Aces of the Luftwaffe - Squadron
Not z good Shmup.
-
Long loading times
-
The action is hindered by text overlay at times
-
The zoom in zoom out effect adds nothing to gameplay but interfere with the action
-
The whole squadron thing is more a nuisance than anything else4
-
Grindy, you’ll eventually get all upgrade
The first AotL was better as a simple SHMUP, this one is boring

Very fun game. My only complaint is that sometimes with all of the firepower from you and your squadron as well as boss fire, it can be a bit hard to see where you are sometimes. Overall, the challenge is fair in most cases, the voice acting is entertaining and I appreciate how the story looks at both sides of the conflict with the DLC added. I hope to see more in this series!

Quest Hunter
I’d never recommend this to another person.
So here’s the thing. I played Quest Hunter & didn’t hate it. But there are a ton of reasons why I’d never point another gamer in this direction.
1st off, combat is terrible. Hitboxes force you to attack like the close talker on Seinfeld. Basically your mele is completely useless. You’re going to take a hit, if you try to use mele. Since you know you’re going to take damage, you might think that you can just use your shield to block & attack when your enemy is open. Problem is that you take a ton of damage through your shield, unless you stat up your shield block, which forces you to gimp your other stats(Health, Attack, & Defense). Level cap is 20, so skill points are limited.

Quest Hunter is a generic hack and slash action RPG game with some appeal. You play a random “digger” character with a shovel, cute clothing, beards and hair styles but very little actual combat abilities. The goal of the game is just beating down every critter and destroying every single rock and trees to accumulate shiny resources. Well it isn’t exactly this, but after 20 hours, finishing the main quest line can be summarized as such with no shame.
The combat is somewhat boring. You can hack forward with the attack button, block strikes with the block button and move around a 3D map with no camera controls. It’s very basic and not very challenging. I didn’t even bother blocking on my first play through. There’s no dodging, so the only thing you have to watch out for is not getting hit pass your tank line. To this base, there are spell abilities to grind for, but none of it really improves either the game’s difficulty rating (really easy) or the fact that I can’t play it for more than 30 minutes without being completely bored.

Treasured
Treasured is a co-op, puzzle game that will allow you and your friends to become the ultimate adventurer and grow the biggest collection of treasures!
Your Own Museum
The building is empty and ruined, but that doesn’t stop you from making the biggest and bestest museum there is! Your museum can never be too big. Add new wings to facilitate your collection and grow, Grow, GROW!
Temples and Dungeons
Rare artifacts and precious treasures lay hidden in abandoned temples and overgrown dungeons. Their previous owners build these to keep their valuables in and trespassers out! Be wary of traps, be smart at puzzles and be agile on platforms. Only the bravest, smartest and fleet-footed will get the price!
Together With Friends
Raiding temples is fun and all … but raiding temples with friends is the best experience you can get! Help your friends with tough puzzles, get them across wide chasms and most importantly, help them with their collection!
Open Development
Treasured is currently in open development. This means that you can see whatever I am working on. You can even be a part of its development since your idea can shape the game. Every idea is evaluated to see if it can fit the game. Don’t be shy, let the ideas flow!
Early Access
Your input will be the most valuable during early access! I can’t find all of the bugs, glitches and broken features on my own, even if I try. Updates will be as bug free as I can but some will always slip through! Little beetles, flies and other animal bugs can be present in the game, don’t repost them please.
Planned Features
-
Campaigns – Themed levels to fill entire rooms. These may contain a story.
-
Online Co-op – Playing with friends online is the coolest way to play of course.
Can’t Drive This
You have a friendship that needs to put on a test?
This is your tool, and you’ll even end up having a ton of fun!
“Can’t Drive This” is a party-game to give you and your friends a lot of reasons to yell at each other and a reason for that making-it-all-up-again-cold-beverage afterwards.
The objective is simple: One builds a neat driving track, while the other has to drive it (yes, WHILE it is being built) and the driver must (in all Speed-ish style) not drop below a certain speed.
But that’d be way too simple, there is un-simplifying obstacles like windmills you can crash into, trapdoors you can fall down in, pinball bumpers that almost literally bump’n’kick you out of the screen, and many, many more the driver will hate the builder for placing right in front of them.

Let’s be honest, you look at this game and what do you think? Probably something like: hey, that looks cute, probably fun for a couple of hours but not really something I’d buy.
This game is by no means perfect, but it is AWESOME. When I think of things to compare it to, I think games like Super Smash Bros. or the classic Pole Position. It’s just the most hype inducing, focus requiring, shout inspiring, frustrating game ever. It looks easy enough, “oh, I’ll just drive slow.” Nope. “I’ll just go straight.” You’re funny. “How bout I just throw away this piece.” Good luck with that.

Observers
This game is great to have fun with some friends. If you are playing with friends, I would suggest using controllers so that the keyboard isn’t cramped. When playing solo, some of the characters are much better at certain levels, so I would suggest you switch characters if you can’t figure the level out with the one you are using.

Overcooked
My wife has played this damn thing to three stars on every damn level including the expansions, including solo and co-op. She occasionally stomps my little ass in versus. And even though I’ve been totally dominated I have to say this game is tight. It’s one of those things that just . . . all the pieces work together and go together perfectly. I just want Overcooked 2, and I hope they don’t change a damn thing. It’s one of the better video games I ever played really.
To the people giving it thumbs down for not being great single player - well, it’s not supposed to be that. But like I say, my wife plays it single player and can beat the whole damn game like that. Which is insane and unnatural, but it can be done.

Shift Happens
People will inevitably compare this game to Shiftlings - maybe even call one of them a knockoff. Despite both games having some identical game mechanics, they are very different games. It’s similar to Halo versus Doom. Both are FPS games where a green marine blasts through unnatural creatures, but the gameplay is not the same. Having played around 5 hours both shifty games, I’m making a short comparison.
Shiftlings:
- Shiftlings singleplayer/co-op is both the same game, in singleplayer you just switch between characters

| Factor | Rating | Description |
| Gameplay Loop | 7 | This game is basically no-nonesense fun platforming. It knows what it wants to be and sticks to that. Getting past levels is pretty easy, but every level has these orbs, a secret area, and one bonus thingy to collect - which makes for a fun enough experience. There’s 4 worlds, and we found the 2nd one to be the most fun in terms of the quality of each and every level. Some of the later levels can start repeating the same ideas every now and then, but the game easily managed to stay fun for us through the 10h runtime. I do think I’d have rated it even higher with an even more crisp runtime. Just remember one thing, do not skip on the bonus levels. They’re the best content and the most memorable bits of the game for us. |
