KeyWe

KeyWe

Amazing game. Fun to play with your significant other or a close friend. Requires just the right amount of teamwork where you need to do a level a couple times or more to complete it if you’re going for all the achievements. Overcooked vibes, controller recommended.

This game however, gets a down vote from me due to the TERRIBLE, COMMON, AND MAJOR GLITCHES in this game that completely ruin the experience. Boxes sometimes will not move when you run into them, ruining your time on a level. Boxes sometimes cannot be pulled when you try to pull them multiple times, ruining your time on a level. Dashing will glitch out and make it so you cannot dash anymore for the remainder of the level unless you butt-drop - doing exactly the same thing when you try to dash again, ruining your time on a level. Mail sometimes being thrown into mail slots make it in the mail slots but don’t count towards score, ruining your score on a level. Buckling up the mail while it’s being fed sometimes glitches out completely and makes it so you can’t feed the animal or finish bucking up the mail - making it so you cannot complete the level at all.

KeyWe is so good i really recommend anyone that likes interesting and thoughtful co-op experiences to give this a try, it’s a truly unique experience. Even though it stands on its own if i had to compare KeyWe to anything I would say the closest gameplay loop is that of Overcooked where you’re trying to complete a common objective and need to work together in order to achieve it. various things need to be done in order to reach that goal and you’ll have to decide quickly who is doing what tasks. If you work well with the person you’re playing with this obviously makes things a lot easier to manage.

Well, as a self-professed TD game addict, with lots of games to compare it to, this game stands out as one of the best overall Tower Defense games I’ve played. It’s a hidden gem that offers tons of varied action, ops for challenge (lots of replay ability), appealing story line, immersion and just plain fun. And, unlike many TD games I’ve played, even after the learning curve I have not felt bored with any level because they are all so varied and different.

The graphics are truly outstanding with a wide variety of enemies, weapons and maps (albeit IMO per the Early Access version, there needs to be some tweaking on gamma (adjusting within the game graphics, ie. shadow, worked great for me). The only other criticism (and this is being very picky) would maybe if they tweaked the zooming and angle controls for better visibility (I wanted to really check out some of those strange and awesome enemies)

Geometric Feel the Beats

Geometric Feel the Beats

Loved the game! Remembers me of Space Invaders, but at the same time its quite different (in a great way). I’ve been playing for hours, the music is great and the game has a good pacing. Hope the developers make some sort of player for the musics within the game, it would be awesome. I certainly recommend this game!

Have you ever wondered what would be the mashup of Space Invaders with Tron’s neon lights and some well chosen music to spice it?

That would be Geometric Feel the Beats!

And knowing that the game hasn’t a game over is a relief! Because you can just relax destroying the amount of geometric figures that appears on the screen, with a mix of trying to maintain the score multiplier and raise your ranking! =]

Oh! That’s not all!

The released coop mode is a lot of fun! I enjoyed tracing an strategy with a friend to try to maximize our score! xD

Embr

Embr

Among a glut of physics-based multiplayer games, Embr sticks out as a bright spot.

I 100% recommend this game to anyone looking for a good multiplayer experience. It’s in Early Access, but for myself, the majority of the bugs I’ve experienced are just graphics. More on this later. I want to highlight what I believe is absolutely the most important thing Embr has done for this genre.

Overcooked. Overcooked 2. Moving Out. These are three games in the genre I call “physics-based co-ops”. The fun is drawn from playing with friends in a chaotic environment where physics are a little goofy. But that’s the thing. They’re multiplayer. And so is Embr…or is it? That’s what Embr does. This game is 100% soloable. While I don’t know the reason behind this design decision, in the settings, you can change the speed of the fire spread. It starts at a baseline of 1.0. You can increase it a little for more challenge, or lower it to make it spread slower, thus making the game a lot easier to play on your own. And that’s what I love, not having to play with someone else, instead being able to enjoy the experience alone.

This game is the most interesting and entertaining game I’ve played in a while. The concept is unique, and the gameplay is surprisingly good. Controls are fairly self explanatory as well. Graphics are superb, with the world being very aesthetically pleasing and the lighting engine being more than adequate. I’m not certain how well I like the character design, but I could see it growing on me. They aren’t bad by any means, just a little… bulbous. That being said, I’m not really sure what I would do to change the game other than that. If you have a dedicated graphics card (other than mobile variants, which are generally highly underpowered) you can more than likely run the game extremely well. With a 2nd gen I5, 8 gigs of old ram, and a nvidia 460 one can obtain very high framerates with no lag on max settings. The game seems fairly well optimized for such a new title and for one still being in early access. Overall I highly recommend the game. I have greatly enjoyed playing it and will likely play even more often when I finally wrap up the semester.

I had a lot of fun with this one. You could feel the inspiration of classic 2D sidescrollers of the past like MegaMan and Metal Slug in the over all game feel and design. I enjoyed the art style of the game, but could see how it might be a turn off for other gamers. If you’re an achievement chaser, there is a bit of replayability in this one. Otherwise, it’s pretty straightforward in regard to play through time; a few hours of your time will clear the game.

A Year Of Rain

A Year Of Rain

As a Warcraft/Starcraft and Command & Conquer Kid, I was positively surprised to hear there’s someone taking a stab at a new RTS.

It’s heartwarmingly reminiscent of those games. Yeah, let me go grab my fucking Pulitzer, I bet there is a category for stating the obvious. Of course most RTS games are akin to the merciless RTS Emperor sitting on the throne made out of the bones of anyone who dares step into their domain.

Reading it was Daedalic running straight into that chainsaw, I was prepared for another mixed bag.

A Year of Rain

A new, unique RTS that had potential, but due to lack of publisher faith, was crippled at launch and abandoned soon after

So… This game is pretty good. It’s pretty much like a Warcraft 3 spiritual successor. Better than WC3 Reforged in a lot of ways.

As much as I want to love this game however I can’t pretend I’m not disappointed. The game was released unfinished, and abandoned very quickly. I don’t think Daedalic had any faith in it, they released it before it was ready and didn’t even give it a chance to build momentum and customer faith. They were hoping for a big launch with their unfinished early access game, didn’t get it, and abandoned the game rather than wait. As a game dev I understand the circumstance, but you can’t expect an EA title to sell like a finished one. It does come with a beefy campaign, that can be played solo or coop. It has full on voice acting, in game cutscenes, etc. Plus skirmish mode, and of course Online mode. So the content is there, it was mostly finished even, but as expected needed work, which is the whole point of early access. Pathfinding can be pretty bad sometimes, which REALLY hurts the play experience in an RTS. Other than that however the game-play is pretty polished and AYOR really gives WC3 reforged a run for it’s money IMO. I do hate the Coop AI, because I prefer to play solo and I have always hated Coop RTS campaigns with AI allies (like Red Alert 3) but still the game has SO MUCH potential it makes me depressed. I’m just disappointed that Daedalic seemingly launched this game to try and make back as much of their money as possible without ever really planning to support it, they basically lied about it, but in an underhanded way so they could shrug off blame.

Saints Row 2

Saints Row 2

This is still a great game even when put up current gen stuff. I love it because the voice acting is excellent and it captures the feel of classic GTA3 oh so well. Even though this port has a problem with periodic “random” crashes, it’s still worth playing. Also, you really, really should bother to install the Gentlemen of the Row mod; it is worth the trouble for the quality of life adjustments alone.

I wanted to play this because I loved Saints Row 3 & 4 and Gat out of Hell. I knew it would be different, and more like GTA than the others but I wanted to try it anyway. I’m glad I did. It’s now my second favorite in the series after #4. I am looking forward to playing it again when the “MEGA Patch” is eventually released.

Saints Row 2, man where do i start.. Its a really good game but id recommend something since this thing doesn’t have achievements: cheats, use them all the time and i recommend installing Gentlemen of the row to put modification of the game called ,,Ultor Rising'' where, you are the law and try to stop all the gangs, if your looking for something extra in the ultor rising mod, the nuclear power plant is the place of fun.

But yes Honest review of the base game without mods is a 9/10 for me.

Only issue was frame drops nothing else so yeah very good game.

Final Foe

Final Foe

Final Foe is an isometric fantasy arena that challenges you to slay waves of monsters in a mysterious dungeon. Single player and co-op modes. Modifiers and boss rounds. Survive and fight to the end, until the last enemy is killed!

Main Features

  • Atmospheric medieval location.

The old cursed dungeon with several gates awaits you, from which numerous enemies arrive. You can also find dangerous traps that will come in handy to eliminate enemies

  • Non-target combat system.

This system works for both players and enemies. This means that any enemy attack can be dodged.

You need to destroy enemies round after round, including a short tutorial and several boss battles. As you progress, the difficulty increases. And at the end you will find the most powerful enemy - the final boss.

This mode is one endless battle, during which more and more strong enemies appear. The goal is to score as many points as possible for killing enemies. Especially sophisticated players can choose the Ultra-difficulty level. This will allow you to get 3 times more points, but will require dodging any damage, since the character will only have 1 health point.

  • Various enemies.

Endless living dead, terrible knights, insidious magicians and many others, about whom you can find out when you meet. Different enemies have different characteristics. Some are weak and slow, some attack from a distance, and some can get so angry that it will be impossible to stop them…

  • Bosses.

As you progress through the Campaign mode, you will encounter several bosses. Fighting some of them will require special skill from you.

  • Skill tree.

The development of your character will take place by learning skills in the skill tree. At the moment, there are 3 intermediate and 4 advanced character classes available. Each of the advanced classes has unique active and passive abilities.

  • Cooperative multiplayer.

It is much more fun to destroy crowds of enemies together with your friends. This feature allows you to play in a team of up to 4 people.

Abracadabrew

Abracadabrew

This game is really fun with friends. It’s similar to other games of this genre, but with the added thing that you have to memorize where the ingredients are, so more confusion and more chaos! And there’s a good challenge to get all 3 stars. I wasn’t sure at first, but after few hours played, it’s really good.

Real player with 13.2 hrs in game

Abracadabrew is a very fun little game !

The point is very simple : you have to find ingredients to brew a series of potions in a very messy room. Quite simple in its core, but, as the amount of potions, ingredients and rules increase, you and your friends must find a strategy to be as efficient as possible.

For me, Abracadabrew is much more a game about communication than memory. Finding a way to communicate efficiently with your partner goes a long way into completing the last levels.

As you understand, I think it’s a game better experienced with friends or SO.
