Lemnis Gate

Lemnis Gate

After playing this game on release, I said this about the title:

“Unique time travel elements make Lemnis Gate the most intriguing competitive shooter. The struggle to outmaneuver your opponent with mindful planning and skillful execution is exhilarating.”

Now that the game has been out for almost two months, I still agree with this statement. However, there are still some issues with the game. I’ll list some positives and negatives, ordered by how important/impactful I find them. Keep in mind that I have only played and am only interested in 1v1 turn-based. Some of my points probably apply to other modes as well, but in my mind, Lemnis Gate = Competitive 1v1 turn-based.

Lemnis gate has amazing potential. I know some players have experienced game breaking bugs. But thats not my experience, it can be buggy, the server does crash every so often. But I believe the devs can fix this later.

Now the gameplay, holy shit, its so good. This is the freshest game I’ve ever played, the concept hasn’t been done before and I love it. It feels like a game of chess with all the interaction and counter play. There is a pretty steep learning curve, more so then most FPS games. But once you get the basic idea of how the characters work, it all clicks together with how many options you have. Learning the ins and outs can be a little painful, but that feeling when you pull a massive 200 IQ play and completely blindside the enemy is worth every bad play you make along the way. its $20, great to play with friends. Give it a go, you wont regret it.

Nomads of Driftland

Nomads of Driftland

Very entertaining game with innovative mechanisms. I can recommend this title to all RTS and god game fans. It felt great to move islands around the world, discover new lands to unlock new units. Unlike in Driftland base game, this free expansion allows the player to manually control the units and does not provide multiple choices of buildings to build, which makes the player have to combine and explore new lands to diversify their kingdom.

Do not get discouraged by the maps order. It seems that it is sorted by mission type, and it felt little boring to play three defences in a row, but it gets better later on. However, be aware that the maps are challenging.

So much to do with the free content, I can only imagine what the game is like once you purchase it. So much potential. I’m a big fan of the Nomads aspect which feels more like an RTS to me. The base game is more economy and micromanaging but harder to deal with threats because it is so limiting on defense.

Cruel Bands Career

Cruel Bands Career

Impressive game, and addictive! Full of incredible detail, it has a really charming dark / fun aesthetic & it’s not easy to master, believe me. Rewards repeat plays. Really worth it for the price.

Cool simple game.

Gameplay is not as easy as you think, you get only 3 lives to get as far as you can, and every time one of your band members “die” you have to start the stage over, game also requires fast reaction and strategic thinking since everything happens in real time.

Art is nice and tasteful, performance is as good as it gets, translation is ok.

March March!

March March!

March! March! is a turn-based duel game with puzzle-based combat system. Each turn your army gets a regiment that varies in formation and size. You only have a few seconds to decide where your soldiers fit best. Tell your units where to march! march! and they will do the rest. Fight hordes of enemies and make them flee the battlefield!

SETUP YOUR ARMY!

UPGRADE YOUR WARRIORS!

USE POWERFUL SPELLS!

  • A unique combination of game mechanics. Autobatler, Tetris, and Roguelike in one bottle. Try this magic potion, you’ll like it.

  • Story. In Campaign Mode, you lead a warlord who specializes in defeating enemies in his kingdom. Over the course of the adventure you improve your army, gain new troops, and learn spells.

  • A duelist’s paradise. Tomorrow’s Cybersport. PvP includes three modes: mirror, draft, custom. For each of them detailed settings of the battle conditions are available.

  • Setting. A fantasy world populated by cute but bloodthirsty inhabitants: humans, orcs, elves, undeads and various fantasy creatures.

  • Visual Style. Cute 2D fantasy, the style of which was specially designed for our game. It’s our highlight!

  • Fast and interesting. A playthrough lasts an average of 3 to 5 minutes. Losing this battle? You’ll win the next one! You’re going to win? Good for you!

  • Mirror is a fully balanced confrontation, where each turn opponents get identical regiments.

  • Draft — before the start of battle, opponents take turns choosing the types of units in each of the available classes. Draft is designed in such a way that opponents will have completely different army composition, but with repeating unit classes (i.e. if one opponent gets artillery / defenders / infantry etc. the other opponent will get artillery / defenders / infantry as well, but different units).

  • Endless — you cannot win in this mode, but you can become a real hero. Your army is attacked by the hordes of undead. Undead have no morale. Therefore, the only thing you can do is stand your ground as long as your combat prowess will allow. When your army’s morale finally drops to 0, you will lose. The aim of this mode is to last longer than anyone else.

  • Custom is a game mode where you determine available classes and types of units, the level of army morale at the start of the game, time limit for a turn, etc.

Your army will have 9 classes of units: Pawn, Infantry, Defenders, Strikers, Rangers, Artillery, Mages, Elite, Supports.

Each class consists of various units to choose from. Learn how they work together, and become the greatest general there is.
