Fun and cute coop game with a friendly mood and great art!

The game world is made up of different zones, and each zone has a number of levels. Each level of the game has 3 objetives/stars, only one of them being mandatory. The main mechanic is simple and easy to learn: one button casts one color magic spell, which you will use to defeat the different enemies of that color. The mechanic is well explored throughout the game, especially with the optional stars. These optional starts complement really well to the mandatory ones, since depending of how many stars you wanna get on a level your strategy will change a lot, thus making a simple mechanic quite challenging. Sometimes too challenging, as there are 2 or 3 difficulty walls that stop a bit the flow of the game, especially in the final boss. But besides that the game feels well balanced, it has a good difficulty curve.

Disney Universe

Disney Universe

This is a great game for little kids. Local Multiplayer! Unlimited lives, each level is really fun and lots of cool stuff to discover. Multiply player is great and some things require co-operation. One thing to note is that players can hit each other and steal gold, which can be frustrating if taken advantage of, but otherwise is really funny (pick up the player and throw him!). I have two remotes and play with my 3 and 4 year old. It seems like you can play up to 4 people. The game crashes (took down Windows too) if you disconnect or reconnect a remote with the game running, but has been stable other than that. The menus are a little hard for kids until they learn the pictures and then they’re off to the races. Tons of fun. If you’re looking for a kids game this is a good one.

Ok, So I of all the new Disney games that were recently released on Steam, I have to say that Disney Universe and Epic Mickey 2 are my favorite so far with Disney Universe on top.

You start off picking from a very generous choice of costumes for your character, from Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Tron, A Bug’s Life, the Princess from Aladdin, Angelica from Pirates of the Caribbean and a bunch more. And you can find a ton more costumes throughout the game to add to your costume menu and use.

This game feels almost like your playing a LEGO video game but the amount of fun you will have here is intense.

Bloons TD 5

Bloons TD 5

I have played Bloons Tower Defence since the first one. If you like tower defence games I highly recommend this one. BTD5 is by far the best one out of all of them. For the steam version they took their online one from their website and their mobile version of it and made it into one.

The Specialist Buildings has four upgrades like in mobile vs three like online.

You also have the towers that are from the mobile version.

You have the Monkey Lab.

They are keeping up with the updates very well on this too

It is a fun tower defense game, but the entire series has traditionally been free flash games and you can find most if not all of them still out there if you look.

Be warned, there is constant begging for more real money as they desperately want you to buy micro-transactions for everything. If that annoys you, skip this. If you can ignore the constant begging however, the actual game is fun and you can unlock everything required simply from playing.

Also note: The DLC are just more ways to waste money, they are pure cosmetic.

Citrouille: Sweet Witches

Citrouille: Sweet Witches

It’s not Lode Runner, but it’s not bad.

Citrouille is a single-screen action game with a ladder-building mechanic inspired by Rod Land. Since there are no restrictions on when or where you can build ladders, you have a lot of freedom of movement. Combined with a relatively high game speed and random AI, it’s clear that Citrouille is less about strategy and more about reflexes and adaptation. This is not in itself bad, but for how unique the ladder mechanic is, it’s less deep than I had hoped.

“A classic arcade puzzle platformer game with adorable characters.”

Review

Citrouille. It’s made by Lumen Section and published by Plug In Digital. This publisher has often been a partner for good indie developers. Especially among them, Lumen Section is a hidden gem. This game has been designed so that the player can experience well the developer’s affection for the game. This game is full of cuteness and loveliness. Let’s have a look.

Gameplay Style. This game has a modern sense about classic games. Simple but challenging and addictive. In addition, It’s more shining with graphic artwork and animation effects. Each playable character has its own features. Playing with these cute witches is a really pleasant experience. Moreover, there are some game modes to enjoy. Especially with the latest update, a customizable mode has also been added. We need to actively welcome these new content updates. The developer’s passion makes the game more valuable.

Shift Happens

Shift Happens

People will inevitably compare this game to Shiftlings - maybe even call one of them a knockoff. Despite both games having some identical game mechanics, they are very different games. It’s similar to Halo versus Doom. Both are FPS games where a green marine blasts through unnatural creatures, but the gameplay is not the same. Having played around 5 hours both shifty games, I’m making a short comparison.

Shiftlings:

  • Shiftlings singleplayer/co-op is both the same game, in singleplayer you just switch between characters

| Factor | Rating | Description |

| Gameplay Loop | 7 | This game is basically no-nonesense fun platforming. It knows what it wants to be and sticks to that. Getting past levels is pretty easy, but every level has these orbs, a secret area, and one bonus thingy to collect - which makes for a fun enough experience. There’s 4 worlds, and we found the 2nd one to be the most fun in terms of the quality of each and every level. Some of the later levels can start repeating the same ideas every now and then, but the game easily managed to stay fun for us through the 10h runtime. I do think I’d have rated it even higher with an even more crisp runtime. Just remember one thing, do not skip on the bonus levels. They’re the best content and the most memorable bits of the game for us. |

Bubble Bobble 4 Friends: The Baron’s Workshop

Bubble Bobble 4 Friends: The Baron’s Workshop

Game is awesome,

at first it seems to be too easy, but the focus here lies clearly on score-hunting, there are enough incentives to reward the player properly for high scores. Is the score high enoug you become rated with stars, depending on the rating you unlock achievments, music and editor parts.

This also means that playing the game just normally, won’t satisfy the urge for challenge, that’s important to notice, if you die merely your score resets and the progress in the current room, which isn’t much. If you die three times in a row on the same room you can make yourself invincible, which is a bit too much in my opinion, but at the same time, it’s just there for completing the short main campaign, after you’ve been through it, there is a much harder campaign which is hard enough that it might be even interesting to play if you not play for scores, in these levels the invincibility option is turned off. It took me some time and was pretty hard, but earning thhree stars in the hard versions is highly satisfying.

I’d like to applaud Taito for standing behind their product and fixing the major bugs the game had that originally prevented me from recommending this title… but it’s still not perfect for the current price point. While it no longer has any game breaking issues, the main Story levels still lack the visual charm of the original Bubble Bobble (which thankfully works great now and is also included via the “Arcade of Memories”) in regards to enemy designs and block skins; proving that new doesn’t always equal better.
