Present for Manager is a simulation of a board game similar to Monopoly. It’s easy to learn. The AI is quite good, but I recommend local multiplayer for the true board game experience that tears families apart. ;D

I never played the original, but the style is still quite nostalgic. And who doesn’t like dinosaurs? Old school difficulty, but fortunately it doesn’t cost to feed quarters.

Capcom Beat ‘Em Up Bundle

Capcom Beat ‘Em Up Bundle

i bought this mainly for online coop but overall i enjoyed my experience.

what i liked

-collection of great games.

-2 player online coop plays has no lag, feels smooth like local coop in my opinion.

-drop in/drop out feature lets players connect midgame, you don’t have stay in a lobby doing nothing while waiting for online player to join, you can play the game while waiting and don’t have to restart from level 1 when someone joins.

-options to adjust game difficulty and ### of lives/continues.

Rather than reviewing each of the games in this collection, this will be a brief overview of the bundle itself. I’ve only played few credits as of writing this, but it seems to be sufficient for a general feel of the collection. If my opinion changes I’ll modify this review as needed.

This is a collection of seven arcade beat ‘em ups: Final Fight, Captain Commando, The King of Dragons, Knights of the Round, Warriors of Fate, Armored Warriors, and Battle Circuit. The Japanese and international versions of each game are available. The inclusion of Armored Warriors and Battle Circuit is particularly nice as I believe this is the first official release of those games outside of arcades.

Breakneck City

Breakneck City

One of the reasons I love Steam is I keep finding games I didn’t know I need. I feel that developers loved the Dynamite Deka series and wanted to create a similar game but in a Double Dragon mold. The gameplay handles well with a controller and the boss fights have real character. One sword wielding foe tosses one of his blades in air to free up his hand and spit a fireball across the screen. Small touches like this indicate a love for the genre.

A fantastic throwback to 3D beat ‘em ups, a genre that is woefully undeserved given that we mainly throwbacks to 2D beat ‘ems ups that are inspired by the likes of Final Fight or Streets of Rage rather than games following the Dynamite Deka or Spikeout lineage.

Combat is pretty simple, there’s no Devil May Cry style move list, but the fundamentally solid basic attacks and a great feeling dash combine with top notch level design, clever environmental interactions, dynamic enemy types make for a really fun time.

Revenge on the Streets 2

Revenge on the Streets 2

I played this game because I quite like the first one, here comes the (first?) review:

Character

3 characters, no hidden character or such.

Each has different style of punching combos.

I like the fact that you can spam a flykick-uppercut combo from early stage, but in later stage you can’t because all the enemies start blocking.

Also make me think, how come they can block attacks but I can’t, that could be useful.

Compare to the first one, no unlockable characters, which is a little disappointing.

Sorcerer Knights

Sorcerer Knights

What was once a happy land is today a terrible place where sinister beings camp at ease. However, there is still hope for men, as the Sorcerer Knights have returned from their slumber to restore the peace that was once taken from them.

Sorcerer Knights is an original game for 1 or 2 players, of Beat’em up style and inspired by the style of the games classics from the ’90s, but with an updated aesthetic.

The theme of the game is set in a time fantastic where the mighty Sorcerer Knights, formidable heroes who dominate both the skill of the weapons such as powerful magic, they must face numerous hordes of menacing enemies in order to liberate the kingdom from the tyranny of the fearsome Sorcerer KaliXtus.

  • Fight terrible enemies through a varied fantasy world.

  • Collect magical items and use them to summon terrible powers.

  • Play alone or in company.

  • Sorcerer Kights is a Frenzied action arcade game that keeps you glued to pad.

Reminds me of the 90s big time. I remember seeing the Sega Genesis version and I wanted to try this game out since I heard the Arcade version is superior but I can tell you the hit boxes on the enemies are rough and it can be completed in 30 minutes. Its fun at first but the bosses hit boxes are terrible.
