Shadowbane
First of all, this game is absolutely worth playing if you are into oldschool PvP MMOs. No other game allows such in-depth character customization. Sandbox elements are present but are not annoying to the end of being “chop trees to gather lumber”. “Sandbox” here is actually building cities and demolishing your enemies' cities in sieges, hiring AI mercenaries to craft items which is another good part of this game, crafting isn’t about gathering 10 dragon scales and 1 mummy dust by repetitively killing monsters, it’s more about having mercenaries of right races placed in your forges and having resources from right zones in general, even city building (if you happen to own / manage one) is as simple as placing the building on the city grid and waiting several hours for it to go up in one click.

Overall an exceptionally poor experience.
So why do I have so many hours you ask? 1) nostalgia and 2) I played with friends, but neither of those points are positives to the game in particular. And also do not be mistaken, for an RPG 80% of this playtime was sitting afk while leeching experience from macro-bots which is what everyone uses.
So this game is mislabeled as a PVP title. It isn’t. It’s actually a zerg v zerg title and those battles are decided by sheer numbers. If it was a pvp game, you’d have skills which synergize with each other to allow for good and creative builds. Builds which later you can learn to play and get better as you get more accustomed to playing your toon. Not the case here. At first glance you have SO many races, professions and disciplines to combine that the options eem endless…until you realize that every profession has no more than 2 ways to build it if you want to be in any way viable. Yes, you CAN be a minotaur that uses unarmed fighting, except due to weapon skill restrictions (built into the races) and stat caps you’ll never be more than 20% of the strength of a proper polearm minotaur.

Gryphon Knight Epic: Definitive Edition
Gryphon Knight Epic: Definitive Edition:
After having defeated the enormous dragon that destroyed the all the crops and the army of the kingdom of Valiantskies, and of course, having saved the Princess, the leader of a group of eight heroes, Sir Oliver, fell deeply in love with the Princess as they stared into each other’s eyes for the first time. In the meantime, the other party members were already at the defeated Dragon’s Lair, taking possession of his gold, and most importantly, of seven powerful magic weapons! By the time Sir Oliver arrived at the Lair, there was plenty of gold for him to scoop away, along with an amulet, but no more special weapons. Years have passed, and Sir Oliver is now married to the Princess and has a child, but life is now kind of boring, his only outing being with his amazing Gryphon Aquila to gather food for supper. Until one day . . . he comes face to face with his own spectre, which is his total opposite and swears to destroy him, all thanks the Amulet he found years prior in the Dragon’s Lair.

Classic arcade shoot 'em up (shmup) with polished pixel graphics, metroidvania-lite depth, upgrade systems, and a clear megaman influence; rock paper scissors style weapon acquisition between bosses – minus the punishing difficulty.
It's a breath of fresh air in an otherwise saturated roguewhatever/massive metroidvania market. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy a lot of roguelite/likes and love metroidvanias, but sometimes you just want a burger, not a six course meal. The game is still challenging; you'll probably die at least a few times even if you're a bullet-hell junky (which this game also is not).

![Sword Mans](https://cdn.cloudflare.steamstatic.com/steam/apps/815840/header.jpg "")
## Sword Mans
My hope was that this game could fill the hole in my heart left by Gang Beasts and it's successively worsening updates, and I was not dissapointed. Sword Mans is a silly and lightearted fighting game in which you play a sword whose wielder drags like a ragdoll behind you. This leads to an unusual combat in which you are trying to swipe at your opponents whilst protecting the wielder that limply follows you. My girlfiiend and I laughed uproariously on more than a few occassions.
Four player multiplayer is where this game really shines. The controller support is also nice. A surprisingly diverse weapon selection also introduces an interesting element of strategy. The large selection of stages helps to keep multiplayer fresh as well. I liked the inclusion of both cooperative and competetive game modes, as well as the ability to include bots in versus mode to keep things hectic, The physics are hilarious and the stages are fun to smash apart and varied. You can tell that an indie dev put a lot of love into this game, and the developer has promised periodic content updates which is exciting. All things considered I enjoyed this purchase, and feel as if I got exactly what I wanted. An easy to pick up local multiplayer game that's funny and great with friends.

Final Foe is an isometric fantasy arena that challenges you to slay waves of monsters in a mysterious dungeon. Single player and co-op modes. Modifiers and boss rounds. Survive and fight to the end, until the last enemy is killed!

#### **Main Features**
* _Atmospheric medieval location._
The old cursed dungeon with several gates awaits you, from which numerous enemies arrive. You can also find dangerous traps that will come in handy to eliminate enemies
* _Non-target combat system._
This system works for both players and enemies. This means that any enemy attack can be dodged.
* _Campaign mode._
You need to destroy enemies round after round, including a short tutorial and several boss battles. As you progress, the difficulty increases. And at the end you will find the most powerful enemy - the final boss.
* _Survival mode._
This mode is one endless battle, during which more and more strong enemies appear. The goal is to score as many points as possible for killing enemies. Especially sophisticated players can choose the Ultra-difficulty level. This will allow you to get 3 times more points, but will require dodging any damage, since the character will only have 1 health point.
* _Various enemies._
Endless living dead, terrible knights, insidious magicians and many others, about whom you can find out when you meet. Different enemies have different characteristics. Some are weak and slow, some attack from a distance, and some can get so angry that it will be impossible to stop them…
* _Bosses._
As you progress through the Campaign mode, you will encounter several bosses. Fighting some of them will require special skill from you.
* _Skill tree._
The development of your character will take place by learning skills in the skill tree. At the moment, there are 3 intermediate and 4 advanced character classes available. Each of the advanced classes has unique active and passive abilities.
* _Cooperative multiplayer._
It is much more fun to destroy crowds of enemies together with your friends. This feature allows you to play in a team of up to 4 people.

## A Journey Through Valhalla
This is a fun game even if you are playing solo. Playing solo is rough because the game was meant for 3 people to co-op. There are some game mechanics I think it needs such as a way to swap out weapons sets during combat and maybe an easier way to loot items. I would also like to see more way to gain experience than just feats. Maybe making skills level as you use them would be a way to go. But, I still enjoyed playing the game, and would recommend it.

I think this game is pretty decent (especially for it being created by 3 people in their spare time) and shows a lot of promise. I'd recommend playing the game with at least one other person as it can be pretty hard solo, but it still provides a pretty enjoyable experience when playing by yourself.
I think this game could benefit from some balancing changes (namely the first boss and the chances of getting better gear, especially for the wizard class) and more content. besides that, this is a pretty cool game.

![9th Dawn III](https://cdn.cloudflare.steamstatic.com/steam/apps/1154850/header.jpg "")
## 9th Dawn III
9th Dawn III is a great hack-and-slash dungeon crawler/RPG with a lot of content. The game has a semi-open world concept with limited access to areas related to the main story. There is a predefined path to progress in the game, but the number of optional dungeons gives a lot of freedom. I enjoyed the storyline, even if it is a clichéd "save the world from evil" scenario.
You can definitely tell that the developers put a lot of attention to detail in this game. There is a huge amount of items, skills, monsters and general things you can do in the game. You can go fishing and make a meal out of your catch, or you can go mining and forge a new weapon etc.
*– [Real player with 183.8 hrs in game](http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198022854959)*
9th Dawn III is a 2D pixel take on a huge open world filled with smithing, jewelcrafting, alchemy, cooking, taming monsters, a card game along with the usual dungeon crawling and loot that are familiar for everyone. The animation and art for this game are it's weakest points, which as an artist I hate saying. On the plus side, everything else is so damned good that you will get past the look of it pretty damned quickly. It is singularly my only "complaint" about this game, and even there the dark dreary textures that seem to blend into each other are vastly outweighed by amazingly implemented gameplay mechanics, a fun little story that doesn't take itself too seriously, and a plethora of crafting minigames and card minigames that will keep you entertained for hours.

## Merek's Market
To be honest, I thought the graphics would have made this game unplayable, however, I pleasantly surprised with this game.
If you have played Overcooked or Witchtastic, this is certainly a fun game to try out.
pick-up, throw, crafting, smelting, and mini-games are some of their features.
I was surprised to see that the Campaign game and the multiplayer game are actually set-up quite differently and to fully beat the game you would have to play both.
A nice game to play with my wife.
*– [Real player with 41.1 hrs in game](http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561197993555482)*
I picked up this game because my wife and I are big fans of Overcooked style games, and this one seemed right up our alley. We played through the coop content first, and there was plenty of challenge to be had. It was hard for her at times, as you are expected to remember what ingredients make what items. For me, however, this was part of the fun. Some of the later content is pretty difficult, especially if you are trying to get a gold score, but the game was solid and enjoyable.
I want to talk about one other aspect, however, that most games of this type don't really have, a solo campaign. In most cases, you are expected to control two characters and make items, but Merek's Market is different. Solo play has it's own set of challenges, and there are some nuances that would have helped coop play as well. The haggle elements were really nice and added both a break and flavor to the rest of the experience. In some ways, solo feels a bit more casual. There is still some challenge, but once you have the rhythm of it, you can typically get all the items made you need.
