Cycled

Cycled

Just beat the first (and second?) boss and while this feels like really early to judge the game, Cycled has a lot of charm and I want to see how it develops.

The game, at it’s core, relies on changing the enviroment, enemies and player character every few seconds. This means you’re always in a rush to do what you need in time - sometimes just kiting certain enemies that will soon transform into others who might be more convient to deal with. It’s fun to pull off some combos with both character’s you’re controlling such as by attacking and then summoning your other character right at the end of a wave, then quickly attacking again and summoning the previous character for a final hit.

Was addicted after 5 minutes. Beat the game on hard with all characters and I don’t normally play these types of games but this was fun attempting to unlock as much as possible. Don’t pass this up if you enjoy rougelike games.

Plague Breaker is a really cool roguelike game based on games like castlevania. It’s got a cool class system that I enjoyed, item pickups similar to Issac, and level and item randomizations. It’s a pretty fun game and even has co-op. A few of the class choices can be traps that don’t work well if you aren’t paying attention to the items you have or don’t have likely access too based on your difficulty, but as long as you avoid that, most play styles you choose can adapt fairly well.

I requested this game on keymailer because it looked awesome and it was.

Grand Class Melee 2

Grand Class Melee 2

This is one of the best local multiplayer games that I have ever played- period. I played the first Grand Class Melee on my friend’s Xbox 360, and had such a great time, because there is so much freedom in your character, and in countering the other characters- and that means that every game is unique in how you have to play. It means that gameplay can be incredibly meta and powerful, or cheap and gimmicky. This game is very similar to the first, but almost exclusively an improvement over the original. The lack of split screen games on the market makes this game a real treat to play, and is an excuse to get friends to be together. If there are any negatives to me, they’re the lack of online, and the strength of the homing projectiles. The online is admittedly a not crucial, but the fact that these projectiles, which usually only move in 4 directions, are able to move any which way for a nearly unlimited time, it just too strong to not pick if you play to win. But overall the game is great, and I won’t stop playing it for a long time.

I don’t want to be cruel with the developers and say that you shouldn’t even try this game. But well… you probably shouldn’t.

Even thought you can see what they tried to do, an arena fighter with different characters and abilities, in the end it is not satisfactory. It is kinda confusing to understand what is going on, since the UI is so simple that doesn’t even explain things to you. The combats are VERY unbalanced and the game is not fluid. Not to say that the AI is just unbeatable (you’ll only win by the unbalance factor).

Ace of Spades: Battle Builder

Ace of Spades: Battle Builder

4 years.

I remember when I first bought this game. I was so happy and excited about it.

I remember when I first met “pros”. I wanted to play more and reach their level.

I remember when I actually reached 300 hours and thought myself to be the best player of all times. (Classical 300hrs syndrome (Everyone reaching 300hrs has it))

I remember huge amount of players playing this game.

I remember when devs actually supported (or pretended to support) the game.

I remember nice community, lots of interesting events and tons of fun.

UPDATE: Holy shiat this dead game got a new update. Oh wait, most of it is locked away behind a paywall! Hahahahahahahahaha-gasp-hahahahhaahaha.

Long read ahead, but worth it!

As someone who has played Ace of Spades for way too long, let me introduce the history of it to you first:

In April 2011, somebody called Ben Aksoy released a pretty decent and free FPS with voxel mechanics called Ace of Spades. This was a game that people mostly played on a randomly-generated map similar to Minecraft’s randomly-generated maps (only without the trees, only grass, some rivers and more hills). The default and only gamemode at the time was Capture The Flag. All of these in combination allowed for some fun gameplay that required some strategy. Dig tunnels to capture the enemy’s intel, or build a fort to defend your own intel. Every man only had a rifle, spade, grenades and some blocks (unlike most FPSes there were no newby spray-and-pray weapons).

snake game go brrr, this is the first game in a while that i played for 7 hours straight. i would say this game is insanely under priced but i’m not complaining, each time you beat the game you unlock new difficulties and can make your snake a unit longer. i love the many different classes and units you can pick, things such as aoe or projectile attacks, or other things like the merchant which gives you interest on money and other stat booster and abilities you can get from beating elite enemies. buy this game. now.

Tetrogue Dragons

Tetrogue Dragons

Tetrogue Dragons is a deckbuilding rogue-lite with a fun puzzle twist. Choose from three initial classes and unlock four more. Each class has a unique set of abilities that correlates to falling blocks on the battle board. The classes also have different stats altering the penalties they take for filling their battle board or the speed that blocks fall onto the board. As you move through procedurally generated maps, you add shapes into your deck, gain potions, and add items that alter gameplay and can also stack for impressive bonuses. Items can increase the size of your battle board, your loot drops, your maximum health or much more. Beware though! As you add shapes to your deck, the enemy’s decks get bigger as well and their abilities grow with each new map. At the end of each map battle a dragon boss with unique abilities like reversing your controls or obscuring part of your battle board. Play to become a master, or just have some casual fun, it is up to you!
