Hellbreachers

Hellbreachers

Hellraizers is a new action-adventure platformer game from indie studio Omcor, creator of ace of space, set in a fantasy medieval setting.

The game meets us with a plot, atmosphere and, of course, gameplay. Everything in order.

The plot of the plot is that you acquired an island, knowingly knowing about the riches and treasures located there, but upon your arrival, a demonic incursion happened to your own island and now you, left penniless in your pocket, set off to destroy the heresy, demons and xenos that were waiting for you in the bowels of the island.

Not a bad game. Even on the hardest difficulty, I was able to run through the monsters and idly click on the bosses to destroy them. I didn’t feel any real incentive to collect the gems until after the game ended.

5/10 game for the quality.

9/10 game for the price!

My Personal Game Score: 6 / 10

  • For a 2D Plat-former, it is a decent game.

  • Music and sound are good.

  • ??? EXIT BUTTON ???

  • Buggy at some point. After jumping 2x and land ON TOP of the crate…..I DIED…..

  • Some designs blend and cannot be spotted easily….unless a player is used to it.

Rumours From Elsewhere

Rumours From Elsewhere

Deep and challenging platform action game attempting to meld Prince of Persia with a modern Roguelite. Momentum based platforming/parkour, ability based combat with character classes. Inspired level design, smooth controls, solid performance, excellent music, and imaginative worldbuilding are enough to carry the experience through a steep learning curve and significant UI deficiencies as well as occasional frustrating bugs (and sadistic gameplay systems that act like bugs).

I recommend this game if you like hard platformers with an emphasis on momentum rather than air control. Be warned, however, that the high-pressure gameplay involves features like a stamina bar (depletes with attack or dash but not jump or abilities), a timer on every level (which have randomized objectives), potions that do damage to you, weapons that kill you if you unequip them, monsters that CC you so other monsters can knockback you to the other side of the map where you fall in a lethal trap…you get the idea. This game is rewarding but punishing and a better UI would make it more comfortable.

This game is a lot of fun!

I love the look of the game, and it has a ton of character in everything you play as, kill, pick up, or read. Not to mention the sound design and music are great. Once I got used to the core mechanics, I was hooked and kept starting new runs to discover more about the game. Each of the characters feels unique, just as each of the areas are distinct, vibrant, and fun (except Misty Peaks, that place is agony).

On the downside, sometimes the platforming is just a little unwieldy. The jumping or dashing or platform grabbing seemed to occasionally glitch and caused me some significant frustration. This didn’t ruin the game by any means, but it did feel like an unfair game flaw that would crop up now and again. Also, here and there a hit box would be in dire need of updating.

THIS REVIEW WILL GO STRAIGHT THROUGH EVERYTHING

GOODS :

  • Fully free to play, will never be pay2win ;

  • The spirit of Team Fortress 2 mixed with Worms and Smash Bros ;

  • The best community i’ve ever known, old players giving thousands of weapons to new players and advices on global chat… Rare thing nowadays ;

  • 6 balanced classes you can customize with hundreds of hats and accessories ;

  • 9 different game modes (some will come back for events such as Zombie-Mode and Boss-Battles) ;

This is one great game, with no p2w. The game, as you’ve probably seen in other reviews, feels like a mix between Team Fortress 2 and Worms. You can get all weapons with crafting, and can get the ones you want first quite fast with crafting and trading. Skins and other shop items can be won through a lottery, which requires 5 tickets to play, and you get 2 tickets per day if you do your 3 daily quests, which takes little time. Not only that, but new players won’t be in a disadvantage since the default weapons are balanced so they are just as good as other weapons. You will end up liking one weapon more than others though, so that’s up to you. But nonetheless, this is a great game and all it’s missing is a bigger community. Give it a try.

Paw Paw Paw

Disclaimer: A copy of this game was provided by the publisher.

Paw Paw Paw is a beat em up about the Antipants revolution inspired by Castle Crashers.

Most of the combat revolves around staggering, both the player and the enemies can repetitively attack to keep their enemy from taking action. Early in the game, the enemies take a lot of hits until the damage is upgraded. Surprisingly destroying chests/trees and other destructibles that drop items take too many hits. Some later enemies and bosses can’t be staggered which makes them challenging.

Personally enjoyed this game A TON! If you enjoyed Castle Crashers back in the day, this game will give you a decent reminder of all the excitement that came within that game! Not only are there multiple characters to play as, but also classes to choose from that each have their own benefits. Each class has a few characters that “match” that class in which these said characters will have the same abilities. This game is great for those who like to play Local Multiplayer! Got some friends to play over Remote Play? This game is compatible with that too! The game doesn’t get any easier with more people, but it does become more enjoyable as a group! Personal favorite class is Barbarian (Slow hitter, but HEAVY DAMAGE!!!). Classes reach a certain point and get an “Upgrade” to make the abilities is even BETTER! I say it many times, and I’ll say it again, this game reminds me a TON of Castle Crashers, but I feel like the concept was even BETTER than before!
