Farming Simulator 2013 Titanium Edition

Farming Simulator 2013 Titanium Edition

At the time of writing I am in at 1200+ hrs. The extraordinary thing is the title is a bland, no bells and whistles sim.

So what’s the attraction?

Initially, starting with 1 paddock on the stock map and a small amount of equipment provides an impetus to do what farmers do. Plant, reap, sell, expand. But it doesn’t take long to learn the quirks and the cash points so “expansion” and accummulation of wealth becomes kinda pointless soon enough.

The scenery can be special, the fields and textures quite mundane. Equipment modelling is very nice. The AI can be quite stupid at times (but I couldn’t imagine playing this without them) and it’s got a definite farm feel. On it’s own, it might get 300-400 hours to dedicated tycoon-sim fan.

Now that the new Farming Simulator 15 has come out, its high time to write down my personal thoughts of 2013 Titanium.

This is a game sim about running a modern farm. You get 2 maps to start with, Hagenstedt and Westbridge Hills. The game started off with Hagenstedt, but more content and Westbridge Hills was added later in the Titanium upgrade.

So what do you do at your farm?

You grow crops, manage ure animals and do missions to put it simply.

The crops that you can grow are: Wheat, Barley, Canola, Sugar Beets and Potatoes.

Big Farm Story

I’ve never left a review for a game, but i felt i should leave one for this game. Firstly, I actually enjoyed this game. With that being said, i do think it has a lot of room for improvement. The biggest issue being the cost of crops vs what they can actually be sold for. I found that 90% of crops could only be sold for maybe 5-7 coins more than what it cost to grow them. And even certain crops say they make more when sold in the market, the difference is maybe 3-5 coins more than if they were just sold normally. This is also a common problem with other profitable items. There’s hardly any real balance, which makes it hard to make any real money even after grinding this game to a pulp in 60 hours after it’s release. The second issue i found with it, is the lack of actual story line. It’s a very slow progression to get anywhere, and then when I got to Chapter 6 I found myself saying “That’s it?” There’s not much to the characters either besides doing quests for them and earning friendship tokens, which just made it… boring. In terms of uniqueness, it is a very basic, linear story. Not really much to it. The MMO aspect was different though, but also random? I enjoy the idea of it, but in actuality the only real play ability with other players is visiting their house, and planting Friendship hummus to get more friendship tokens. Besides that I found it to be almost pointless and more of an inconvenience when trying to interact with quests in the town center. With all that being said, something about this game kept wanting to play more. It is similar to Stardew Valley and Harvest Moon, so it is an overall very mellow and easy game to play. I found it to be very stress relieving because it is so easy to play and get along with. I also believe this is developers first PC game after focusing on more phone games, so it definitely has the phone game feel. Which all the more stresses the fact it has lots of room to improve. I would absolutely come back to check it out after some larger updates in the future, but as of right now I feel I’ve finished everything that is worth accomplishing in the game. I’m excited to see where this game ends up in the future.

Big Farm Story is a cute farming game still under development so I’ll be a little bit patient with the current game’s flaws. The story starts off like most of the farming games, you receive a letter from your grandfather asking you to take over the farm because he has something else he needs to check on. Once you arrived at the farm, you find it in a bad state after the recent storm, but your neighbor’s son Benny offered to help you. Your mission now is to find out where your grandfather is.

Farm Folks

Join Farm Folks email list to receive news about game updates and potentially get invited to test game.

After washing ashore on Softshoal Island, you are given a chance at a new life. A plot of land awaits your green thumb to transform it into a booming farm, and a new world beckons you to explore its secrets.

Farm Folks offers a delightful mix of RPG and farming mechanics, giving you the freedom to get lost in the world while you build a farm from the ground up. There are many friends to be made, many crops and animals to tend, and a whole island to discover. What are you waiting for?

As you begin to nurture your plot, uncover great mysteries, and meet the citizens of the island, you’ll experience the everlasting magnificence of your new home first-hand–all while you rekindle the memories from your past that caused you to embark on this grand, exciting adventure in the first place. You never would have guessed that finding your purpose in life was just a shipwreck away…

In Farm Folks, live your life as you see fit–there are so many experiences to be had! Working the land and rearing animals is a bunch of fun, but there is so much more on offer here. Let’s run through what you can expect:

It wouldn’t be much of a farming simulator without farming, would it? Farm Folks features the time-tested farming mechanic in which players can purchase or forage seeds and begin to grow their farm into a bountiful and rewarding resource.

Once the soil is tilled and the seeds are nestled firmly into the ground, it’s time for some TLC–Tender Loving Care. You’ll water your plants daily, either by hand or through other means, until each crop has reached its maturation and it’s ready for harvest. Harvesting your hard-earned bounty can reward you in many ways, but if you’re focusing on that bottom line, then it’s time to put some coin in your purse.

After loading your haul onto your trusty mount, you’ll head into town and sell your goods to the island’s exporters. As your purse grows fatter and fatter, the farming process can be enhanced and streamlined until you’re running the island’s most booming farm.

Soon you’ll be wondering if it’s time to invest in one of those fancy mainland automobiles….or maybe someone who can help out around the farm…

Softshoal Island’s farmland is so very fertile because of the island’s local animal population and the generations they’ve spent grazing every acre of the luscious landscape. Today, farmers can continue to reap the rewards of Softshoal’s four-legged (and two-legged!) friends by giving them homes on your property.

The local forester is also a great carpenter, and he’ll make any kind of coop or stable that’s available–for a price, of course. Once the structure is built, you’ll need to stop by the nearby animal breeder to purchase some healthy livestock! Before you know it, you’ll be in the ranching business. Milk, eggs, and wool, oh my!

Nurture and care is key to making sure your livestock is producing worthwhile products. The happier your animal companions are, the higher the quality of their yield! Make sure you’ve got your brushes and special feed handy!

Sometimes reward is found outside the fences of your farm. You’ll need to explore the wonderful and diverse settings of Softshoal to find the valuable items that can’t be found on a shelf in the local general store. These resources include minerals and materials for upgrading your tools–usually mined from Softshoal’s extensive cave system, or fish and other precious sea life that can be fished from the island’s various rivers, lakes and coastlines.

Your progression is enhanced by what you find in the wilds of Softshoal, and sometimes searching for something trivial can lead to a grand adventure you never saw coming. Get out there and see what you can find–don’t forget your pickaxe and fishing rod!

Softshoal’s local community is a character-rich roster of living and breathing souls, all of which are just waiting to share their story with you. From those that live in the island’s coastal town, Port Meridia, to those found out in the wilds, Farm Folks features a diverse, well-thought cast of over thirty characters.

You’ll meet them, find ways to further your relationships with them, and soon you’ll know each one by name. These citizens offer quests a-plenty, and spout dialogue that’ll keep you coming back for more. High relationships come with high rewards, but don’t think everybody in Softshoal is going to be easy to please…

The seeds you sow in the community will quickly begin to bear fruit. However, you better be careful not to grow weeds! Build your relationships with townsfolk by giving them gifts, attending special events, performing quests, and remembering their birthdays. Earn enough favor and maybe the townsfolk will begin giving you gifts in kind. Some nuts are harder to crack than others, but with some finesse, they just might come around. You never know - you might even find love out there.

There’s beauty and intrigue found in every corner of Softshoal. It’s a compelling place that calls the player ever further into the mysterious woods, down into the dangerous caves. As you explore, you’ll see things that you’ll never forget and you’ll experience adventures worth re-telling.

And where better to relay your stories of heroism than back in Port Meridia? This fair-sized town has plenty of places to kick back and enjoy a day away from the farm, but it’s also home to the many festivals that you don’t want to miss!

Every season brings with it a great calendar of holidays that are perfect cause for celebration. You’ll find the townsfolk have a festival for nearly every one of those occasions. Make sure you’re there!

Your character is a reflection of your personality (we assume that deep inside, everyone is an attractive, island-dwelling farmer). As such, they can be customized in any way you desire, including your gender. After creating a glorious persona, we know there will be fashionistas who want to take it a step further. Want to give them a more epic hairstyle or outfit? Visit the barber or tailor! You will soon become a shining star in the farming community.

And so much more!

Farm Folks is whatever you make of it. It’s an adventure driven entirely by you. There is so much more to discover and so much more fun to be had when you get creative. Live this pleasant life to the best of your abilities and become the greatest farmer that Softshoal has ever seen!

monster taming homesteading RPG

first off; the monster taming: monsters in this game are called ‘magnus’ which isnt a name that rolls off the tongue; theyre seemingly called magnus after the developers

every magnus you come across (except bosses) can be tamed; to tame them you need to feed them something they like (land crops, aqua crops, meat, fish, ore, lumber… and theres a couple of odd ones; like nerlicts are cannibals); whilst every magnus has a favourite food you dont need that to tame them (shroomies favourite food is rubrum logs; but you can feed it any logs to tame it)… once theyve been fed enough you can interract with them and a minigame occurs (theres some scaling to this to try and prevent you from getting high level magnus too early)

Hi,

I have played this game for a little under a week. While the game is still in early access, the devs have posted news about getting the game to a release soon thus, this review is mainly for their use and hopefully will allow them to fix some issues that I have found.

1. Gardening: The seed-plant pricing ratio becomes ridiculous immediately after the first spring in the game. The cost for the seed is almost equal to or significantly greater than the cost of the fully grown fruit yield. The gardening mechanic is effectively broken, as seeds often only give 1 fruit per grown seed, and then you have to buy more seeds. Half of the seeds are priced significantly more than the cost of the grown fruit, these are seeds that give fruit regularly(~3 days) per grown plant seed, but the cost is often greater than 10:1 and the entire season’s growth will just cover the cost of the seed in the first place. There seems to be no other method of acquiring seed other than the shop, as grown plants do not yield seeds for garden expansion or selling.

VEGA Conflict

VEGA Conflict

Great game ruined as a money grab. This game has so much potential, but it falls short due to greed. The game is beautifully rendered, fun to play, strategic and challenging, but not too difficult. Unfortunately the negatives way out weigh the positives. The negatives, and there are two only, are: 1. this game is pay to win to the nth degree, and 2. there is a ton of down time waiting for ships to build or repair. To put this into perspective, building a single mid-level ship would take 4 days to build, or you can do it instantly for $20. Yes, build one ship for $20. You have seven fleets of 6 ships each, for a total of 42 ships. Let’s do the math here. If you want to pay to fill up your fleets with these mid-range ships it would cost you $840!!! That is nuts! Well, if you want to build them without paying it would take you 168 days!!! This also leads to a ton of down time. After you reach level 40+ (mid range), there isn’t much to do other than grind. Many of the events are above your level, and all of the quests are done. So you can grind. And wait. And wait some more. And wait even longer.

this game IS DIEING only Coiners play mostly, go find another game. This game was actualy fun to play but now with new stuff coming out every month thoese that spend 100$ a day or so have all the good/strong stuff. its also manily pvp. this game has gotten better but the above still holds true if you brand new you will have a hard time playing the game but if you can find a good clan that will help you you will fly through.

so any new person that joins now after they play for a bit. they get the ability to lvl straight up to lvl 60 which is a good lvl but you will spend about a month refiting you our base with the tech you got in 8 mins of playing the booster.
