Fallen Enchantress: Legendary Heroes
I read the reviews on this game and honestly, I don’t know if can go by them or not anymore. I ordered the ultimate package so I would have the add-ons, paid the full $40, and for that amount I will be replacing every other game I own. Here is why…
I love Civ series games, Heroes of M&M, Age of Wonders, Endless legends, GalCiv etc, those types of games, but they always had me looking for ways to make: decisions, resources, battles, buildings, etc to mean more and to be more meaningful, more important in the game while not sacrificing anything too much. For me, Fallen Enchantress: Legendary Heroes Ultimate pack is the game that finally did that in a satisfying way.

Empire building like Civ 5 + RPG elements + extensive customization for your army
It sounds like a winning combination, yes? Let’s find out..
First off, the ((tutorial)): videos and encyclopedia feature explains most of the basics very well, so the learning curve is pretty smooth. So even though it is clearly a complex game, it’s not hard to learn and play with most of the features. You still have to experiment yourself to master the customization features, which is great cuz such features are usually up to experienced players to make use of them anyway.

Reactor Tech²
A game about watching number rise. But what is life, if not watching the year count rise and your bank account dwindle?
Now, I’ve just finished my first “complete” playthrough and there are a few things I want to talk about. Let’s start with the most important: most of the negative reviews are old. The UI isn’t perfect but it’s not bad and same with the tutorial. In my entire playtime I’ve only found what I think was a bug once.
The artstyle, music and sound effects are gorgeous.
DO NOT buy this game expecting something similar to a city/base builder. Actually you build very few structures, and spend most of the time upgrading your existing buildings, changing the engineering cells and min-maxing the different configurations.

It has the marks of an interesting, fun little game, however…
Be warned:
it’s not really release-ready, regardless what they claim.
The game is full of annoying bugs and overlooked illogical elements, the controls are inconsistent, the whole thing is sorely in need of a UI/UX overview, it’s hard to navigate, hard to sort out what’s what.
Currently expansion is impossible, due to a heating issue.
And in my personal opinion it does not look good.
I’ll persist, maybe it’ll be a good game; currently it’s a beta, that’s not very playable.

Last Kingdom - The Card Game
A fun P Vs. E style deckbuilder very similar in style to this dev’s earlier released Business Wars but with some cool fantasy twists. A few of the innovative features:
-
The player at random intervals can earn a choice of boosters (a set of 3 thematic cards based on the chosen bestower). The player can see exactly what cards would be granted in the 3 pack before deciding.
-
Each round you choose between 2 castles, and the one not defended is lost passing onto the player a nasty side effect. So as your character and deck grow in power, you’ll have more and more of these passive curses to deal with.

What is this game about?
Can a 120 card deck work? Yes.
Last Kingdom - The Card Game is, obviously, a card game but what’s so different about it comparing every other roguelike deckbuilders? For starters, you can end up with over 100 cards in your deck so it’s definitely not your typical deck builder but let’s start from the very beginning.

King of the Universe
In the 24th century BC, the Sumerians have turned the land of Mesopotamia from a simple Cradle of Civilization to the home of empires. It is your mission to take control of the kingdom of Kish and conquer your enemies, in order to become Lugal Kiški, King of the Universe.
The Sumerians, or “the black-headed people” (Sag̃-g̃i-ga in their native tongue), were the first people to invent both civilization and writing. Their well-organised and state-run societies make the perfect setting for a strategic video game. In King of the Universe, you will not only try to conquer your enemies, you will also have to take care of your own people.
Through military means you gather land and slaves, and through economic means you build new structures for your people. If your citizens do not produce enough supplies to quench your war machine, you will fail. If you do not protect your citizens from foreign invaders, you will fail. This game is about balance, and only by finding it will you become King of the Universe.

Despite still being so early in its development, this is a very fun game. The devs are very responsive to community feedback and surprisingly quick to fix issues for such a small team. If you are looking for a full out medieval sims game… it’s not quite there yet, but if you enjoy designing castles and fighting bandits, it’s already good to go.

Let them Trade!
Interact with a multitude of trader characters! Each with their own personality, their own field of expertise and of course their own preferences on where to spend their money. Butter them up and make their life as easy as possible:
-
Fend off bandits by hiring knights in shiny armors
-
Optimize trade routes so they pass by their favorite resources

I’ve been playing the game for about 14 hours now and while it was fun at start, some things started to annoy me:
-
First off, a dev who claimed (in discord) this game is worthy of a full release, which obviously is not the case).
-
Too many plots are taken by bandit camps and mining plots
-
Boats are buggy and can break sometimes (not allowing you to load resources on it)
-
It needs more optimization, i have a great pc but even for me the game started stuttering (ingame and sound)
-
Bandit camps need balancing. I have them with only kings, which requires a max level training field. By the time i can defeat them i have no more need for such resources you can get from them.
