Silicon City

I really enjoy this game! The perfect amount of challenge while still being great fun and just a little bit mindless since I play to relax and not to create more work for myself. I look forward to the next evolution of this game!

Very nice take on SimCity-style games. I especially enjoy the graphs of various metrics, and ability to really drill down into each silizen’s life. I am excited for continued development and look forward to how this game will evolve!

From a playability standpoint - on my laptop (8gb ram, i7 (4 cores @ 2.20GHz)) at lowest settings, the game plays reasonably when going on the 1x speed. Either of the faster speed options causes the game to become very choppy. Even when using 1980’s top-down style it seems to be quite slow (perhaps because that’s just a different camera angle?). Increasing simulation speed also seems to mess with the power grid distribution: when my network is not super-saturated with electricity, running at a faster simulation speed makes parts of my city run out of power. But if I turn it back down to 1x and wait a bit of time, all of the buildings will come back online.

Citres

Citres

Citres is a minimalistic Japanese city building game.

There are no dozens of different types of buildings or macro resource management in the game. In this game you buy packs of buildings for Yen - in-game currency, which contains random buildings in the form of Tetris figures. By placing buildings correctly, you will receive Yen to buy new packs, as well as expand the city by filling houses with new residents, which will bring you closer to the discovery of new unique buildings. Building buildings of the same type in the shape of a square will upgrade them, here the skills of playing Tetris will come in handy.

What’s in the game:

  • Simple and straightforward gameplay

  • Procedurally generated island

  • Japanese atmosphere with relaxing soundtrack[/]

I loved this game at first, and even gave it an excellent review but now its dead. One developer lout of the 2 working on it left. I wasted my money for a broken, buggy, incomplete game. First time I’ve been burned by early access. I hope the remaining dev is able to sell the title to a different studio that can complete it, but no one should waste their money on this. You can get other games with the same concept that are complete. If i could, I would return it. I was unfortunate enough to play it for an extended period of time.

PROS:

Great art style

Simple gameplay but still very fun

Actual people who interact with eachother

Factions

Personality

CONS:

Kinda unfinished

Overflow of bugs (see in comments how many bugs)

People cannot interact with relics

SUGGESTIONS:

Add a map, with different islands. Make people fight for the islands. Also add a “peacefull” gamemode with no other vikings.

Make people interact with relics, like climbing the relics.

See people actually coming by boat to the island.

Please dont make the suggestions a DLC.

Myriads: Renaissance

Myriads: Renaissance

Build-up your capital island and manage its resources using city building mechanics. Are your citizens starving? Add a wetland shard and build a farm. Do you need to raise a new army? Mine gold from your single mountain shard or trade goods for gold. But be careful, space is limited as you won’t be able to extend your island indefinitely.

You cannot survive on your own, you will need to explore your surroundings. Travel into a procedurally generated world, discovering a myriad of floating islands. Send your armies to loot lost secrets or treasure chests. Trace your path and establish new colonies. But be careful, the more you explore, the more you will let your enemy know that you exist.

The capital island is limited in size, you will need to expand your territory outside of its bound. Do you need some food to sustain your capital’s needs? Send your settler ship to establish a new exploitation colony. Do you need more gold in order to recruit more troops? Build and manage trading posts. But with great power comes great responsibility: will you be able to defend them?

Enemy’s corsairs are roaming across the world, raiding and killing. Place defense towers strategically to protect your colonies from them. Use your galleons to destroy corsair lairs, freeing the archipelagos from your enemy’s rule. But be prepared to face it as it will come for you!

New technologies are the key to overcome your rival. Are your citizens struggling with the lack of space? Use the lost secrets your armies found and unlock a new technology which allows more shards to be gathered. Do you wish to recruit more advanced troops? Build cartographers and keep looking for lost secrets.

Diplomacy is Not an Option

Diplomacy is Not an Option

In the RTS-game “Diplomacy is Not an Option” you will become a medieval feudal lord in a midlife crisis. Due to your position you must constantly make hundreds of decisions a day related with city management and economic development. You are tired of this monotonous and, so it seems, meaningless existence. But things are about to change: hordes of bloodlusted enemies, swarms of scary monsters and crowds of rebellious peasants at any second can bring some life to your working schedule.

War-time laws

The country is going through difficult times. King’s greed and wastefulness led to the economic crisis and widespread peasant riots. You are a feudal lord. It happened so that, being fed up of routine and everyday problems, you’ve lost a taste for life. When an angry mob besieges your castle you perceive this news with an extraordinary enthusiasm, personally lead the defense and win a glorious victory.

Your role in the riots suppression is noticed at the court. The crown sends you on a responsible mission. Rumors are, there are deposits of gold and other precious materials on a poorly explored continent. The task is to take control under foreign land, obtain its treasures in order to replenish the king’s coffer. Though they forgot to warn that the natives won’t be glad to see you. In addition, there are monsters on the continent, and local mages are actively practicing necromancy.

What sacrifices will you make for the sake of survival and victory? Or maybe you should stop this suicidal campaign and overthrow the king? Don’t you deserve to rule the world?

Physical laws

The laws of physics are thoroughly reproduced in Diplomacy is Not an Option to maximize player immersion in a medieval war action. Tens of thousands of units can fight on the screen at the same time.

Here are several helpful tips:

  • Every gun has its certain range, and medieval shells fly by an arc trajectory.

  • Arrows do not pierce stone walls. On contrary, arrows bounce off the walls.

  • Archers on the towers have blind spots. Closed gates can become an obstacle not only for the enemy, but also for your retreating units.

  • You may discover other interesting facts about the nature of things that may become useful for combat operations.

Social laws

Surviving hostile environments is an important part of the gameplay. Even the most loyal of your citizens tend to die from time to time. From various causes, such as illness, old age, depression, or being seriously hurt on the battlefield. When this happens, it is strongly recommended to bury the dead in order to avoid epidemics and the moral decay of society.

Economical laws

Economic processes in “Diplomacy is Not an Option” are visible. You will see how walls are being built stone by stone. Or how a fallen tree is cut into boards, from which the city will then be raised. The feudal lord does not need to take part in the affairs of his subjects. However, such visibility will help you to manage human resources with more efficiency. As a ruler, you will lead people, give them specialization and, so to say, the meaning of life. Every member of the society is important, from a lumberjack or a carpenter to an undertaker or a swordsman. Once set up, with a proper support the economic process will become a key to survival and also will let you to focus on mission objectives.

Magical laws

What do we say to the gods of death, whether they are on an uncharted continent or in our own reach? “Bury the bodies immediately!” – we answer to these gods. Otherwise every fallen warrior and every lumberjack died from overstrain has risk to join the enemy forces. Also the dead are a very wayward. If you demolish a cemetery and disturb their sleep, they shall rise and begin to wreak havoc, reducing the population of the living.

Life laws

We sought to create a game without unnatural limitations. From the very first task, you will be given the entire available arsenal, and all the in-game mechanics will be unlocked. It depends on you which strategy to choose for your city to survive and prosper. Knowledge of the all listed laws will help you to complete different missions with various ultimate goals and types of enemies. During your campaign you will face moral dilemmas. You will see human stupidity and shortsightedness, leading to fatal consequences. Just like in real life. The only difference is that conflicts cannot be avoided.

T-Minus 30

T-Minus 30

Fantastic little game, built by two devs who show their passion in this game and backed by the people who made SUPERHOT. Definitely worth a look.

You have 30 minutes to save as many people as you can. You get to build roads, logging camps, mines, power, tear down buildings, scavenge, and more resource collection and management with time pressure hanging over you. It’s not as intense as FrostPunk, nor is it meant to be. It’s something for when you have 30-60 minutes and want to play something that’ll challenge you but not overwhelm or stress you.

T-Minus 30 is a unique take on the city building genre. You are trying to gather enough resources to get the remaining survivors off of Earth before the world ends. Each run lasts for only 30 minutes and you feel the pressure as the time ticks down closer to closer to the end.

There are multiple types of rockets to build that will allow you to have various strategies to evacuate. Do you concentrate on the most advanced rockets that hold the most people, even though they cost the most resources? Do you try to focus on the nature based ships that are cheaper to build, but require a complete water distribution system? There really isn’t a wrong way to play T-Minus 30. Trying to chase higher places on the leader board is fun as well.

Terra Nil

Terra Nil

Terra Nil, from eco-warriors Free Lives (Broforce) and recycled publisher Devolver Digital, presents players with the task of environmental rejuvenation.

The phases of wasteland reclamation

Begin with the water system, slowly purify the soil, and cultivate pioneer greenery. Embark on more ambitious tasks, restore biodiversity, fix the climate, introduce wildlife, and finally recycle all the structures you used to get there, leaving the environment pristine.

Unique, procedurally generated maps

Each region of the game has its own flavour and procedural generation palette. Yet even within a region, no two playthroughs will be the same.

Picturesque landscapes

Navigate sprawling, verdant, hand-painted environments where everything but the rocks move and breathe. A meditative soundtrack and stunning audio palette will accompany your efforts.

Clicker Planet

Clicker Planet

I like to support Clicker or Idle game developers. I bought game + DLC and regret this after 10 minutes…

1. This game is so simple that can be made in Unity in less than 1 day.

2. There is no tactic, strategy - nothing in this game. You can just buy 3 idle source of income and… nothing more. There is no progress, no new planets - nothing

3. Game is totaly empty. You can click on 4 diffrent things and do nothing more

4. GAME RESET YOUR PROGRESS RANDOMLY! I played 10 minutes and clicked 3000 times. I was kicked out from game, when I started it again I needed to start from zero. Same happen when you buy DLC and choose diffrent planet (mirrored + diffrent color = 2 USD payment… really?)

Valley of No Roads

It is not that I do not like the game. I like the idea. What I have a problem with is that you can NOT save the game. You either have to play on or let the board go if you need to leave and do something else. This is something they need to add. Also they better guide on how to play. I hope they have more updates the last that I can see was back in June.

Tutorial could be clearer, help dialogues could be a little bit better, but all over a verry nice puzzle game. Challanging and cute. Yes it needs improvement, but it is promising! I love it so far.
