I LOVE RPGs but am terrible at playing them, particularly during combat. I always play on Easy, Casual, or Story mode. When that’s genuinely easier than Normal mode, I love the game. Battle Hunters has an Easy mode that’s anything but easy. I keep running into combats I can’t handle. So until the developers update Easy mode so it really is easy, or add a Wimp mode for lousy players like me, I’m going to stop playing. Otherwise I like the game a lot. Sure, there’s no plot to speak of, and characters are less than one-dimensional. But there’s a lot going on that I would enjoy if I could handle the combat.

Exogate Initiative
Exogate Initiative is a management/base-building game that puts you in charge of mankind’s first worlds exploration program. In the near future, a new technology will allow us to travel instantly anywhere in the universe, via portals known as Exogates. An international initiative is created to develop this technology and start the first exploration program.
You will lead mankind into the vast unknown, where we never before dreamt to tread.
In the depth of a mountain plan, excavate and build your base using a variety of specialized rooms and equipment.
-
Complete freedom to dig anywhere on the map.
-
Plan and build specialized rooms, explorers will need barracks to rest, a training field to prepare for their missions or a laboratory to study samples they brought back from other worlds.
-
Place equipment in these rooms, each one of them will have a dedicated purpose.
Recruit, train and manage specialists from all around the world.
-
You will unlock 6 different classes of explorers, the scientist will study flora and fauna on other worlds, the scholar will decipher alien culture and languages and the soldier will ensure everyone is safe.
-
Explorers are called gaters, they are completely autonomous.
-
Each gater is unique. They come from different countries, have different ages, look different.
-
Take care of their needs and ensure their well-being, both physical and psychological, as they are constantly facing the unknown.
-
They will develop relationships between each other, and losing a friend on a mission will not have the same impact as losing someone you hate.
-
Provide them with the tools and suits needed for their journey
Assemble teams and send them exploring new worlds through the Exogate.
-
Gaters will perform missions on their own but will request your help from time to time.
-
These contacts are micro interactive stories that will constantly try to surprise you, and where you will sometimes have to make difficult decisions.
-
They may discover new flora, fauna or even intelligent beings. There are more than 10 different kinds of encounters
-
After each mission, teams will return with more experience and interesting things to study. This will allow you to unlock new technologies and earn money to keep the initiative running.
Don’t forget to wishlist and follow!

Baldur’s Gate 3
Recommended only if you are willing to accept that it is not complete and is still yet a while away from being done. Very similar to Larian’s previous two games but with just enough tweaks to make it feel fresh and closer to DnD ruleset. Some say it may as well have been called DOS3. While true, it’s also not a bad thing. Those games IMO are responsible for the resurgence of the old-school CRPG genre. Personally, this is my dream game. Huge fan of the originals and huge fans of the DOS games. Actually had the out-loud thought back in 2014…“what if Baldur’s Gate made a comeback and these Larian dudes were the ones to do it?” Wish granted. People will nitpick and complain, but I’m beyond impressed with what I’ve seen so far. The RTWP argument has been done to death and if you want to cry about it, go play Pillars of Eternity. It’s so close a copy to the old Infinity engine games that it honestly got stale and lost its nostalgia shine real fast. I would have been disappointed if a new game bearing the BG name turned out to be the same stuff I played to death 20 something years ago. The scope of what Larian is going for here is extremely ambitious and I’m 110% rooting for them to pull it off. With all of the possible dialogue options and minor little attentions to detail, its like a real tabletop in that everyone who plays will be working through the same “module” but everyone is going to experience that story differently depending on the player or groups decisions. Obviously, proper tabletop DnD cant be played solo, but just like the original Baldurs Gate games, this is/will be the best possible way for a solo player without and IRL group to play with to experience its universe.

This is a pretty amazing game the best DnD based game I have ever played it is very good. There is still a lot of development needed would not recommend this game if you do not have a high performance PC with an SSD they definitely still need to do some work on the performance. When the game leaves early access it will be well worth it I can assure you. For right now once you get bored of the waiting for new content check out what the modding community has done there has been some really great player content.

American Isekai Prologue
Really enjoyed this demo. The game, despite being clearly identified as a work in progress, is nonetheless a fun diversion. I’ve been playing this style of RPGs since the Apple IIc version of Might & Magic II: Gates to Another World and the OG Nintendo Final Fantasy I. I really enjoy learning new systems and progressing the story at my own pace; this game gives me the same sense of wonder and control over my own destiny in the game that those games that originally captured my imagination so many years ago.
