Great game to play with friends!

It has awesome gameplay, very cool retro looking graphics and a catchy soundtrack which you might find you self hum along to at times

Performance is really good, the game runs on pretty much any computer and doesn’t require expensive hardware to enjoy

Everything is of course not perfect though. There’s some issues like balancing of spells and classes could be better and they currently only support P2P multiplayer so playing with someone far away from you might not result in a good experience

Awesome game to pick up and play with a couple friends. I also found a responsive discord community with both devs and players being active meaning there will always be people to play with.

Was further positively surprised by a pretty prevalent skill expression which made it really rewarding to discover new combos and practice them. All over great game! :)

My hours. help.

I wrote something for real!

These hours are legit, I played this game a lot in the past to avoid some tragic stuff in real life. I was young and didn’t really have my gaming consoles anymore because of my brothers and I had a really bad pc, which i still own. TF2 was one of the games i could play pretty well on this pc but with horrid graphics, but it was one of the more fun games I installed. I met some real cool and nice people on this game as well as people who i plan to keep by my side. The community back then was more humble compared to nowadays. You have competitive gamers who spam their bind keys with unfunny/gross jokes and very obnoxious people who are either yelling at you or telling you to do specific things to win the game. When really, it doesn’t even matter if you win or lose. However, you also have those people who are really awesome and you may meet some nice friends along the way! Although you never know what kinda person you’re going to meet on this game. In my honest opinion, if you want to have a game to just waste time on (and money) or just mess around with people you know (which is what I do now), this is perfect. Esspecially the mann vs. machine co-op. I mainly play that now. Although to me, the game lost its touch, update wise, and I moved onto other games.

This game carries such an emotional valence for me that I hardly even know where to begin. Let me tell you about the match I just played. Then try this game.

Two teams spawned in locker rooms, with an assortment of specialized classes ranging from gunmen to support to explosive experts. With a feeling of determination all set out to prove themselves in the battlefield. In the fierce thunderdome of ctf_turbine, bullets ricocheted and jars of pee rained. As a soldier myself, I was able to rocket jump around the map and deliver swift explosive death to nearly any class. I just had to remember to watch my back for spies and be wary of enemies with medics. The battle flowed back and forth with both teams taking turns occupying the thunderdome of a mid that is ctf_turbine, neither willing to give up. This continued for half an hour.

Lemnis Gate

Lemnis Gate

After playing this game on release, I said this about the title:

“Unique time travel elements make Lemnis Gate the most intriguing competitive shooter. The struggle to outmaneuver your opponent with mindful planning and skillful execution is exhilarating.”

Now that the game has been out for almost two months, I still agree with this statement. However, there are still some issues with the game. I’ll list some positives and negatives, ordered by how important/impactful I find them. Keep in mind that I have only played and am only interested in 1v1 turn-based. Some of my points probably apply to other modes as well, but in my mind, Lemnis Gate = Competitive 1v1 turn-based.

Lemnis gate has amazing potential. I know some players have experienced game breaking bugs. But thats not my experience, it can be buggy, the server does crash every so often. But I believe the devs can fix this later.

Now the gameplay, holy shit, its so good. This is the freshest game I’ve ever played, the concept hasn’t been done before and I love it. It feels like a game of chess with all the interaction and counter play. There is a pretty steep learning curve, more so then most FPS games. But once you get the basic idea of how the characters work, it all clicks together with how many options you have. Learning the ins and outs can be a little painful, but that feeling when you pull a massive 200 IQ play and completely blindside the enemy is worth every bad play you make along the way. its $20, great to play with friends. Give it a go, you wont regret it.

Megalith

Megalith

Having played this game since the PSVR beta, I must say I enjoy the gameplay to this day! It is a polished experience with a great art style and ambient sound that is immersive. The lobby filling mechanics allow for unending play sessions (against bots or players) and very rarely have I experienced connection issues. Character designs are impressive with attention to little details that you would not otherwise know are there unless you take the time to look closely. Fights against players are intense as the sense of presence becomes more clear during battles. The variety of abilities keeps each character fresh and makes for great counter selections during pregame lobby character picks.

Well polished game that feels like another VR essential title.

  • The game requires snap/smooth turning (if you turn with your body, the character’s body doesn’t turn with you)

  • Index Controller configuration isn’t the best for switching abilities. This can be changed easily. I recommend changing the ability swap control to left trigger.

  • No crouching. The game will snap you into a standing position if you crouch with your real body. This seems to be intended so that you can play seated.

  • No items to purchase mid-game for your hero (like most MOBA’s). Though you won’t be bothered by it nearly as much when you see how busy the game is even without items.

Ace of Spades: Battle Builder

Ace of Spades: Battle Builder

4 years.

I remember when I first bought this game. I was so happy and excited about it.

I remember when I first met “pros”. I wanted to play more and reach their level.

I remember when I actually reached 300 hours and thought myself to be the best player of all times. (Classical 300hrs syndrome (Everyone reaching 300hrs has it))

I remember huge amount of players playing this game.

I remember when devs actually supported (or pretended to support) the game.

I remember nice community, lots of interesting events and tons of fun.

UPDATE: Holy shiat this dead game got a new update. Oh wait, most of it is locked away behind a paywall! Hahahahahahahahaha-gasp-hahahahhaahaha.

Long read ahead, but worth it!

As someone who has played Ace of Spades for way too long, let me introduce the history of it to you first:

In April 2011, somebody called Ben Aksoy released a pretty decent and free FPS with voxel mechanics called Ace of Spades. This was a game that people mostly played on a randomly-generated map similar to Minecraft’s randomly-generated maps (only without the trees, only grass, some rivers and more hills). The default and only gamemode at the time was Capture The Flag. All of these in combination allowed for some fun gameplay that required some strategy. Dig tunnels to capture the enemy’s intel, or build a fort to defend your own intel. Every man only had a rifle, spade, grenades and some blocks (unlike most FPSes there were no newby spray-and-pray weapons).

Combots

Combots

This is a very fun game with an active developer. I like the low poly artstyle, the UI is fully fleshed out, gamemodes are intuitive and the map geometry and loadout combinations create a lot of depth. It’s entirely possible to play as the tank class and use teleportation to get high up on top of buildings, looking over the whole map and taking potshots at people.

The biggest problems right now is the small playerbase…playing with AI isn’t very fun. But that’s easy to change, we just need more players.

Grand Class Melee 2

Grand Class Melee 2

This is one of the best local multiplayer games that I have ever played- period. I played the first Grand Class Melee on my friend’s Xbox 360, and had such a great time, because there is so much freedom in your character, and in countering the other characters- and that means that every game is unique in how you have to play. It means that gameplay can be incredibly meta and powerful, or cheap and gimmicky. This game is very similar to the first, but almost exclusively an improvement over the original. The lack of split screen games on the market makes this game a real treat to play, and is an excuse to get friends to be together. If there are any negatives to me, they’re the lack of online, and the strength of the homing projectiles. The online is admittedly a not crucial, but the fact that these projectiles, which usually only move in 4 directions, are able to move any which way for a nearly unlimited time, it just too strong to not pick if you play to win. But overall the game is great, and I won’t stop playing it for a long time.

Real player with 7.8 hrs in game

I don’t want to be cruel with the developers and say that you shouldn’t even try this game. But well… you probably shouldn’t.

Even thought you can see what they tried to do, an arena fighter with different characters and abilities, in the end it is not satisfactory. It is kinda confusing to understand what is going on, since the UI is so simple that doesn’t even explain things to you. The combats are VERY unbalanced and the game is not fluid. Not to say that the AI is just unbeatable (you’ll only win by the unbalance factor).
