Sonic 3 & Knuckles

Enter The Echinada
One of the better Sonic games out there, as many would consider perhaps the best (of the retro era). Compared to previous two sonic games on steam this one has much more playability since it has more stages than first two games that can be completed in 3-5h easily, this one has pretty good stage design while maybe not best OST out of the three first sonic games.

According to the official story, Sonic 3 was meant to include the “& Knuckles” content from the beginning, but it was cut due to time constraints. Sonic 3 was pushed out as the “vanilla” package, with the “& Knuckles” expansion pack (lock-on cartridge) coming out eight months later. I personally think the “& Knuckles” content ends up detracting from the core Sonic 3 experience, and would have been fine if it never saw the light of day. “& Knuckles” added the Mushroom Hill zones onwards, this is where the game starts to drag the most and see quality loss in level design in my opinion. If they really needed to have the “& Knuckles” content added to complete the package, it would have been a better experience start-to-finish if they had removed the Sandolopis zone, which is the lowest quality zone of the “& Knuckles” campaign.

Sid Meier’s Civilization® III Complete
Here’s what I think of this game, I’ll compare it to Civ 5 since most people consider that to be the best Civ game.
Music: Both Civ 5 and Civ III have fantastic soundtracks as with pretty much all Civ games. CIV 5’s soundtrack is better, but that doesn’t mean this soundtrack isn’t worth listening to.
Diplomacy: The diplomacy here in Civ III, in my opinion is better. You can trade maps technologies, change how agressive the AI is. The AI does get quite a bit agressive once you get to medium agressiveness although.

I will start this review in two seperate forms, one for interested newcomers and then the Old Guard.
I will list off the pros first before the cons of this game, Civilization 3 is a different twist of the game than you may be familar with 4 and 5. Go in understanding this switch:
-Its an old game, if you can run the actual game, there should be no real issues.
-Graphically, it’s a sound experience and not many real issues, the modding community can find you bug fixes or new skins. Its pleasing regardless and you won’t really be let down by this game.

Tilesweeper
Tilesweeper
…is a logic puzzle game. Remove all the tiles from the level, one by one, flagging and avoiding those armed with a bomb.
⚙ Game Description & Mechanics ⚙
As any clone of Minesweeper, you’re presented with a tile board, here represented by a dungeon, balcony or other location. The objective of the game is to either correctly flag every tile armed with a mine, or clear out all the tiles that aren’t - either will result in a success, just as long as no mine is detonated.

It is hard to be too critical of this as it does what it does well enough. It is a nicer looking version of Minesweeper. I could stop there but I have to point out this is one of those games that 10 hours playing it (which is what it took to get to the easy 39/60 achievements) feels like 100 in a more compulsive game. Most of the remaining achievements are for “grinds” - the worst is to break 1 million tiles. In 10 hours I have broken 25k. Sheesh.
Still, we all loved Minesweeper. This is just….more. And more.

Rock ‘N Roll
Entertaining Game at an Incredible Price
We were fortunate enough to get a preview of this game when it was in the very early Beta stages and was just an emerging concept. This game has really come so far in a short time especially in the past few weeks. We have seen numerous updates and improvements made. ZaxtorGames has been very receptive to questions, problem reports, and suggestions to improve the game feel and experience. In fact, we’ve seen several of them implemented.
This is such a fun game that you can choose to play either with a keyboard and mouse or with a controller depending on your preference. Personally, we love the controller experience because it gives us better maneuverability and control. The movement and game mechanics do take some getting used to, but it really doesn’t take all the long to get your space legs and feel for the controls.

If you loved the classic arcade game Asteroids, you will love Rock ‘N Roll. In Rock ‘N Roll, you take the role of a space pilot trying to save Earth from a horrible asteroid filled doom. This game adds it’s own touch as well as maintaining that classic Asteroids feel. This game offers a fun challenge, as well as giving a rewarding experience.
My playthrough of this game has been very enjoyable. There are power-ups, enemies and a unique endgame system that make this game stand out. This game is very addicting, and offers so much more than the original Asteroids.

Sonic Adventure 2
We all know what you’re here for. Adventure Two is a good game, with an interesting story and good, if not a bit buggy controls. But the Chao Garden is the reason to keep coming back. 9.5/10. Needs more slots for chao.

live and learn mfs
not perfect, lots of things got rough with time, but god isnt it just fun and satisfying. except the treasure hunting in later stages everything else is just plain fun, with sonic and shadow levels being so good making me replay them a lot. music slaps, not only does it fit the environment and level, it fits the current ongoing story events (be it green forest and white jungle as the best examples). the story and characters were crafted with such a care, thats absolutely absent in current sonic games.

Terra Mystica
First of all:
I own the boardgame version of this and also have the mobile app.
Sadly I can not recommend Terra Mystica on Steam right now for several reasons:
1. It is just a bad mobile app port. Let me explain:
Basically they did not adjust the controls and UI at all. It still feels and handles like an app. It is clunky and counterintuitive. Some buttons are just huuuge. Like my fist huge. Indicators on what to do are missing. as well as tooltips. No effort was put into the UI for the port - that is clear.

This is a review of the PC implementation of Terra Mystica (board game)
Software SCORE: 1/10
Original Board Game SCORE: 9/10
I’m writing this review 3 years after playing the game seriously, but apart from the “bugs” (which I didn’t check), everything else still applies to the current version of July of 2020.
Note: If you want to see who I am (professionally) read the end note please.
This game was the worst development of a game that I ever played. It has an awful User Interface (UI)!
Yes: the worst I have ever experienced on a PC. So bad I couldn’t believe it. There were bugs everywhere, even in the most basic of things, like screen resolution. I spent so many hours trying to figure out what was happening. I thought it was my PC or me doing something wrong, because I couldn’t believe someone would release a game with such bugs. But this company did…

Gothic II: Gold Edition
The Gothic series and Gothic 2 (w/ addon) has a cult following in both Germany as well as Eastern Europe. Developed by a tiny indie studio it featured absolutely fantastic storytelling in a fantasy world without any of the usual high fantasy bullcrap. The entire Gothic series is low Fantasy, similar to the Witcher series, but not as grim. What makes Gothic 2 really shine, isn’t grittyness, but roughness. It is an unique RPG in the way that there is a difference between knocking someone out and actually killing them, meaning that bashing in a few heads is a viable strategy for many quests, without actually having to become a mass murderer. This allows for very intricate quest design and many memorable moments. It also spoils the inner child in me when I once again have the ability to verbally announce that the player character is going to plant his fist into the face of someone and most of the time, for good reason.

With most of the games what you see is what you get. But this isn’t the case. Gothic is a great game but Gothic 2 takes it on a whole new level. The amount of content, creativity and how much work the devs put into it is amazing. Another reminder that quality world building is important in games. Majority of devs don’t realize that having shit world design is a gamebreaker, so they just copy and paste same locations in a huge but empy world, make quests with obvious outcomes and no variety and dumb everything down. With this game though the bar was set so high that the devs from PB never managed to get close again. And likely they never will after Risen\Elex.

Space Quest™ Collection
A Collection of 6 Space Quest titles released from 1986-1995. It’s a great Inventory Adventure series that Sierra On-Line created back when MS-DOS & Windows 3.1/95/98 was still by popular demand.
In Space Quest 1 - The Sarien Encounter:
Roger Wilco is one of the most important men on the starship Arcada: he is the janitor! Just when he was doing what he does best (dozing off in a closet), the shrill sound of an alarm penetrated the air. Arcada is attacked by the evil Sariens! Before Roger realizes what is going on, he discovers that he is the only survivor. The Sariens have killed the entire crew and stolen the valuable Star Generator. Roger’s immediate task is to find a way to leave Arcada, which is about to explode in fifteen minutes. And then he’ll have to show the Sariens why they should never mess with brave intergalactic janitors!

Recommendation:
I heartily enjoyed the Space Quest Collection, but they won’t be everyone’s jam. These games are ‘classics’ in the sense that they’re old, and filled with design decisions that may frustrate the unprepared. If you are looking for sci-fi adventure games to enjoy then I would recommend the Space Quest Collection if:
- You have the mindset of an archeologist. If you are interested in the history of video games, and want to experience older graphics and gameplay conventions then you’ll find a lot to appreciate.

Dark Gravity
Shoot, destroy, collect, craft and destroy even more! “Dark Gravity” is a fast-paced, low poly vertical shoot’em up game that features non-linear campaign mode with lots of enemies and bosses. Craft new weapons, upgrade your fighter and build an ultimate aerial war machine!
After the fifth world war, there was peace in the world. For over a decade, the Grand Alliance has been leading humanity towards a better tomorrow by stifling all dangers in the bud. For some time, however, there is suspicion of a new threat that cannot be ignored.
As a member of SAF forces, your mission is to take over the Shielton base, captured by unknown rebels. No one knows who they are and what they want. What’s worse, even IMC forces couldn’t drive them away from the base because of their advanced weaponry. Weaponry out of this world. But… are those rebels the main threat? Isn’t there anything bigger behind all this? No time for questions! You must stop them at all costs!
Gameplay mechanics are very simple - destroy all enemies and try to avoid every bullet… well, at least those which can be avoided. Your special maneuver allows you to dodge normal projectiles. Even if you get hit, you will only lose one extra weapon! However, watch out for powerful bosses! They can thorn you into pieces with their ultimate unavoidable attacks!
The story mode can be completed in a few various ways. Military operations are carried out on several fronts simultaneously. It’s up to you which path you will choose. From battles high in the sky, through military bases, underground factories, collapsed mines and abandoned laboratories, to secret Arctic research facilities and the interiors of unknown civilization artifacts - you must go through all of this several times to accomplish all missions.
Every difficulty level is different. Improving your skills and fighter will help you out at facing hard and insane mode bosses, as they don’t appear at easier levels. Enemy’s layouts will change as well as their shooting patterns. At higher difficulties, you will also meet enemies that you have not met before.
Collecting drop parts and blueprints throughout the missions will allow you to unlock and craft new fighters, weapons, and upgrades. However, remember that only playing at the highest levels of difficulty will allow you to achieve a pinnacle of technology. Uncover the crafting tree and develop unique power-ups!
