It’s a nice game. Simple as that.

Simple, easy to get into, unassuming.

A very nice way to spend some time with friends.

It’s also pretty amazing to me that this is one of the first projects by a solo dev. :D

I think this is still kind of pre-release, so the final product may be much different… and I really hope it does end up so. It’s very unpolished and the movement/physics are wonky as hell. Does not stack up to Helldivers or other games like that. The knock-down mechanic seems like utter BS and is basically an automatic death sentence.

The game is 50% off right now and, I suppose, I spent more time playing it (~2 hours) than I would have gotten for $5 for most other sources of entertainment, but if you’re looking for anything beyond a “$5 game” then I would look elsewhere unless this really gets polished up before official release.

I don’t know what, but something wrong with this shooter.

You have weapons, you have enemies, but no action, no interesting situations, interesting enemies.

I did run it few times, but maximum - 2 fights and game boring me(

After developer response I tried it once more.

All in all - the same. And found some bugs, like broken mission, character spawned in object after death.

After the mission 10 - not enought ammo on missions. For all classes.

Purple and blue loot dissappered very fast. In a battle no a time for looting, and some major loot dissappeared and it’s sad.

Dungeon Lords Steam Edition

Dungeon Lords Steam Edition

tl;dr - Dungeon Lords: Steam Edition is Dungeon Lords done Diablo 3 style. Fun enough to finish, but not what I wanted.

Based on my tastes, I should have gone with the Collector’s Edition of the game. If you’re more like me and like building the perfect character to face a challenge, or “roleplaying” a certain build even if it’s not the best solely for flavor and challenge - head to Amazon and buy a used copy of the Dungeon Lords CE. It’s not available digitally (believe me, I looked), and while I’ve never actually played it to confirm, I understand it’s much more “oldschool” in how it works. The CE doesn’t support widescreen resolutions, but then the Steam version doesn’t really support them either - any resolution over 1280x1024 makes the minimap “radar” style skill/spell worthless as it’s misrendered far off-target. A big bummer for a first-time player who doesn’t want to use a walkthrough.

Dungeon Lords is a classic. I wasted countless hours as a kid playing Dungeon Lords CE and I’d do it again in another lifetime. It was a hell of a buggy and incomplete mess, yes, but it was extremely fun. However, this Steam version isn’t the same guy, not quite. In fact, I feel like this game got updated to be more streamlined, to appeal to more people and get more income out of this game, and it’s visible in several aspects.

First off, they changed the character creation screen and I think it looks worse. Less detail and information, and looks a lot more streamlined. I wouldn’t mind this if the original gave more info on the creation screen itself and if they didn’t make another mistake, that being changing how the skills and stats work. In the original, there wasn’t much to go off of because it wasn’t a thorough game and you mostly figured everything out for yourself, so stuff like speed and damage wasn’t explained further than “I kill X enemy in Y amount of time so that means I do Z amount of damage”. However, the original had you level up stats and skills via spending XP points, in that you could have 500K XP points at some point in the game, and a single skill point could cost 50K to level up. You had full autonomy over your own growth. In this update, some skills go up with use(defense skills don’t) and you can spend skills to partially level up skills(e.g. 1 skill point = 50% to next level), and you also get individual points for stats. This completely changes how growth works in the game as you only really need to use your points on SOME skills and you can upgrade the others via usage. The individual points for stats is a good idea but you get 3 per level and it seems like their effects have been drastically reduced for balancing reasons.

Mighty Goose

Mighty Goose

Mighty Goose is a godsend. The current epitome of love letters to Metal Slug with some other on the sleeve nods thrown in. Megaman X to name one & more. None of it feels forced though & I need to stress that. Inspirations are obvious but Mighty Goose is wholeheartedly it’s own thing. Familiar throwbacks are implemented in a fresh way that work for this game first & foremost & it certainly isn’t at all riding on nostalgia. It’s a great & original game because they’ve designed a great & original game. The references aren’t overbearing & are just welcomed gravy.

Real player with 13.3 hrs in game

It’s a titled goose game and they got guns for hands. Short and sweet, Mighty Goose knows exactly what it wants to be and that is an intergalactic arcade-like action romp with anthropomorphic friends causing a bunch of beautifully satisfying chaos. The particle effects and wonderfully detailed bombast recalls the aesthetic of Metal Slug, which is impressive for seemingly a team of 3 main developers (Richard Lems, Diane De Wilde, and Mathias Kaertev).

On top of the generous checkpointing, variety of Star Fox-like buddies that can tag along, breezy yet varied levels, the freedom to buy weapons and vehicles on the fly makes for some silly scenarios where I can be on a bike with my buddies taking down a whole boss. It reminds me of my favourite moments in Halo where I’m trying to squeeze the warthog into every space and the game respects my player agency. Is it overpowered? Who cares, I got the money for it! The movement options help you be very nimble such as crouch sprint jumps that fling you out of tough situations or being able to hover longer if you keep shooting downwards. It’s a very offensive game so even the defensive ability of honking giving you a shield didn’t seem necessary with how easily you can get out of a pickle. The weapons pack a punch and any game that has a good shotgun is a winner in my books. The game can automatically go into slow-mo when cool shit is popping off much like a Max Payne. When you get the ability to slow down time at your own will, you can enact a screen-filling ballet of carnage that’s as satisfying to carry out as it is to just watch.

The latest instalment in the Splinter Cell series sees Sam Fisher go on a revenge-fuelled rampage, uncovering and thwarting a conspiracy along the way. It represented a major change of direction for the series (partially rectified by Blacklist), in that it was primarily action orientated, and not stealth focused as the previous games were.

Asterix & Obelix XXL 3 - The Crystal Menhir

It’s a very good and fun game for coop for two kids or a parent and a kid. Even though the coop experience is diminished by poorly thought way of handling camera when the two heroes are far apart .

So:

    • great graphics,
    • great sound ,
    • great level design , alternating between quests, puzzles , fights
    • good dialogues ,
    • good story,
    • dogmatix is adorable and fierce!! ,
    • fun fights with many options
    • Fakeusnewus , Econimicrasious and other funny characters

I have been a huge fan of Asterix since my childhood. Played XXL 1 many many times and 2 sporadically and loved them very much.

This game is a disgrace to Asterix (XXL). The developers didn’t attempt to make a 3D game like the other two games have been and made some random “mobile top down” game for the quick cash grab. The menu interface is even ripped off straight out of the XXL 2 remaster. No effort put into it in any way.

The game looks nice, going for the collectibles is very fun and bringing back a specific Roman from the very first Asterix comic (and animated movie) is a great touch. I think that is about all covering the positives of this game.

Conflict: Denied Ops

Conflict: Denied Ops

Conflict deneid ops is a coop shooter in which you (and possibly a friend) if you happen to have one of those and manage to feed him or her a potent mixture of drugs and alcohol. play a team of special forces something or other dudebros. who are tasked with finding nukes in a globe trotting adventure because the THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA FUCK YEAH has a conflict with Venezuela. the gimick is that both characters have different weapons and abilities. one is the assault class and the other is the sniper class if you will. Although when it comes to the sniper iv used spitballs that made more impact. at relative close range it took me 5 snipter shots to take down a dude charing at me with a shotgun. (guess how that ended) If you guessed with me using the other character to revive our fallen hero you’d be right. The game has the most generous Down but not out timer i have ever seen in a game. this is likely done to compensate for the fact that a lot of the time a level is put together in such a way as to allow both characters to take different approaches to best fit their playstyle. The reason i refered to both characters as a class of sorts also has to do with the fact that you can’t pickup weapons in this game something i hated. a fun thing in shooters is always to try the entire arsenal but your stuck with what you get at the start of them game. these weapons do get upgraded when completing missions but the weapons selection is more booring then a night at the morgue. This isn’t helped by the booring levels that have no need for exploration since there is almost no need to scrounge for ammo. Also the game has regenerating health and no collectables so all you do is rush for the objective no exploration what so ever. The enemy AI is thick as all hell partner AI is decent and it will take out enamy soldiers. Given that iv seen multiple occasions of the enemy killing itself using the many explosive barrels the game puts everywhere. to the point where before entering an area its beter to take out a few of the fucking things rather then using them to kill dudes. on the technical an graphic side of things its bad graphics look like the game belongs on a ps2 not a ps3/xbox 360. And the game has had several (audio) glitches and iv had a crash to desktop or two. But by far the worst is the horrable dialogue and voiceacting. its just cringe worthhy when the guys talk. Where in for example Army of two the 40th day or Star wars Republic Commando. The dialogue can be funny or characterising. None of that goes here its cringe all the way. This game doesn’t have any redeeming qualities if you ask me.
