Farming Simulator 22

Warning! Fanboy (and proud of it) review ahead.

This being the 5th version of Farming Simulator I have played; it’s pretty safe to say that I am a fan of it. There is no doubt. I will start by saying that this is literally the same game as FS19. As it is, FS17-15-13. A common complaint from some people for reasons that I do not understand. What makes our favorite games, our favorite game? If they turned it into a tractor demolision derby; would it be the same game we love now? While that does sound fun; it is not what we all originally bought the game for. We buy (and then rebuy) these games because there is something about them that we like. Why has the GTA Franchise been so wildly popular all of these years? For the reason I pointed out above. Standard Psychology aside…

(Summary at bottom)

NOT a reskinned FS19. I have about 650 hours on FS19 and I can most certainly say this is much better in many ways, and many things have been completely overhauled.

  • Sounds have had a major overhaul, makes the game feel more realistic and immersive.

  • More placeables than ever, including sheds with working doors, refuel stations (diesel, methane, and electric), seed & fert tanks, etc. Fences too, great addon, easy to use.

  • Many many new brands, and more tire brand options. Also license plates for equipment and vehicles.

This game needs some work but, that’s a given due to it releasing just recently. We couldn’t get the multiplayer to work. However, I believe the price is a little too steep. Just crashes a little too much in it’s current version for me.

pros:

  • for the key binds.

  • for the animations and sounds (the bumbly choo choo).

  • economy of the game.

  • couldn’t aggressively expand.

  • China was a wasteland of peaks and valleys.

cons:

  • esc pauses the game in menus.

  • Hawaii and China looks the exact same on the preview.

Ok; forst of all I want to thank everyone who helped me get this game up and running, a particular thanks to mayamak who was first on the scene to help, thank you very much :) Now that I have been able to play the game for a while; there are pros and cons to it, just like there are in most games. For anyone who is having issues getting this to run, the tips I got from mayamak and others were fantastic!

This game is not now like it was in at launch. It has now turn lights, police fines for crossing the red light or hitting cars. You can disable those from the options menu. You can also turn off the rain in the options becasue that was very annoying :)

You can drive a lot of machines in this game if you dont mind grinding the experience to unlock them all. You gain experience ONLY when you are doing the jobs yourself but you can have employes who make money for you as log as you have the trucks available for them.

Pro Cycling Manager 2020

PCM20 is an great update. I do recommend moving to the new game from ‘19.

My favorite improvement is the in-race graphics: PCM20’s are a step or two above the ‘19 game. You might not notice it at first. But I saw pretty quickly that some of the 3D textures – on buildings and other surfaces – are nearly photo-realistic. It might just be the result of using the latest Gamebryo utility, but it’s definitely a bigger step than the upgrade between ‘18 and ‘19. The rider faces are also sharper and more realistic.

Another year, again another version ;-)

This year there are again some changing extra’s in the game, giving it a bit more challenge in managing but helas.. not the (bigger) changes my friends and me where hoping for.

Never the less, we enjoy this game every year again.

We would like to see some changes in CARIERE mode.

  • For now the rewards from sponsors are out of balance in many ways : unrealistic demands for winning races (certainly for continental and pro continental teams) + errors and no good system to satisfy the sponsors (need a complete reworking there) + no extra money for going up in grade (from conti to pro conti and later to cya team).

Football Manager 2021

The only notable improvement to the game is in the match engine, especially the trophy presentations and added match day detail. However, there are still annoying bugs that irritate me, the main ones being:

-Wingers running at goal from out wide, electing to shoot from the tightest of angles rather than pass.

-Attacking players ballooning headers miles over the bar from point blank range for no apparent reason.

-Players inexplicably running at half pace and losing out on a ball which even your 90 year old nan could get to.

Real player with 2271.2 hrs in game

TLDR – I dont think the ME is as good as others are saying, not a fan of the UI but there’s a lot of FM in the game. Meh out of 10.

The overwhelming positivity on the match engine surprises me as that has not been my experience at all. Sure the animations look a bit better and we see some dinks now but there are really disappointing things that happen on the defensive side of the game which lead me to believe that the ME has regressed.

Defenders are incapable of dealing with long balls WHEN AN OPPOSITION PLAYER IS NEAR THEM. They either miss the header, misjudge the flight of the ball and see it sail over their heads or just watch the forward control the ball and run past them for a 1v1 (deeper defensive line caused the last one to occur more). It happens far too often.

Incident Commander

Incident Commander

Despite the few available scenarios (7, including tutorial, at the time of writing this), the game is certainly being worked on with new content being added.

-The controls are easy to learn and are responsive.

-There are no major issues with bugs (aside from being able to break the tutorial by doing things before it asks you to).

-Audio is decent. There’s no real “music” at this time, and the voices used remind me of Microsoft Sam, but it’s not a real problem considering the early development stage of the game.

Real player with 20.4 hrs in game

I cannot recommend this game:

I cannot recommend this game as this game fails to deliver on many of its promises. For a full release the game is obtuse, cryptic, and remarkably unwieldy. Polish aside the game fails it’s main goal of being a simulator for the Incident Command System. The Incident Command System is really an apparatus to approach an incident and then organize resources. The game fails here as the scenarios and objectives in many ways are more realistic than that of the Emergency series but the game’s mechanics are too unwieldy to allow for any praise.

Anno 1404 - History Edition

Anno 1404 - History Edition

Pros: This is a fascinating game of city-building, managing multiple medieval cities and colonies on various islands connected by ships. The economics are elaborate. The music is beautiful. The graphics are good without being beyond the abilities of a mid-range video card several years old.

Cons: What you get here from Steam is “Anno 1404 Venice”, which is enhanced from the original but with the original tutorial campaign suppressed. You can get access to it only by starting the game up in a special way. Be prepared for a LOT of micro-management, especially the need to start and stop farms and factories when an island’s storage is empty or full. It’s a pity that the designers provided no way to automate this adjustment. I recently received an “achievement” for having halted my production units five hundred times in a single game! Trade routes are a crucial part of tying your economy together but are not sophisticated enough. (I’m told that this shortcoming was rectified somewhat in Anno 1800). All in all, optimal play requires slowing the game down to the slowest possible speed, which in my experience cannot be done with the ‘-’ key that is supposed to control it. Instead you must press F11 and click on the left arrow on the bar at the bottom of the screen. With this done, the game is much less nerve-wracking, but a conscientious play-through of any scenario will require many hours.

Real player with 885.7 hrs in game

I love this game. I own the DRM-free version (Dawn of Discovery, Venice). I stopped playing that one for good in 2015 because of the well documented crashing to desktop memory related problem blah blah.

That problem is now gone. I have loaded my old profile, I have loaded my old game, I have played for 8 hours straight without so much as an FPS drop on ultra settings. Nothing in terms of gameplay has changed; this is still a well balanced economic city builder that I can lose hours in. If you’re new to Anno 1404, I highly recommend this game for its resource management, quest system, endless game mode, and city building. If you’re returning to Anno 1404, it’s as glorious as ever.

Conan Unconquered

Conan Unconquered

It was a hapless thief that found Thugra Khotan in his hidden grave and awakened the ancient priest and conjurer from Acheron. The priest had survived the destruction of his kingdom by barbarians by magical means. Now, centuries later he raised a huge army under the name of Natokh, the Veiled One. Prepare yourself for endless waves of enemies this formidable conjurer and necromancer will throw against you.

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2273391801

‘Conan Unconquered’ is a real-time strategy game in which you have to survive waves of enemies. Your task is to build and strengthen your base and erect defenses in order to survive oncoming enemies that quickly grow stronger and approach faster with each wave. You must level up your hero, gather resources, and raise an army. This, however, sounds easier than it is.

After a few hours, I think I’m ready to give it a review.

Long Story short, here’s the highlights. 8 pros - 3 pars - 2 fails. Recommended.

First, let’s get the obvious out of the way. Conan unconquered is a RTS style game remenescant of Age of Empires or, IMHO, more like the original Warcraft titles with it’s units synergy and hero class’s experience and artifacts. A tower defense base building a la Conan franchise with population and resource management with great lore. Time is short and waves can be brutal to an unprepared army. There is a pause for those of you that are desperate. Some comics and readings if you find it boring. Seriously. There’s also a coop mode.
