RPG World - Action RPG Maker
Where to begin? Diablo meets Disney, Never Winter Nights meets Legoland. This game is great on so may levels.
Whether you like playing action RPG’s or you like to craft worlds/scenarios for your friends to enjoy, Single player, multiplayer, PVP, World editor.
I can honestly say I’ve not found a game that appealed so much in a long, long time. Mostly it is FUN. Fun to build, fun to play. Challenging if you’re a serious mayhem seeker, entertaining if you just like to explore.
Since I wrote the above the game has received a steady stream of upgrades in terms of new buildings, props, collectables, choosable theme music, new npcs and enemies, a brilliant character creator so you can build your own npc’s and enemies from a huge range of body parts and AI’s, upgrades to questing making it much easier to control the flow of play. The dev’s have been seemingly tireless in their dedication to fulfilling the game’s early promise.

NOTE: This review is written while the game was in Early Access at 25th of april.
You know, I’ve always been a person who likes to build stuff. That’s why I LOVED to play with LEGO. I used to build all kinds of stuff. Cars, buildings…whatever I preferred, as long as I knew how the pieces connected to eachother. Because how hard is it to build a tower when you don’t know how your tools and bricks work? That would be a mighty challenge even for master builders…
The hobby of building things kind of continued when I started playing video games, so I bought a game like MyWorlds before called Fight the Dragon. That game had an amazing level editor with lots of tools to play with, including a lot of ‘‘invisible’’ mechanisms like triggers and such. Unfortunately that game is suffering a slow and silent death due to lack of players, which brought me back to the quest of finding a game where I could express my fountain of imagination.

Wanderlust: Rebirth
[Spoiler-Free Review]
Wanderlust: Rebirth should come with a disclaimer stating your experience with this game will largely be influenced by the number of people you play with. Although the game is entirely playable in an offline single player environment, I found playing in such a way severely hindered my enjoyment of the game.
Whether or not we care for them, the Action RPG genre has evolved a few staple conventions. When a game largely ignores these, it’s noticeable.
Story and Scope: The story is extremely short (around an hour or two to complete the normal difficulty mode), it’s unimaginative, and failed to captivate me in any meaningful way. Scenarios felt unimportant as resolution to any situation often devolves into fighting this, that, or the other thing. The world of Wanderlust is barebones, at times lonely, and devoid of life.

This is a pretty simple yet brilliant game. If you are a fan of classic gaming and can get into the retro graphics this game will give you many hours of entertainment. It can be a harder game to beat 100% as it requires a group to do so. Yet with that said the gameplay is very engrosing even tho the keys are easy. Leveling is simple and easy to understand and the developers play the game as well as work on it even after release. With a good story, good retro graphics, nice hidden secrets, and multiple stages of difficulty that you must complete to be completely leveld up, this game will hold you in your seat for hours at a time. Simple crafting keeps the game enjoyable even after completion.

I love this game and the high challenge level that it offers, but also everything it rewards you with for succeeding and progressing.. more guns, more upgrades, etc.
Easy RECOMMEND and my score is an astonishing 9.5 out of 10. The bang for your dollar value is HIGH in this one!

Super Hydorah
Great attention to detail with beautiful pixel graphics, a catchy retro synth soundtrack and amazing game play. While taking inspiration from many of yesteryear’s 2D shmup classics, Super Hydorah definitely adds enough of its own flavor to make it a unique experience. The game feels more like a love letter to the golden days of arcade gaming rather than a formulative rehash.
The game play is challenging but fair, giving it that addictive feeling which makes you itch to have just one more go every time you screw up. And since you can only blame yourself for dying, you know that you should be able to improve and do just a little bit better the next time around.

I am not gonna say anything that has been already said. Super Hydorah is a top ten game. Level design, secrets, arms, music, difficulty… All amazing and very well balance.
I would like to mention the continue system, if you understand the philosophy of the developer and the connection his work has with the arcade world, you will understand this system.
When you lose the game you will have the option to continue, if you decide to continue you will lose different things: some ship upgrades, points, you will go back to the beginning of the stage, and also you will see a different ending if you finish the game.

Wally and the FANTASTIC PREDATORS
This game is honestly a ton of fun, very replayable, and as time goes on Boon keeps delivering new reasons to stop in an play it for another long while.
This is one of the few rogue-likes I’ve played where the focus was definitely on the fun, not necessarily the intense planning and stat focus that I’m used to, though that isn’t to say it’s easy! The charm and humor may fool you, but this is definitely the Dark Souls of Nintendo games. (Am I a journalist now?)
The many game-modes, weapons, and options make this one of the most impressive solo-projects I’ve seen. The game does feel a bit rough in some areas, needing a bit more content and polish, but that’s hardly a negative considering the amount of work a single person has poured into this game, and continues to do so.

Wally and the Fantastic Predators has enough potential to eventually stand shoulder to shoulder with games like Gungeon and maybe even Isaac, but it falls short because of technical issues.
Thematically the game is really cute and manages to be funny and tongue-in-cheek in a very charming way, on top of that the game-play seems pretty well designed in the time I’ve played. The overall message is very positive and the game is surprisingly light-hearted for its difficulty. Speaking of which the difficulty options and accessibility options in this game are really good, allowing for a range of difficulties and playstyles.

Ambidangerous
This is definitely one of the most unique games I’ve played. The learning curve it pretty steep initially but not overly difficult. You control two separate characters in a top-down shooter with a single controller. Your left hand controls one character and your right hand controls the other. Think of it as if rubbing your belly and patting your head got converted to a video game. I reccomend either putting both characters together initially so your movements are identical or just shoving one guy in a corner where he is safe.

Neighborhorde
I LOVE this game, it has a great artstyle, awesome weapons and enemies, and is it has an amazing replayability value.
I originally bought this game because my friend and I were bored and needed something to do, not knowing what I had gotten myself into. The game starts you out looking at a group of animals sitting on a couch together, but as soon as you get into the game you think to yourself, “Huh, this game looks pretty empty.” Then, five rounds later your like, “This game is too easy, give me a challenge.” and then the next round you are just killing some robots and then BAM you get kidnapped by a demon snowman that takes you into a corner and repeatedly beats the everliving shiz out of you. I have only played the game a little while now but holy crap this game is entertaining as heck and I still don’t understand why it isn’t more popular. Overall, I give it a 9/10, the only thing they could’ve done to make it better is to add some more gamemodes.

I stumbled across this game late one evening. I threw it on my wishlist and waited for it to release. I saw it came out a few days ago and decided “what the heck”. Man, am I glad I did. I absolutely adore Neighborhorde. I have to say, the looks, design, and overall aesthetic is fantastic. The cheery fun visuals and the 90’s toybox theme is wonderful. For 4.99 there is tons of content/replayability. Unlockable “hats” and levels as well as the “roguelike” in-run upgrade system have made it a staple already with my roomates. After we had played it for around an hour we already had the theme stuck in our heads. the controls are super tight too! I purposely go out of my way to buy couch coop games. I have a cooler master scout 2 case with a gtx 1070 that is perfect to take to parties. I have 4 wireless xbox one controllers and 4 wireless 360s. Steam couch coop games are always hits. For 4.99 this game is a total steal and totally worthy of being in my collection.
