My Father My Son

My Father My Son

Only cooperation can save them

Together with two lost castaways, a father, and son, experience a thrilling journey through a dark, uninhabited island that isn’t on the map. Overcome a path full of logic puzzles and hidden dangers and help the family get closer to each other. Escape from this mysterious place and discover together with the characters what’s hidden here.

Control two characters alone or in co-op (1 player - 1 character), using either a pad or the keyboard. You can change the control method at any time. Move along 2 paths, changing them freely as needed. Take wise advantage of the differences between the father (strong and high) and the son (small and agile), which will make it easier for the characters to work together on co-op puzzles.

MAIN FEATURES OF THE GAME:

  • Play alone, controlling two characters or in co-op (local on one screen or online)

  • Choose any method to control both characters: using pads or the keyboard

  • Solve environmental puzzles based on the co-operation of two characters with different abilities: a father and son

  • Fight for survival in thrilling arcade sequences

  • Two characters and two tracks that you can change at any time

  • Low-poly 2.5D side view game

  • An engaging story about a father’s relationship with his son in a thriller atmosphere

Oh No! Bugs!

Oh No! Bugs!

This game looks pretty, but it’s not always what it seems. It’s fun for the first few minutes but then that’s it, you’re doing the same thing over and over again with no difference but a few characters here and there. It has potential but it also needs much more content to feel fulfilling, anyways, in it’s current state, I do not recomment.

5/10

A Co-Op Arcade Game

https://youtu.be/ndp2NbBz3EY

  • The gameplay is enjoyable. You mainly go around pushing blocks at bugs trying to squash them. You have to be careful though because blocks will bounce back at you if you miss, and you must avoid getting hit by the bugs.

  • Relaxing background music

  • Local and Online co-op

  • I felt the game as a whole was a bit too basic / lacking in content. After about 10minutes the game started to feel repetitive.

  • After you complete each level you get some coins and experience, which you can use to purchase cosmetic items for your character. Unfortunetely, I just didn’t feel like these were rewarding or worth while to work up to.

The Last Archwing

The Last Archwing

The last Archwing reminded me of the traditional plane/helicopter shooting games I used to play in the pizza parlor as a kid. The more up to date graphics and controls were nice and enjoyed the variety of funny characters. My 5 year old son was able to beat the game on casual and enjoyed the humor as well.

The Last Archwing nails game balance. It’s frustrating enough to keep you interested, but not in a way that’s discouraging. The variety of enemies is just right. The pacing is on par with the best of 2D side scrolling and vertical scrolling games. It’s nostalgic in a way that brings back the classic game feel, but because of the story, music, graphics (specifically lighting) and voice acting, the game is firmly placed into the modern era of games. A shout out to the barrel roll game mechanic for being easy to use but hard to master. Smashing multiple enemies with one roll is immensely satisfying. Deciding between using barrel roll and Death Wave adds a layer of depth that is compelling. The music choice for the different levels and opening sequence is superb. I’m pleasantly surprised by how much I am enjoying this game.

I was sponsored to play this for a few hours with a friend, we really enjoyed it and will likely stream it some more. It’s got a clever co-op mechanic and the map design was fun and the soundtrack was also great, though sadly I couldn’t even find it on YouTube. We had a few issues with remote play but it did work and presumably that isn’t an issue on Switch either. Good fun :)

My Review: https://youtu.be/-Ueu03A11gY

I’m already a big fan of 3D Platformers, but one that adds in a twin stick shooting mechanic is not only unique but proves to be a ton of fun! As of writing this, I’m less than halfway through the game, but as a big fan of the genre, this one is doing a lot of things I like already.

There’s beautiful and vibrant graphics, fun boss battles, interesting platforming challenges and of course, a little bit of bullet hell shooting thrown in to mix it all up. The switching mechanic (switching between the 2 main characters) is very interesting as well. While this has been done before, the developer has gone out of their way to implement it so that it pulls double duty being able to break glass, shields and other assorted things.

5 Minutes Rage - Hatred Edition

Violence. Speed. Momentum.

I hope DrDisRespect will play it on his stream, cause this game is DOPE! It has a small community right now, but its okay, cause I strongly believe it would be much bigger next. Keep it up!

  • Kinda fun to play

  • Local multiplayer and option to play against bots

  • Multiplayer game that doesn’t have any players SINCE launch

  • Online only achievements in dead game

I liked the tutorial and one match I played against bot, but I bet it could be even more fun if only there were any people playing 5 Minutes Rage - Hatred Edition. Since there aren’t any, and most of people are launching it only to get Steam Trading Cards, I cannot recommend it to anyone. Sure, it’s cheap while on sale with 90% discount, but are you sure you want to pay for a game to play with bots? It’s a different case if you have some friends to play together, but otherwise - forget about this game.

Aces of the Luftwaffe - Squadron

Aces of the Luftwaffe - Squadron

Not z good Shmup.

  • Long loading times

  • The action is hindered by text overlay at times

  • The zoom in zoom out effect adds nothing to gameplay but interfere with the action

  • The whole squadron thing is more a nuisance than anything else4

  • Grindy, you’ll eventually get all upgrade

The first AotL was better as a simple SHMUP, this one is boring

Very fun game. My only complaint is that sometimes with all of the firepower from you and your squadron as well as boss fire, it can be a bit hard to see where you are sometimes. Overall, the challenge is fair in most cases, the voice acting is entertaining and I appreciate how the story looks at both sides of the conflict with the DLC added. I hope to see more in this series!

Green Dragon/グリーンドラゴン

Green Dragon/グリーンドラゴン

Green Dragon is a side scrolling beat em up featuring 16-Bit Retro graphics and a banging techno sound track.

If you like games similar to streets of rage, final fight and of course Double Dragon you will appreciate this game.

The game is still in early development and its literally only half a level long and prone to bugs like enemies walking up a building, towards the sky out of the player boundary, and also prone to random restarts, but its already showing some awesomeness.

I especially cheered when the game paid a little Amiga homage on boot up, nice touch DEV :)

Good things:

The game is working or at least the first part of the first level that was made so far. The sound and music is also working. Character sprites for one of 2 characters are also working and sprites of one enemy that we meet are also working. There is also 1 weapon you can pick up, 1 food item and 2 items giving points. You can walk and hit with fist or jump or even jump and kick! Pixelated graphic is nice and good looking. The good thing is that you can finish the game and get all 5 achievements right now in under 15 minutes.

Shift Happens

Shift Happens

People will inevitably compare this game to Shiftlings - maybe even call one of them a knockoff. Despite both games having some identical game mechanics, they are very different games. It’s similar to Halo versus Doom. Both are FPS games where a green marine blasts through unnatural creatures, but the gameplay is not the same. Having played around 5 hours both shifty games, I’m making a short comparison.

Shiftlings:

  • Shiftlings singleplayer/co-op is both the same game, in singleplayer you just switch between characters

| Factor | Rating | Description |

| Gameplay Loop | 7 | This game is basically no-nonesense fun platforming. It knows what it wants to be and sticks to that. Getting past levels is pretty easy, but every level has these orbs, a secret area, and one bonus thingy to collect - which makes for a fun enough experience. There’s 4 worlds, and we found the 2nd one to be the most fun in terms of the quality of each and every level. Some of the later levels can start repeating the same ideas every now and then, but the game easily managed to stay fun for us through the 10h runtime. I do think I’d have rated it even higher with an even more crisp runtime. Just remember one thing, do not skip on the bonus levels. They’re the best content and the most memorable bits of the game for us. |

Play with friends! Strings Theory supports up to 3-player local co-op. Enjoy a mode where every player controls a different string in front of a single screen. There’s a twist: only one string can move at any given time, so you have to talk about your strategy and solve the puzzles together!

Deatomizers that can evaporate you in an instant. Trapdoors to the void of space. Gravitiles that change gravity. The ever-moving Kinetiles, and more.

Trine 4: The Nightmare Prince

Trine 4: The Nightmare Prince

Playing Trine 4 right after Finishing T1,2 and 3.. The revert and a step back to Trine 2 design rejuvenate my faith for the game.

First of all, the concerning about Trine 4 continuing what they did in Trine 3 is gone. Trine 3 never existed in Trine 4 universe other than the inherrited assets and ideas (which also ruined Trine 4 in a way).

The Devs start a new story in Trine 4 with nothing related to Trine 3. Trine 3 never existed. You don’t get to see the ending of Trine 3, but you also don’t have to worry about getting half a game continued from a previous badly made one. This here is a full game of its own.

achievements

easy 100% - achievements order you to either finish a level or collect all obtainables. plenty of guides, plus it isn’t hard to find them on your own. DLC doesn’t contain any achievements, so you may skip it and still get 100% (unlike in Trine 2)

Trine 2 or Trine 4?

any of them will be good. Trine 4 has better graphics, polished HUD and better UX; Trine 2 has a better puzzle-combat flow. in other words one game nailed the presentation, another got gameplay right - but either of them will be a nice choice. I prefer Trine 2, tho
