D-Corp

D-Corp

When we were offered this key, we honestly didn’t know what to expect–we’d beaten the heck out of Overcooked and Dungeon Defenders before, and this seemed similar, but we were skeptical.

Welp, WE WERE WRONG.

This game hooked us quick and DIDN’T LET GO–it’s sci-fi a cousin of Overcooked with an emphasis on harvesting and defending, and couples will especially love this one and will probably find it a lot less frustrating than others in the genre. There’s some room for this to grow up, but it’s got more polish than existing games in the genre that have been actively refined for years. Check out the WeHeartCo-op review on YouTube, coming soon!

TLDR: fun game, but if you are unsure check out the DEMO :)

D-corp is a really nice coop tower defense game and it would probably be even better if I had friends to play it with.

While it seems meant to be played locally from your couch with a group of friends it does also support steam remote play and is pretty good to play solo as well (what I mostly did).

Some Pros:

  • Throwing things into pits or acid (including your now ex-friends).

  • Different themed levels, enemies, guns (towers) and elements to make each level feel unique.

I was sponsored to play this for a few hours with a friend, we really enjoyed it and will likely stream it some more. It’s got a clever co-op mechanic and the map design was fun and the soundtrack was also great, though sadly I couldn’t even find it on YouTube. We had a few issues with remote play but it did work and presumably that isn’t an issue on Switch either. Good fun :)

My Review: https://youtu.be/-Ueu03A11gY

I’m already a big fan of 3D Platformers, but one that adds in a twin stick shooting mechanic is not only unique but proves to be a ton of fun! As of writing this, I’m less than halfway through the game, but as a big fan of the genre, this one is doing a lot of things I like already.

There’s beautiful and vibrant graphics, fun boss battles, interesting platforming challenges and of course, a little bit of bullet hell shooting thrown in to mix it all up. The switching mechanic (switching between the 2 main characters) is very interesting as well. While this has been done before, the developer has gone out of their way to implement it so that it pulls double duty being able to break glass, shields and other assorted things.

Bought this game tonight and immediately played though it. My friend and I are huge fans of the “We were here” games and have struggled to find similar ones after playing though the first two. We tried “Tic Tok” and a few coop platformer but nothing could really match up to “We were here”. Until now at least.

“Mark & Lara” is an amazing coop game. You don’t need the internet, just the game and you are set for about 2,5 hours of fun. That’s about how much time it took us to play though it once and we will again soon in order to experience the story out of both character’s perspectives. So for 4 bucks you have ~5 hours of playtime, which is solid imo. The story itself is amazing and really pulled us in. It really feels like investigating and we really enjoyed it. The game consists of talking to one of the two suspects, “official” documents and documentations of conversations. You have to really concentrate and look for the details and compare what the two suspects say in order to find the solution. Teamwork is necessary. The story was surprising in quite a few points and it was refreshing to not have a standart “why I killed him” plot but something more complex. We developed a good amount of theories of what could have happened and none of them turned out to be the correct one in the end.

Asterix & Obelix XXL 3 - The Crystal Menhir

Asterix & Obelix XXL 3 - The Crystal Menhir

It’s a very good and fun game for coop for two kids or a parent and a kid. Even though the coop experience is diminished by poorly thought way of handling camera when the two heroes are far apart .

So:

    • great graphics,
    • great sound ,
    • great level design , alternating between quests, puzzles , fights
    • good dialogues ,
    • good story,
    • dogmatix is adorable and fierce!! ,
    • fun fights with many options
    • Fakeusnewus , Econimicrasious and other funny characters

I have been a huge fan of Asterix since my childhood. Played XXL 1 many many times and 2 sporadically and loved them very much.

This game is a disgrace to Asterix (XXL). The developers didn’t attempt to make a 3D game like the other two games have been and made some random “mobile top down” game for the quick cash grab. The menu interface is even ripped off straight out of the XXL 2 remaster. No effort put into it in any way.

The game looks nice, going for the collectibles is very fun and bringing back a specific Roman from the very first Asterix comic (and animated movie) is a great touch. I think that is about all covering the positives of this game.

To Be Headed Or Not To Be

To Be Headed Or Not To Be

Despite the glitchy moments, game was very enjoyable! Played it with my boyfriend first, and as he didn’t quite like the mechanic I asked my friend!

we didn’t get the appeal of beheaded characters until it’s being used in a puzzle, which is honestly briljant!

Some puzzle are VERY HARD. especially towards the end but enjoyable!

We played it in 3 nights, of approximately an hour each time. Sometimes our save would send us back quite a bit before we could resume. which was annoying but by then we did the puzzles before and could easily get through them to continue where we left of.

At first glance, I thought this was going to be another puzzle game, which I am all for puzzle games, BUT this is something MORE! I laughed, I wanted to cry, I wanted to jump up and down and cheer, I wanted to jump up and down and scream. I brought my friend along for the ride, she loves puzzle games as well, and OMG. This is more than co-op puzzle solving, this is a 1000% dependent on communication and dependence on your partner(s). I thought it would be easy and possibly a pain to have to communicate with someone else, but I laughed so hard! The puzzles are definitely challenging, there is the option to ask for hints and even solutions of hints, which is a comforting bonus. I started playing with a 3 hour window set in mind and almost 6 hours later had to stop to cook dinner.

Bake ‘n Switch

Bake ‘n Switch

There’s lots of love and effort put into this game. The breads are super adorable! While you can play the game with 2 players, it definitely gets more fun if you’ve got a full party. There are a couple of levels that could be balanced a little better. In some you can get away with camp stacking the spawners which can get quite mundane. But you’ll realize there’s a wide range of difficulty once you play the stormy levels or try to complete each level with 3 coins. The highlights for me are the boss levels. My hands got real sweaty taking them on.

Real player with 79.2 hrs in game

This game is deceptively difficult. How can so cute be so challenging?

The gameplay feels like a high bread (ha ha!) between Moving Out and Overcooked. Finishing levels is doable first try, getting 3 stars is a lot harder on many of the levels. Storm levels - geez, those are tough!

One thing I would love to see is adjusted star level scores for additional players (3-player should have a higher score needed for 3-star than 2-player).

Overall, an adorable game with challenging gameplay that feels like it will take quite a while to actually complete. Here’s hoping there are 4-star levels when we get there.

Projekt Z

Projekt Z

What is Projekt Z?

Projekt Z is a free-to-play first-person shooter set in a WW2 Zombie scenario on a secret German island. The game focuses around the “Projekt Z”, a project run by the Nazis to turn Zombies, which have been discovered on the island earlier, into weapons to turn the war around in Nazi Germany’s favor. On the Island, you will discover various secret Nazi projects related and unrelated to “Projekt Z”.

Projekt Z Core Gamemode

You have the HUB, you can craft weapons, ammo, and other consumables here. You will also be able to build things inside the hub (similar to Fallout 4’s settlement building). From the hub, you start missions. Missions belong to a story arch and can influence each other, depending on the order in which you do them. An example: a mission where you clear the island’s sewer system will lead to different zombie types appearing in other missions that otherwise were trapped in the sewer system.

Story arcs have a beginning and an end and shall not be stretched indefinitely. After all, the best stories are those that were planned with a definitive end in mind.

During missions, you can find items, building materials (for the hub) and recruit personal for your hub.

Missions can be repeated for gathering more materials/loot.

Projekt Z Wave Survival Mode

The Wave Survival mode has nothing to do with the game’s core mode. In this mode, you have to fight for your life, kill endless waves of zombies and upgrade your weapons on your workbench.

Level up your character in every round with drugs like heroin, alcohol, or cocaine!

We Were Here

We Were Here

For a free game this is absolutely fantastic. Let me explain.

I am a huge fan of games that there are not enough of. we have FPS games, platformers, BEU’s coming out our ears. We Were Here offers a respire from that and gives every room escape ethusiast a game that is pretty awesome.

PROS

  • Co Op Gameplay. Not only that but puzzle solving Co Op gameplay. There is a drought regarding this genre.

  • Well designed puzzles. None felt cheap or left me scratching my head.

  • Good graphics and well presented.

You can play 39 Days to Mars also as a Single Player alone, don’t make the mistake to not play this game only because you read the co-op description, this game is totally worth it played as single player and is for me an unforgettable, unique and wonderful gaming experience also if im a sp gamer.

The gameplay is very fun you can use the controller thumbstick same if they is your left and right arms ( so for move the 2 cursors for reach objects to interact ) then you can use the the left and right triggers same if they is your left and right hand and by pushing the triggers you will close your hand for grab or use objects.

39 Days To Mars is a sweet, cute and adorable little gem, that will melt your heart with its kindness. Being an extremely short indie game, designed to play on couch with your best friend or a girlfriend, it still manages to deliver you a lot of emotions and gives you an ability to forget about this cruel world and plunge into the atmosphere of this beautiful game.

Amoeba Battle: Microscopic RTS Action

Amoeba Battle: Microscopic RTS Action

Personal review

Much better than the DS version. I love the bouncing mission visuals. There’s finally a choice of difficulty for the campaign, but some of the missions seem nearly impossible on brutal. As far as I can tell, the only difference between difficulties is the AI damage is insanely boosted. And my locust gets easily 2-shot by sharks. I’m not a fan of battle royals, but this was better than I thought it would be. Interesting upgrades that you don’t see in the campaign, but still improves the battle royal. Over 50 different tastefully colored amoebas. Overall, better improvement from the DS version. I hope more content will be added in the future.

The funniest RTS I’ve seen in my life.

It’s a pure joy to see and control this cute little amoebas. Clearly, developers put all of their heart into this beautiful game. In my opinion, this is a wonderful example of a polished game. Game mechanics are well-thought and balanced. It has a lot of strategical depth. It becomes the most clear when trying to beat the campaign on the last difficulty =D

Sadly, the game didn’t get the attention it deserves, so right now playerbase is pretty low. But It took me about 30 hours to beat the campaign on the last difficulty (which is great by the way) and get all the achievements (they are great too), and I haven’t event touched skirmish mode and Outbreak vs AI, so there is really a lot to do here even without multiplayer.
