaign. Multiple characters, each having their set of skills on the battlefield. The cutscenes in this game are so good and long. It actually feels like watching a movie of Cold War.Campaign is also quite lenghty, variety of missions, never a mission indentical to another.

Commie Killer 2069
I started playing this game, and I couldn’t stop. I killed commie after commie. Each kill brought a sense of peaceful serenity I have never known before. Once I started killing, there was nothing else I wanted to do with my life. I am afraid to open the game up again. The first time I ran it, I killed thousands of commies over a two day bloodbath. I know that I will though. There is truly nothing in this life but blood, death, and the murder of pixelated communist soldiers.
I am afraid I am losing myself, and will never exist as anything but a murderous desire for blood.

Greatest game I have ever played, this is the Cyberpunk we were promised.
The FOV is amazing, as well as the graphics, they really give me insight on living with without lenses in my eyes.
and the combat is the real champion for the handicapped, giving intense representations of having to do without any form of fine motor functions.
